Dephosphorus I enjoy so much but it's just not good enough for me to spring for a release that's 27euros.

Hahaha. Halo of Flies is great, them along with To Live A Lie (when their store used to actually be open) are my regulars for buying punk/grind.

I am the epitome of diy. But I believe in making things as easy as possible for a customer. I just don't like emailing someone and then they have to get back to me about shit. I just find that annoying esp when half the stuff has add to cart buttons and the other half doesn't... that's not diy. that's lazy ass.

what do you guys recommend to a huge fan of anaal nathrakh and the berzerker? I tend to not like pure grind much (from what I've heard of a few pig destroyer and insect warfare songs).

If you like anal neckwriath and the berzerker you'd probably like cleaner more well produced bands. Because of that, I'd suggest Nasum, Splitter, The arson project, Rotten Sound (cycles or exit), Misery index's retaliation or their first album, and Afgrund.

But as for anal neckwraith's earlier style, you'd probably enjoy crazier more dark grindcore.

thedowngoing's off the wall-ness and noisy attack might appeal to you.
pig destroyer's prowler in the yard is an amazing and dark album so if you don't know that one you should be sure to spend quality time with it.

Check out insect warfare's split with Agoraphobic nosebleed. Both bands put on quite a show and I think it'd appeal to you.

While Dephosphorus might not be like the two bands you mentioned, they've done a great job of melding black metal as well as other influences with grindcore. Check out their latest album, night sky transform.

Dephosphorus are ok, but just don't strike a chord in me. also, they're a bit punky for my taste. on the other hand, axis of perdition sound very promising from that 1 song. it has a whirling apocalyptic and esoteric feel. I actually downloaded that album many months back but deleted it because I'd gone overboard and downloaded more than I could digest.

indeed!

I found Nasum's Helvete on youtube and really enjoyed it- if this is considered pure grindcore then this is how I like my grind. But then I started listening to Nasum's Inhale/Exhale and wasn't feeling it. perhaps they'll be a hit-or-miss band to me.

Sorry to hear that, I'm not crazy about how it sounds either but man those tunes are awesome. Apparently them, SBB, Osk, Cloud Rat, and some other band are playing a show soon somewhere in Canada...I'd LOVE to go to that gig.

PH5 were surprisingly great. one of those bands with a fucking dumb name that play good music. split with Infernal's great. Saw them live and the guitarist broke his strings and used a bass for the whole set. And it was still a pretty good set.

I always like finding bands with goofy names that are really killer. like PH5, or California Love, Pretty Little Flower... working on a band with a guy called Pedostache

New-ish Atlanta band. Heavy jams, lots of d-beats n stuff, some modern hardcore leanings that turn me off a bit but FleshMonolith, you will dig fo sho.

Also, on the Atlanta tip:

I rec'd these dudes a little while back but they just put some new shit up on their bandcamp that's pretty good... they need to drop the breakdown garbage they throw in though... shit would be WAY more ripping if they cut that shit out and just stuck to the blasty nasties... oh well, maybe I'm just too picky.

'ppreciate you looking out for my thuginess, but I hate production jobs like this. like some button that says "sterile metal" that they can just press. Would probably be better if they stuck with a kinda late 80's hardcore production job/guitar tone.

God's balls on the other hand, fuck yeah. I actually agree with you about the breakdowns. that first song didn't need a breakdown, especially that long.

Haha total agree on the production but all that beatdown/modern type hardcore sounds like that to me so I just chock it up to that sound.

I think my beef with God's Balls is that the fast parts are really good but they spend more time being slow than being fast... and they don't do 'slow' all that well. That and I'm sick of every band from Atlanta having to throw in some slow sludgy bs. JUST PLAY FAST ALREADY EEEEUUUUUGHGHGHGHGGHHHHHH

You can't dance to fast parts, duh.

That said I didn't think the breakdowns were too excessive, I was more annoyed by the stereotypical whistling feedback.

Any good recommendations for bands along the lines of Wormrot? And by that I mean grind with good amount of groove and varied vocals ranging from guttural growls to screeches.

Madudergrind's S/T or Rehashed. I think rehash is better, but the S/T's more square in grind territory. although, wormrot's latest was a bit into PV territory, so forget what i've said and just listen to Rehashed or the split with Shitstorm.
