Can someone point me in the direction of some slam death metal that has understandable lyrics and has a proportionate amount of death metal and slams? Like Molesting The Decapitated, but tighter rhythmically and with a better guitar tone.

Deprecated maybe?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygSJZkYqDkM (1998 original)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYVucDHWVDU (2013 partial re-recording)

I linked both versions because they sound quite different and you might like the original more as it's closer to the sound of Devourment.
The lyrics are more understandable than usual when it comes to slam, but still not totally understandable.

I'm looking for some quality brutal/technical death metal EP's or demo's. I've found that EP's generally have a much higher overall quality and there are way more hidden gems in the form of an EP (or demo) than in the form of a full-length.

Some EP's that I already know and love:

Bile - The Shed
Bile of Man - Dystopian Order
The Day Everything Became Nothing - Slow Death by Grinding
Deprecated - Deriding His Creation
Infected Swarm - Survival Race
Misericordiam - Unanimity and the Cessation of Hostility
Viraemia - Viraemia

I recently had the occasion to listen to Profane Nexus by Incantation and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the work. Anyone can point me in the direction of other good old school in that vein. There is less of that cavernous feeling which was on there in Onward To Golgotha but otherwise quite good.

Does anyone know more brutal death metal that sounds similar to Skinless's Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead? I feel that this style a bit more accessible than what's normal for this subgenre, but hey, I like it. I think Dying Fetus's Reign Supreme kinda sounds similar to it. If anyone else has anything else they think is similar, please let me know!

That's definitely a tough one. Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead is an almost one of a kind masterpiece in my eyes. You're right about it being a bit more accessible than usual, but it's just too damn good for anyone to care about that. I kind of disagree with most of the artists in Skinless' similar artists tab, but one that you might like is Katalepsy.
They are one of the few bands (among Skinless) that have done an amazing job at incorporating a lot of grooviness into brutal death metal, though the production on their album Autopsychosis is very different compared to that of TtWHtD. Then again, Skinless really nailed the production on TtWHtD and in doing so set themselves apart.

I'm looking forward to what others have to recommend though, as I too would love to hear something that sounds like TtWHtD.

Vomit Forth's "Northeastern Deprivation" comp is the closest thing I can think of.

Im looking for something like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34XfTL2TL7U

I mean not typicall classic growl but still not common polite vocal. It reminds me a little of Dethklok's vocal but I looking for something simpler like song above.

It reminded me a bit Peter's vocal approach, in particular the later Vader material, but probably you know them. If not jump straight to Welcome to the Morbid Reich

Fuck me that was completely terrible. Anyhow, I want to help, the first band that came to mind after watching that vid was Misery Loves Co. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiPENHSeFYM

Thanks dude! Disfigured, Swollen, Lead & Demigore are fantastic. One of the links you posted leads to a deleted YouTube video though, would you mind correcting that one in case you have another link to the same EP/demo?

Hahaha Necroment, I think you might've seen my list on RYM, lots of those are direct recommendations I've made. That Carnal Decimate is one of the sickest demos of all time. If you don't know what I'm talking about, peep this list I made, it's got about 1200 recommendations for y'all: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/Morguelo ... etal-gems/

Tekdeath, here's a few more brutal-as-fuck demos:

Reactor-The Tribunal Above (became Sickening Gore later, but this is may more tech, and came out in 1991!)
Agnosia-Ad Nauseam
Blood Clot-Gusher
Fallen Angel (DEN)-An Omen of Apocalypse; Embraced by Shadows
Grotesque Infection-Consumption of Human Feces
Traumasphere-Voidcall (some super crazy 2001 demo tech death I found recently, insane shit; also check the demo after they changed their name to Abyssal Suffering)
Body Bag-Severed Existence
Disinter-Crematory Consecration
Undertaker-Necro Thievery (shared members with Molester, the one Necroment posted, as well as Wicked Innocence, another sick band you should check out if you haven't)
Humanize-Unalternative Quest
Necrosis-Eternally Hanging Dead
Necrosis-The Prophet of Carnage (two separate bands)
Disgorged-Thy Hideous Wake
Gaffed-It Hurts to Be Dead
Necrolatry-Dead and Buried
Pyphomgertum-...to the Mesphil

Honestly, 90s (and ergo mostly demos and EPs) brutal death and tech death are my bread and butter. Just check out the list I posted and I promise you'll be set for the next few years of DM listening.

Thanks! I'll check these out too when I have the time. (I'll also try to check out your entire RYM list when I have even more time, lol)

There is one 90's death metal demo that I really love, and you guys might not know about it:

Grey - Suspended in Time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DA7veECUI0)
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Grey/3540358984

Let me know what you guys think about this one.

Seems not bad, but nothing special to me :)
There were so many interesting bands from NY besides this (and also from New Jersey and Rochester)

Yeah I basically agree with Necroment RE:Grey; kinda cool, but nothing super noteworthy. Still a cool find, and new to me, so thank you for sharing! And Necroment, I hadn't heard Lead before, so that one was a really sick find, thank you as well! You know your shit really well, dude. I hope you both enjoy my list!

You're welcome
Lead is truly a blast from the past, it’s a pity they didn’t record a full-lenght.

1.)Looking for more Gorguts(early) inspired shit.
2.)Looking for more Bolt Thrower sounding stuff.
3.)Looking for more like Jungle Rot.

More or less I am looking for groovy sounding stuff the kind that was created by the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation etc.

Sarkasm - Inner Flame

Sounds very similar to Erosion of Sanity-era Gorguts. I'm almost convinced Luc Lemay modeled that album after this demo in addition to Suffocation/Atrocity.

Yes that's a decent record albeit a bit esoteric but not too much to be able to enjoy. I'm always looking out for aggressive death metal. My reference point is always Slayer, Vader, Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation and I enjoy a lot of death/thrash as well such as Kreator, Sodom, Destruction etc.

EDIT:I just heard Sarkasm inner flame again and damn if it isn't good. Really hard hitting DM.

I got a question about Cryptopsy's 'Blasphemy Made Flesh' 25th anniversary edition.

How is the live DVD (live at Regina, Canada, 1995)??!?! One camera magic, same as found on Youtube?

If you're still looking for Cannibal Corpse type stuff check out this neat demo from the other Exhumed. Definitely in the vein of the first two CC albums.

Infestment from Maggot Stomp is also a cool homage to the original CC sound.

You could be more specific here - are you talking about bands that use plenty of acoustic guitars and keyboards? Any bands you have in mind that fit the ''atmospheric'' criteria?

Are you already familiar with Appalling Spawn, the pre-Lykathea Aflame band? I'd also recommend Kataklysm's Sorcery.

Help. Can someone recommend some good stuff in the vein of SEVERE TORTURE.

I am already familiar with everything that's written in the similar artists section on MA.

Cheers!

I’m not sure if anyone has answered this in this thread or a different thread, but I've been pretty interested in Morbid's "December Moon" demo with its mix of death metal and black metal. I'm interested in checking out other demos with a similar sound of "December Moon". Any suggestions?
