Ok, I am really a noob when it comes to Joy Division and post-punk in general. But I think Hateful Abandon might be what your looking for(myspace: http://www.myspace.com/hatefulabandon). Let me know how you like it.

This is a very tough rec, but I am definitely interested in what this thread produces.

Awesome, I certainly will try them out. I know about the obvious ones, I am really hoping someone can bring some new stuff into here. I haven't heard hateful abandon, but I will check it now!

Nah, they are much more shoegazer influenced, although I can hear a bit in there. I was thinking more along the lines of Circle of Ouroboros, Urfaust, Lifelover *at times*, Joyless, Nuit Noire, Soror Dolorosa, etc.

Somnolence (US), Onryo (no albums out yet, only a few songs), Sancta Poenas, Sanctus Daemoneon, Feos, Shyy (only two songs on a compilation) and Wither (Aus) has one song called Cosmos which is extremely influenced by Post-Punk.

Sorry, I don't have anything to contribute, but this is interesting. I would love to see more results.
