Get some Iron Monkey, Dystopia, Crowbar and Soilent Green (although they have more grind/death elements in their work).

Check out The Fall of Every Season. The album "From Below" is excellent.

Whoever hasn't heard Thou should definitely check them out - they've put out two fantastic albums in the last couple of years, Tyrant and Peasant. Hard to describe the music except to say it's a blend of sludge, doom, and black metal (mostly in the vocals). For anyone who likes Burning Witch.

Iron Monkey is more of a sludge band than a stoner band.

Electric Wizard's Dopethrone has less accessible vocals, though I wouldn't call it straight-up "harsh."

Ataraxie is great, and so are, both, Esoteric, and Pantheist. Big thanks to both of you, and if you guys have some more names in your notebooks, don't hesitate to drop them down.

Cheers.

IMO it's a record in a league of itself. Don't forget to check out their first album "The Strength to Dream" - it hasn't the same flow as "Watching..." but is awesome nonetheless.

So you're basically looking for slow, old-school sounding and aggressive Death/Doom with some fast parts here and there. Maybe with some synths too, right?
Ceremonium is another band to look for, quite similar to Evoken at times.

Indesinence and Morgion should be good too.

Lately I've been in love with Acid King. Among other things it's the female vocals. I'm not usally a fan of that in metal but I find they go really good with stoner/doom.

Can somebody please recommend some stoner/doom with female vocals. I'm more interested with bands from the stoner side of the spectrum.

I'm already aware of Witch.

The only one I can think of is Subrosa who are quite good, the violin is used effectively which is impressive. Besides that there are some good riffs here and there, and the vocals are decent both clean and harsh.

Perhaps (older) Reino Ermitaño. Their lastest album was more on the doom metal side. They are influenced by Acid King amongst other things.

I quite frankly haven't followed metal in quite awhile so I haven't heard most bands past the mid 90's. I appeciate the recs. Keep them coming.

I'm in desperate need of some Epic Doom Metal, as it is a genre I really like but for some reason have barely any knowledge of. I'm looking for some stuff with powerfully consonant melodies, heavy riffing, soaring vocals, and an overall atmosphere of foreboding yet epic darkness. I absolutely love Candlemass' debut and I'm also quite found of Doomsword and Isole. All help will be deeply appreciated.

I assume you know of Solitude Aeturnus. If not, get pretty much any of their early albums (their first two are the most awesome)

Aside from that, Solstice's Lamentations is awesome.

Well Skepticism are releasing a new album. These guys are pretty much straight up funeral doom (if you haven't heard them), but a new track I heard had a nice subtle guitar melody in it that sucked me in. You may enjoy that.

Just ordered diSEMBOWELMENT's Transcendence Into The Peripheral off amazon.com, mainly due to its amazing reviews on the archives. Not too sure what to expect, since some call it funeral doom, but the page says "Doom/Death Metal with Grind influences". Can anyone describe more what it's like, or anything it is similar to?

I think this is the third time I recommend it in this thread:

Solstice - New Dark Age

Your description is pretty much accurate, actually.

EDIT: Haha, damn, I just saw that Unholy_Asar recommended their debut a couple of posts above. Well, I think the follow-up is better.

Both Solstice albums are worth getting!

I'm exploring mid-paced sludgey doom, any recs aside from Iron Monkey/eyehategod/all the well-known influential bands? Good riffs are a must. Picked up a new self-titled album called "Salome", it's pretty good, and I worship Heavy Lord from Holland.

It's a great album for a start, you're gonna love it. Somewhat tough to describe since not much else sounds like it! Basically, it's death/doom, of a very dirty and powerful kind. It's pretty slow a lot of the time which is why some will call it funeral, but to me funeral doom requires more than just slow playing, having its own distinct style, and I will never call refer to this album as such. But this very powerful death doom has many moments of beauty littered throughout the album, some clean vocals, intelligent lyrics, and most notably, it often breaks out into grindcore-style drumming and riffing. It's a surprising juxtaposition but it works well. I'm not eloquent enough to fully convey the mood and tone of the album, though, so if the reviews are insufficient for you then you will just have to wait and find out!

Some could describe as "extremely slowed down death metal"... it's more than just that though, and I wouldn't call it Funeral Doom either, though their influence on Funeral Doom is pretty big.
Evoken have some similarities with them, especially in the use of clean guitars and the clean vocals ForNaught mentioned.
Ataraxie's first album too, in the way how the music goes from really slow to extremely fast parts.

Not much else I can think of, they're pretty unique.
