I got nothin', sorry player. I'm so thankful some of their stuff is on Spotify.

Stronger than Heaven never ceases to amaze me. The perfect synergy of riffing style, vocals, lyrics, and that SLIGHTLY molten guitar tone. Not a single other album by Stormwitch comes close to this one for me. Definition of a personal classic.

Also word to Jophelerx for his Track of Doom review. That album will never ever EVER get enough attention. I think he still has me on ignore though lol.

You'll be worthy of not being ignored once you learn to spell my name right, pal!
But yeah, Track of Doom really is criminally overlooked. I put the album on the other day and realized I'd forgotten how insanely good it was. That shit hits hard!

Shit my bad man I really have been spelling it wrong this entire time.

I just heard their second album for the first time today. It wasn't a super focused listen but daaaaamn. They were so special. Riffs so muscular they can't lower their arms, but they flirt with almost commercial lyrical themes. The production is very similar to the first which is only a great thing. Can't wait to hear it again!

I know a lot of people swear by their debut, but the next two are far superior for me. Better production did wonders for them. Hooks for days!

I've always liked Tales of Terror the best, but of course all of the first three are great. Sword of Saigon is probably my favorite song of theirs, that ultra cheesy intro is just so much win.

Oh yeah, that's a classic tune for sure.

The one Stormwitch lyric that always gets me is "Spider webs stick to your face, Can you feel their tight embrace?" I can see what they were going for, but reading it out just gives me a mental image of a person mildly annoyed. "Ew!"

Hmm, let me think ...

You might want to try:
Septer - The God Key
Spiral Tower

Some other may occur to me. That's a very specific recommendation and an uncommon one.

I know, and I fail to find the right words to describe what I like about "Redivivus", I guess it's sort of this mix of melodic, catchy (yet not cheesy) choruses and dark, melacholic riffs, the kind you find in Melodeath bands such as Insomnium or Dark Tranquility's "Projector".

By the way, I liked Spiral Tower, I added it to my Discogs wantlist, thanks!

Fairly similar to Bruce Hall-era Agent Steel - well, firstly, the vocalist on this album sounds a lot like Bruce Hall, but the riffs are fairly similar as well. I personally prefer their Alienigma album, so here is a track from that one (though others will probably tell you to check out other albums first): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90FJSXWnF8I

I love Bruce Hall-era Agent Steel, and I see some similarities but AS were always way thrashier than WB.

You may want to check out Fires of Babylon, although it probably sounds more like a Rob Rock solo album than a Winters Bane album in the final analysis.

Re: Redivivus, I would personally the criminally underrated Crescent Shield:

Crescent Shield - The Grand Horizon
Crescent Shield - The Endurance

And yeah, I would definitely recommend something from Order of the Illuminati first, which I find to be the clear best out of the 3 Bruce Hall era albums:
Agent Steel - Insurrection

...and this is not really what you're looking for in the description but it just goes so fucking amazingly well after that Agent Steel song, it's a fucking masterpiece, so why the hell not...
Crimson Glory - Touch the Sun

...and on the exact same train of thought (flow of metal really):
Them - Forever Burns

Someone mentioned them (once, I think) before but I'll mention them again: fucking MAGNABOLT. Imagine Nosferatu era Helstar with a high baritone on vocals instead of a tenor; although this guy also keeps singing in his midrange rather than his upper register, just like James Rivera did.

I've been meaning to check them out, Magnabolt that is. A lot of people here have been going apeshit over them, I have high hopes.

These may not be exactly power metal by definition but close enough. All are awesome and should be checked out if you haven't already.

Satan's Host "By The Hands Of The Devil", "Celebration: For The Love Of Satan", "Virgin Sails" and "Pre-Dating God, Pt 1 & 2".
Portrait "S/T", "Crimen Laesae Majestatis Divinae", "Crossroads" and "Burn The World".
Wolf 'Black Wings".

I see a lack of Florida's Iron Cross self titled on that list. That album might be a fit for what Pellinore might be looking for.

Re: Magnabolt
I've heard half the album. LOVE the style they're playing. The guitar work is really the highlight and the focus of the listening experience for me. Not decided on the vocals yet or perhaps the vocal lines. And consequently, not entirely sure about the songwriting overall. But it might be a grower, I don't usually get enthusiastic on first listen. But definitely very recommended, it's very interesting.

And yes, I'd go see Enforcer. They're better than a lot of that retro school of new heavy metal bands I think. Check out Diamonds or Death by Fire.

I just tried Eternity's End's Unyielding again (thanks Empyreal!) and it might be what you're after.

Chastain - Ruler of the Wasteland

Shok Paris - Steel and Starlight

Muscular, rocking USPM... all good stuff.

This is so stupidly enjoyable to me. Anything like this style of speed metal?

I liked the slightly modern production and vocals. For contrast, I am not usually a fan of those vocals on the ADX track provided above, and the production is very 80s too.

Looking for more old school prog/power that's not super mechanical but a bit more atmospheric while still delivering powerful riffs. I'm referring to stuff like Arch era Fates Warning, Existence's Reign in Violence and Adramelch's Irae Melanox.

Screamer - Target Earth
Slauter Xstroyes - (my favorite is Free the Beast)
Matthias Steele - Haunting Tales of a Warrior's Past

Citron's album Radegast reminds me a bit of Arch-era FW.

I know all those and they're not really what I was looking for. Screamer are too ''sci-fi'' sounding. I do like Slauter Xstroyes' second album and while it's good, it lacks that sort of ancient almost restrained feel to it and Matthias Steele are too thrashy. Glad you like that Existence album though. It's cool stuff.

If you haven't listened to them yet, they're both obviously influenced by Manilla Road--especially their 80s albums, but just about every Manilla Road album will scratch that epic heavy metal itch you clearly have.
