I'm looking for BM with thrash influences kinda like Immortal's "At the Heart Of Winter" or "Damned In Black" albums or something, but less mainstream. I'm not looking for blackened thrash so don't reccomend me no Morbid Saint or Sodom because I already heard them and don't reccomend me any Aura Noir or blah blah blah, I want REAL black metal with thrash-like riffage and real black metal vocals. Thanks in advance.

To name some obvious ones, if they count: Sarcofago and early Bathory.

Actually, to be honest, Absu sounds like what you're looking for. They aren't really a blackened thrash band, but a black metal band at the core, with thrashy influences after the fact.

Have you ever heard Patecabra from chile? It sounds really oldschool , if you want something with less speed metal influence lemme know.

I'll second Absu. Also, maybe Razor Of Occam, a band i found myself while looking for similar blackened thrash?

Necromessiah, Gospel of the Horns, Bestial Mockery. According to MA they're all "Black/Thrash" but don't worry, their sound is nowhere near Sodom, it could very well be defined as Black Metal with Thrash influences.

Another probably obvious recommendation is Tsjuder - Desert Northern Hell.

First of all, Venom is not black metal. Or thrash. They're NWOBHM with Satanic lyrics, and by no means do they have "real black metal vocals."

I'm not one hundred percent sure if this is what the OP is looking for, but try Ungod's Circle of the Seven Infernal Pacts. Infernal War's Redesekration also falls into the request's spectrum. And if Sarcofago works, then also look into Holocausto and Vulcano, other Brazilian proto-black metal acts.

Vulture Lord would be perfect.
Pure evil, blasphemous, hateful black metal with a big thrash influence.

A heavy fucking second to Infernal War, they're incredibly fast and brutal, but the thrash element is definitely there.

Also, definitely check out Destruktor. Their Nuclear Storm EP should fit your needs quite nicely.

Would suggest Destroyer 666, Destruktor, Hellacaust, Infernal Stronghold, Summon(us), Bestial Mockery, and Obeisance, all of which are a bit rougher than the Immortal you've suggested. Absu's latest fits most with the Immortal you're talking about, as well as Skeletonwitch, they both come off a bit inoffensive and have really clean production similar to Immortal's later output.

I think if you're asking for a literal combo of the genres, bands like Witchtrap and Warripper might fit the bill, as well as older Toxic Holocaust, Hell's Headbanger's is a good label to snoop around if black/thrash is your thing.

Venom isn't Black Metal? Wether you like it or not Venom's "Black Metal" is Black Metal at it's purest form.

No, they just coined the term (or used it first on their album).

I recommend D666 also.

Black Metal was rough-edged NWOBHM with Satanic tendencies. The Satanism is the only thing "black" about it.

Yes, Deströyer 666 is an amazing band - but instead of simply fueling the recommendation further, I'll suggest you listen to Cold Steel. "Black City - Black Fire" is just :headbang: Not exactly sure if the vocals are quite what the OP wants, though.

Second wave Black Metal is not original Black Metal. Venom both coined the term and used it for their own music. Along came bands like Bathory and Celtic Frost playing a heavier type of Black metal and then came Norwegian Black metal with the second wave.

Black Metal is Venom. End of story.

I don't want to derail the thread further, so please understand this: even if Venom were black metal, it wouldn't fit the request because, as I said before, they don't have thrash riffs and black metal vocals!

Norwegian Black Metal Vocals are not the same as Black Metal vocals. Black Metal vocals are Cronos's vocals and the heavier version of them are Quorthons vocals(which later on was a huge inspiration on NBM vocals). Not even legends like Fenriz try to deny that Venom is pure Black Metal.

I think you guys should get a room, genre stamping like this really doesn't help anyone, not to mention when it's a moot point like this one.

@the OP:

All those are great recommendations as black metal but I think Aura Noir would be a band that would hit your target the closest for what you are looking for. Also try the band Old(Ger). Like Aura Noir, they are also signed to Fenriz's Tyrant Syndicate label which is geared for thrash rather than straight black.

Agreed, and Satyricon? Thrash? They're hardly even black metal anymore, and even their early material isn't thrashy.

yeah, he might as well just have recommended Dimmu Borgir while he was at it. I do like me some Satyricon. Especially the early stuff but they hardly contain the type of thrash heard from Hellhammer inspired bands.

Get Forgotten Horror's demo as long as it is available for download: http://www.forgottenhorror.com

Now that is evil thrash! No fancy melodies, just brutality.

Tormentor's Anno Domini?

Might be too "blackened thrash" but IMO it's far more black than thrash. Great album either way!

Satyricon were thrash as fuck on Night Of The Triumphator.
Probably the best song they every wrote too.

The most obvious would be SABBAT from Japan.

Also, check out Sodomizer, Sauron(US), Witchtrap, Deathhammer, Nifelheim, Merciless Onslaught and Infernal Majesty.

Definitely Svartsyn. Pure black metal with a lot of good thrash riffing. Listen to ... His Majesty. If you prefer more of a raw closer to first wave of black metal sound then listen to their Tormentor EP.

Blasphemous Creation. This band simply rocks. Sounds like Destroyer 666 meets Dissection to me. One of my favorite bands and I have been waiting for an album forever. I should keep pimping this band till everyone here has listened to them.
