Always been a huge fan of the thrash Sepultura, and I still seek bands that play shit like 'Beneath the Remains' and 'Arise'. Ideas, people?

I would check out the early to mid '80s Brazilian thrash scene. Try Sarcofago.

Ask for it in the thrash metal help thread.

I'm not quite sure, but perhaps Demolition Hammer's ''Epidemic of Violence'' Sounds a lot more brutal though.

@The guy above:

He's asking for thrash metal and not the kind of black/death/thrash metal hybrids, such as the 80's extreme metal releases of South America.

As for Sarcofago, they are nice, but I want it more crushing and not so black metal. I want it sounding pissed and fucked up, though.

Crionic is similar, and their Different album is free, along with the rest of their discography.

Besieged (Can) used to be Sepultura-esque, but lately (at least when I saw them live) they seem to be going in a more melo death influenced thrash style (like Blood Tsunami or something)

I would like to recommend my country men, Sultans of Snap. They kinda sound like the old Seplutura (without being bias, I find SoS better).

Old stuff by Gladiator (svk), especially their "Made Of Pain" album. Another form of total old Sepultura-worship is Andralls. Brazilian act by the way.
And riffwise, Magnetron on their 2008 "Born Wiltess" demo. But they're vocally more comparible to old Kreator.

Yeah, Gladiator were pretty awesome. Didn't they turn pop, or am I thinking of a different Slovakian band?

Gammacide and Exhorder's 'Slaughter in the Vatican' is brutal as Sepultura's 'BTR' and 'Arise'.

cheers to whoever said andralls, that's a straight-up lift of sepultura's style. also, hey man, just be happy with the good albums sepultura did, and move on. who really wants to listen to a band that just lifts someone else's style?
