Anyone know any metal songs or bands with surfing themes? Even a metal cover of Dick Dale's "Miserlou"?

Hm, the closest thing that comes to mind is the Municipal Waste song 'Terror Shark.' I know that it's a custom to bring boogie boards to their shows and crowd surf.

Oooh, I've been wondering this too. If you listen to Mr. Bungle's California, there are several songs with surf rock incorporated (This Air-Conditioned Nightmare and Ars Moriendi, for example), but California isn't quite metal. However, it's brilliantly (genre) mixed music. It certainly left me wanting more "surf metal."

Only thing i know of is Sodom's awesome cover of "Surfin' Bird," and Ghoul's little surf rock moments, but that's jsut straight up surf rock. I think it could be very fitting in metal, i was jamming with a friend yesterday and we were doing a surf rock kinda thing and he just started playing this black metal riff and it fit perfectly.

Blind Guardian has a cover of "Surfin' USA", though almost everyone knows this already. And one cover song doesn't really count as a theme.

Alchemist's Nothing In No Time definitely sports images of people crashing the waves. Its probably the "surfiest" metal song I know of. Hope that helps.

I would suppose it's the kind that evokes pictures of tropical waves or something like that - perhaps something reminiscent of surf rock.

See under Link Wray and early Beach Boys.

Bleach Boys are a great surf/punk band from TX. also The Southern Beach Terror are a sick surf band. Not metal really but still killer

Evile has a song about sharks, but I am not sure that helps.
