Recently I stumbled upon Midnight Odyssey. It reignited my interest in such music.
So I'd want to find something really atmospheric and spacey (not in, say, cheesy Keldian way but really spacey). No prog overcomplication - space is simple. No dirty fuzzy sound - space is pure. No extreme vocals. Just vast clean sound, vast clean vocals, epic, atmosphere, cosmos, meaningful lyrics, maybe mythology, maybe sci-fi, maybe a mix of both and something else. Synths are welcome of course. And still metal in spirit (if not in form).

Thanks in advance.

Star One, especially song 'Starchild'.

Oh yes, they're marvellous. I know them, of course. But they border on psychodelic for me while psychodelic is not exactly what I'm looking for.

Them I do know too, of course. But honestly Arjen's works are not very really spacey for me, more of traditional heavy/power/prog metal just with sci-fi tint.

Mundanus Imperium?

Also I recently discovered Carrier Flux is still active but I haven't heard any of the guy's new stuff, I just know the old demos and they sound like they'd fit the thread, the goal back then was basically to play atmospheric black metal (of the turn of the century variety, aka Norwegian Grammy winner metal) with only clean vocals and no harsh vocals, maybe the project got even better at it later on, would have to listen.

Full Moon - S/T (1989)

The archives describes them as epic heavy metal meets space rock. Quite an apt description, and a very cool sound all in all.

Yes, it's kinda proggy space rock. Psychodelic vibe again though. But I want no bong smoke and no acid smack now. Just the cold vast Space where Gods dwell among the stars.

Well, maybe there's some ambient/atmospheric doom bands with clean sound and vocals? Doom looks perfectly fit for spacey spirit.

Check this out: Arcane Voidsplitter - Voice Of The Stars

I think there's nothing more cosmic than this.

edit: in retrospect, it seems this project isn't quite what you asked for... I leave it here for others though.

Try this:

There are some harsh vocals at the end but everything else pretty much fits the criteria.
