Hello everyone!

My request will most likely sound too broad by the site's rules, but I have been out of the BM scene for a couple of years now and need to update the music I listen to these days.

Are there any good current releases (2018-2019) from bands with a sound similar to Sargeist (Let The Devil In, Unbound), Mgla (Exercises, Age of Excuse), Drudkh, Nokturnal Mortum (Voice of Steel), Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Deathspell Omega and Blut Aus Nord (Memoria Vetusta I)? I've already listened to some of the new stuff put out by these bands, but feel free to recommend other stuff by the members on those.

I know it's a bit much, but hopefully someone out there can help me get up to date.

Selbst - Selbst
Void omnia - Dying light
Uada - Devoid of light
Drastus - La croix de sang
Gevurah - Hallelujah!
Dodecahedron - Kwintessens
Fuath - I
Wędrujący wiatr - O turniach jeziorach i nocnych szlakach
A lot of Icelandic stuff, like Svartidaudi, Misthyrming, Sinmara, Zhrine and so on
Ecc

About The voice of steel and Memoria vetusta I, I love both but I don't know

Khors's Return to Abandoned album is probably as close as you're going to get to The Voice of Steel by a different band. It does have Nokturnal Mortum's (now former) keyboard player also playing keys on it too though. https://khors1.bandcamp.com/album/return-of-abandoned

NSBM, sadly, but very similar to Mgła. Their music is constantly being taken down from Youtube. If you can't find a free downloads, I can send you those albums. It would be a shame to buy them.

Say what now? Why would it be a shame to buy albums over a download? Also, it doesn't sound that much like Mgla.

I've already listened to some of the new stuff put out by these bands, but feel free to recommend other stuff by the members on those.

If you want some DsO-like stuff, you gotta check some albums from Iceland. Svartidauði "Revelations of the Red Sword" (2018) and Carpe Noctem "Vitrun" (2018), for example.
If you like Sargeist and finnish BM, there have recently been some other good finnish stuff, for instance, Sarastus "Enter the Necropolis" (2019) and Phlegein "Devotion" (2018). And Horna released a great compilation "Kasteessa kirottu" last year.
Uada "Cult of a Dying Sun" (2018) is a solid Mgła-like album.
Talking about Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, there's another great female-fronted (even utterly female) band Asagraum, which released its new album "Dawn of Infinite Fire" right today.
By the way, today is a release date of some other cool stuff, which is quite DsO-ish as well - Kostnatění "Hrůza zvítězí". Don't miss it, as well as the project's previous year release "Konec je všude".
Also I can recommend a one of my favorites of 2018 - Cultes des Ghoules "Sinister, or Treading the Darker Paths".
I think, that will be a good start for you.

Exactly.
It's not Mgła clone, but the riffs and rhythms are very melodic and enjoyable.

Not sure if Ill get any reply for this one, but anyway Im looking for proper post black, not blackgaze stuff like Deafheaven and similars, more like Altar of Plagues that goes for post metal, The Great Old Ones, or even more experimental bands like Downfall of Gaya that plays with sludge/doom and post rock. Actually any post black that doesnt have shoegaze and massive hardcore influence will work. But the overral sound must clearly black metal. Instrumental is ok but I prefer with vocals, the fewest the better.

Agrypnie maybe? It's pretty heavy on the vocals though.

It's a shame to financially support nazis, you obtuse, ridiculous person. We think Nazis are bad, and we don't like to give them money.

This is the best recommendation for something like Voice of Steel. The second best suggestion is Khram by the Russian Arkona. The style is actually somewhat different, with more prog-rock-like compositions and more emphasis on diverse vocal leads, but it has a similar spirit of fusing black metal with rockin' folk vibes and sentimental epicness.

Flagellum Dei also fits this description.

Yeah but the earlier stuff is the "super fast/heavy" stuff, Tormented Belief and later stuff is more dark and atmospheric, the earlier stuff is a lot more blasty and in the face.

Gaerea is a good band from Portugal. They aren't blisteringly fast or anything, but they have a reasonable pace for black metal, kind of like Mgła.

Thank you, yeah i do like mgła, ok not hyperspeed but mostly decent fast ish tempo. And nice melodies too, have you heard Mgła’s latest album? Really good i thought, did you like those bands i recommended?

Dolentia, Cripta Oculta, Inverno Eterno, Decayed, Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, InThyFlesh, Morte Incandescente. And I second Corpus Christii.

The dead body of Christ has been a major topic in black metal lyrics for a long time, being considered both a prime target for physical abuse and an ideal sexual partner.

Hey guys, can anyone recommend me any black metal bands/songs that have really distinct, CATCHY choruses?
I'm looking for stuff similar to the following:

Anything by Anaal Nahkrakh
Sign - Inked in Blood
Black Magick SS - Taget
Peste Noire - Songe Viking

Roma Divina Urbs by Aborym
Metal Bitch Inferno by Abigail
Assassins by Nachtmystium
Ukraine by Nokturnal Mortum

And of course a lot of Dissection, Sigh, and Marduk Songs (Black Horizons, Where Dead Angels Lie, Death with Dishonor, Hail Horror Hail, Batpism by Fire...)

On first glance the list misses the Polish Arkona and Hellveto, both highly suggested

morn_of_solace nails it, all those polish black metal recommendations are seriously lacking arkona. their early stuff is nothing but mandatory, but from what I could gather from your personal taste, you might like later arkona better.
do check out kataxu if you like symphonic BM a la early emperor.
if you don't shy away from TTF-related stuff, fullmoon's united aryan evil is amazing. another rather obscure rec is immorten-friedhofsmond, great stuff that was rereleased by werewolf promotion a while ago.

Thanks to everyone so far, Arkona i will have to check out then, and Cultes des Ghoules also sound interesting, so they also have albums with longer songs and shorter tracklisting, like with mgla and wolves in the throne room. Are they like either of those? They seem to be rated pretty highly amongst the fans on here too

Evilfeast have been the best Polish black metal I've heard in a while. Sorta like a less cheesy Odium.
