Holy shit, this song is better than anything they have done already. I was very dissapointed in The Cleansing but Im looking forward to this. They always sounded like they had potential to be awesome and this seems like its their reaching further into their potential.

Yeah, this song "Lifted" is better, for sure. I might get the album when it's released.

The current band photo is shit. The guy at the forefront looks like CG.

The first metalcore album I listened to was Waking the Fallen by Avenged Sevenfold. I liked it a lot, especially the vocals. Unfortunately, they are nowhere as great as they used to be now, they became a mainstream heavy metal band with City of Evil, and since then they haven't been as good, they became a slightly overrated hard rock band with their newest album, much different from what they were in their first album, they were metalcore band with a lot of punk influence at that time. Most of their newer fans are mallcore too. I miss their old stuff.

I found avenged sevenfold fucking awesome when I first heard them but now they are just repeating all there songs. I only like their 1st album cause I thought I was tough, But now the ways of cannibal corpse and All shall perish have changed that but i am not saying I feel tough it is just like a bigger fuck you to everybody else's music. Good bands (my opinion):
All Shall Perish
Last House On The Left
Whitechapel
Veil Of Maya
The Agonist (I don't know what genre they are but they are still fucking cool) :)

Well, on my thread about mexican metal, zervyx I believe, rec'd me Here Comes the Kraken, and said they where the best deathcore he/she/it had heard from Mexico. Figuring them a bunch of "fresas" (generic term for middle and uper middle class mexicans), I checked them out nevertheless. I loved them.

Could anyone rec me a similar band. Or album. Varied deathcore that has memorable breakdowns with some nice soloing in it to. Any country, of course. Thanks in advance.

Suicide Silence is garbage. Their new material is just a sad attempt...
8 string guitars? Really? What the fuck do they need them for?

The only good deathcore that exists is the band that has redefined the sound, Whitechapel. All Shall Perish as well.

Oceano is decent act, but their new release is a complete beat-off to Whitechapel. "With Legions"? Are you serious? Much more chug-chug, half-timed breakdowns makes them watered down WC. Which is disgusting. Numerous instrumental tracks, both of which are imitation "Of Legions" and "Death Becomes Him". Their leads just make me laugh.

Impending Doom is another band to jump on the WC-sound bandwagon and present much more originality than Oceano's latest, which is a bit of an oxymoron. Nonetheless, the only track I can give a listen to so far is "More Than Conquerors" due to its nice groove instilled mid-way through the song.

Converge and the Dillinger Escape Plan are amazing. I'm highly anticipating Converge's new album. DEP should be putting out a new album sometime this year as well. If they do, I will be a very very happy boy. :D

That new Suicide Silence song is actually really good. Vocals are still shit.

Anyways, can someone give some bands similar to Earth Crisis?

No...no...the new Suicide Silence is just as terrible as the past Suicide Silence.

And the vocals always have been shit and always will be shit until Mitch realizes hes not as cool or as good as he is.

Check out Fallen Figure...decent currently unsigned deathcore act that manages to keep it heavy with a bit of melodic influence here and there. They've got potential.

I have always hated Avenged Sevenfold. Even when they played metalcore they still sucked. Their first 2 (maybe 3, Dont remember) albums always seemed to sound like poorly written songs with not much substance.

Well that's because you've most likely only heard the song Unholy Confessions, like all of the other people who think Waking the Fallen sucks. Either that, or most of the songs you heard were from Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. Listen to Second Heartbeat, Desecrate Through Reverence, I Won't See You Tonight (Part 2), and Eternal Rest. If you still don't like them, then whatever. Regardless, I think we can both agree that they were still better than they are now.

I should tell my Spanish teacher about them, because she's from Mexico, I wonder what her reaction would be if I showed her a song. :D

Ive heard all thise before. I remember my buddy use to love them and absolutely despised them when they released City Of Evil. He always tried to get me into them but I never could hear what was so amazing about them. Even at their heaviest and most chaotic they still have a pop sound/feel to them to some degree. Back when I listened to metalcore I always perfered other bands over them.

I don't really know what newer Killswitch Engage sounds like, so sorry if this is completely off-base, but for some good deathcore with lots of electronic elements I recommend We Butter the Bread with Butter and Dance Club Massacre. The names are goofy as fuck, but the music is pretty fun.

"Indulgence", Godless Crusade

The only "Deathcore" influenced song that I enjoy at the moment, and it is heavily mixed with Blackened Death Metal. Not that I'd expect it would last a moment before it is picked apart and torn into shreds by the many weaknesses it has (thankfully, breakdowns aren't one of them).

Metalcore, I'm a bit more accepting to, but I have nothing spectacular at this particular moment.

I personally love deathcore but dont care for metalcore (anymore). Its weird because through the years my taste grew heavier and heavier. This is before i truely became a fan of music as apose to just a fan boy to what ever I was currently into. I went from the likes of Metallica/Iron Maiden, To Pantera/Slayer, To Trivium/Chimaira. Then I got into deathcore because it was the only thing heavier that I was right in front of my face. Then I got into real death metal and all the other more extreme genres. My veiw of music was altered for life. My favorite styles of music are all the sub genres within Death Metal so it would only make sence for me to accept Deathcore over metalcore.

That would be the same with me, and I find myself rapidly drifting away from Metalcore as well. My non-Metal genres in my playlist have shrunk rather than increased over the past few months, with practically only extreme Metal with sustained growth.

I have very odd musical tastes, possibly even among certain members of this forum. I rarely listen to any Metalcore that isn't Melodic, as I haven't heard a single 'pure'-Metalcore band that has anything on any of the other extreme metal and crossover genres. Bands such as FATA come to mind as being relatively interesting, but even that is starting to fade, as I begin a pursuit of Technical DM and BM.

Three lesser known bands that I highly recommend to anybody into deathcore:

Decades of Despair - Excellent melodic deathcore. The best way I could describe this is that it is Black Dahlia Murder worship, but with deathcore breakdowns, and brutal low vocals. They have only released one EP, titled Throes of the Wretched. It's very good.

And Hell Followed With - Good, super heavy deathcore. They are most easily comparable to Oceano and Whitechapel, but with melodic breaks akin to Conducting from the Grave and some piercing high vocals. Their first full length is out, titled Domain. I highly recommend it. The only complaint I have is that their low vocals are extremely processed, to the point of sounding robotic. The rest of the music more than makes up for this, though.

Die Like Kidd - I'd best describe them as hardcore/deathcore. They have plenty of very hardcore oriented riffs that lead into ultra-brutal deathcore parts. Super fun, especially live. They have a single song that can be purchased through iTunes entitled "Judgement." Very catchy. Unfortunately, they have no other releases, and the last I heard of them was that they broke up to start a pop-punk band :ugh:

I found a few gems while going on one of my downloading sprees.

Here Comes the Kraken
After the Burial
The Eyes of a Traitor
Burning the Masses
The Breathing Process (although on here they're Symphonic black/death metal)

The TS didn't specify what he was looking for.... whatsoever

I'll just post my favorite metalcore/deathcore bands

Metalcore:
Hell Within
Between the Buried and Me (loosely defined as metalcore)
Becoming the Archetype
Unearth

Deathcore:
Animosity
All Shall Perish
The Faceless (sort of deathcore)
War From a Harlot's Mouth (early)

What everyone needs to understand is that BTBAM is not deathcore or metalcore -- they are a prog rock band with metal influence.

And The Faceless have little -core influence since PD. Breakdowns, at least done in their style, don't pertain to -core influence.

The new Suicide Silence is FUCKING AWESOME (got a promo from Archaic Magazine). Some very unique breakdowns (yes, I know a lot of people use that to justify their love for certain deathcore bands but really, listen to the album when its out) and a lot more depth in the overall music than before. The screaming gets grind-ish at times along with the riffs but overal its just deathcore - damn good at that. Production's an improvement, feels more fleshy and organic than before while at the same time retaining the mechanical intensity. I was about to interview the band too, but I decided to quit AM. A shame, really. I was looking forward to talking to them.

Before being removed from the Archives, BTBAM was classified as metalcore. I believed that is false, but just going by the Archives' standards.

That's why I put "sort-of" deathcore for The Faceless. Akeldama was more -core

Mexican deathcore? That's interesting. :)

From what I heard, they sounded alright, but I haven't really taken too much of an interest in them. I'll have to give some more time to them to determine whether it's good enough to buy.
