Awesome job, guys. They've all been accepted, and I'll update the list. G One, if you're able to add whatever additional information you can to on those band's pages, that would be great - for example, that ThyEdge contained members of Edge of Mortality (I added it, since it was in the submission). The more you're able to include on there, the better chance that others can continue to research and find more information to fill out those pages. Thanks!

Submitted/pending. - Stoned Forest
Spoiler: show
Location: Greece - further info below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96g8njXDpO8
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Vorphalack/3169
https://vorphalack.tripod.com/intochoros.html
(this might actually be enough to submit them, so feel free to do so if that is the case. I didn't look carefully at these links)

Submitted/pending. - Defect
Spoiler: show
Location: Athens, Attica, Greece
Genre: "Art speed metal" (self-description)
Band member: Panayotis Anagnostou ( https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... tou/140834 )
- this information comes from The Corroseum. The band released 2 demo tapes prior to splitting up in 2001.

Needs research. - Thorny Rose
Location: Netherlands
Genre: Assuming metal of some kind
Band member: Christian "Chuck" Colli - https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... olli/11647
- Thorny Rose had a write-up in Blasphemer 'zine #3 (1989), when they were first formed. At the time, they were planning to release a demo that year, and it is mentioned that some of the band's original songs were "Submission to Illusion," "Grace of the Rose," "Against All Winds," and "Social Quest." It's unknown whether or not the release took place. A picture of their logo is at the top of the article (which I can retrieve, thanks to The Corroseum, if they end up getting added)

Line-up:
Larry Hale – Guitar, vocals
Aaron Hathcock – bass, backing vocals
Boyd Murphy – Drums, backing vocals
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12uKlpSYtEI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMEiU2SLYuU

RReleased a single in 1994 (both songs above( and three demos.
The single has one heavy metal sonng and hone hard rock song, so I need aaudio files from their demos to determine, if the band is metal enough.
The releases: "Demos" 1994, "Live" 1994 and "Break The Chains Of Darkness" 1994. Both songs from the single are also on Break The Cahins Of Darkness:.
http://downthelinezine.com/cue/doku.php ... _vengeance
Proof of vr for the demos is also needed.
https://christiantapeunderground.wordpr ... nk-of-you/

This band can be removed from the list, since on the list of Mp3's , which I got from Spooky, is the demo listed as hard rock. Judging form that and the samples, it is most likely predominantly hard rock based.

Regarding Rockstill _ i think, that the band can be removed too, since the alavailable samples demonstrate, that the band plays hard rock:
https://www.soundclick.com/music/songIn ... ID=6236021
https://www.youtube.com/user/rockstill0 ... shelf_id=0
https://www.youtube.com/user/tjurac/vid ... shelf_id=0

(Spooky) - Both removed from the list; seems best not to pursue either of these bands based on the samples. Thanks.

More info:
Billm99uk: They also released an earlier two song tape in 1996 'Jet Stream Attack': https://i.imgur.com/qhNo68e.jpg
Saw a copy on Yahoo Auctions a few years ago and put in a bid but lost that one.
It does give the full line-up though: Hiroki Matsushima (Bass), Hiromichi Ishii (Drums) and Atsushi Watanabe (Guitars, Vocals). I'm assuming 'Matsukun' is the bassist as 'kun' is a common Japanese diminutive, something like 'Jnr.' in English.

Not to be mixed up with the slightly earlier (1987-1991?) Redrum (featuring Alkaloid (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Alkaloid/117874) vocalist Angel, who appeared on the famous Tokyo TV talent show 'Ikaten': https://youtu.be/gW4Q2wm2ktw
They also appeared in numerous Japanese music magazines of the period, such as 'Rockin'f', but I've never seen or read of a valid release from them.

Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/4343967-Thrillion

Added. - Prologue
Spoiler: show
Location: Japan
Listed genre: Heavy Metal
Band members: Bass – 芝田 "DON" 秀人, Drums – 島 "SIOUXSIE" 隆三, Guitars – 桑原 "Jangiy" 謙介, Vocals, Guitar – 中野 "NAOKI" 直樹
Discography: "I Need You" / "Still Love" 7" (Mix Records, cat# M-8405)
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/release/1574624 ... Still-Love

Added. - Knighttear
Spoiler: show
Location: Himeji, Hyogo, Japan
Listed genre: Melodic Power Metal
Band members: Tatsuya (guitars, backing vocals), Jeff (drums, program, backing vocals), Mayumi (vocals (lead, backing), Say-Yah! (bass, backing vocals), Tau (guitars, backing vocals)
Discography: 2 demo tapes in 1998: self-titled, and "Rise"
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/7903295-Knighttear

Needs research. - Aura
Location: Nashville, Tennessee, US
Listed genre: Hard Rock/Heavy Metal
Band members: Unknown
Discography: Self-titled 7" (track listing: Time to Fill/ Cross Bows/ Natas Dog)
https://www.discogs.com/release/14457021-Aura-Aura (compilation appearance listed at this site obviously not for the same band)

Rock. - Midnight Riders
Spoiler: show
Location: Southern New Jersey, US
Listed genre: AOR/Hard Rock (song titles seem more metal, though. Discogs is sometimes way off on genres)
Band members: S. Schelder (bass), J. Chynesky.
Discography: "Turmoil" EP (1984, cat# SH-84000-1; track listing: Gladiator/ Psychopathic Killer/ Jekyll & Hyde/ Everyday Affair; Shallow Hill Records, which is located in Sicklerville, New Jersey)
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/release/1348504 ... rs-Turmoil (according to a comment left here by someone who talked to the bassist, they disbanded around 1986)

Needs research. - Aquilla
Location: US
Listed genre: Heavy Metal
Band members: Unknown
Discography: "Rock the Night" / "Running Down" 7" (produced by Aquilla and Bobby Dutton)
https://www.discogs.com/release/1293983 ... -The-Night (compilation appearance listed here not by this Aquilla)

Needs research. - Thrill
Location: Japan
Genre: Heavy Metal with NWOBHM influence (?)
Band members: J. Ishikawa (vocals), T. Iijima (guitars), H. Uchida (bass), Y. Yamaguchi (drums)
Discography: one of 4 bands on this compilation: https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/P ... _85/984647
Corroseum: https://thecorroseum.org/comps/superrock85.php
- Their 2 tracks on this comp are described at the link above. First song: "Starts off really promising with a Powerful Metal chug, but somewhere around the bridge the vocals start turning sour and they kinda crash & burn. An interesting chorus would have saved they day, but no..." Second song: "In this energetic, slightly NWOBHM'y number there's less doodoo's in the vocal dept and their mix of Priest, Maiden and Motörhead once again becomes enjoyable." Wondering just how bad/long and into what kind of territories they crashed and burned during the first song.
- additional information from Billm99uk: were likely based out of Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture.

Tatsuya is Tatsuya Ono and Mayumi is 'Kinoppy', both of Windzor (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Windzor/21636). I think I read they left Knighttear to form Windzor basically.
I've got a copy of 'Rise' on order so I can do a submission if/when it arrives.

Great - I've gotten some more information about High Jacker as well, and they're good to submit now - will do so. If FireStorm sounds metal in those videos, particularly if they play songs that are from the CD that we have information about, feel free to submit them. Thank you.

Just received digital audio files of several items from the research thread, and gave them a listen.

Witcher, these bands can be added:
- Distant Early Warning (Heavy Metal/Hard Rock)
- Ruwach (Heavy/Thrash Metal)

Have sent Azmodes the files of this band - good to add in my opinion.
- Edison (Switzerland) - Heavy Metal/Hard Rock.

Removing from list:
- Blue Steel (US) - more rock than metal.
- Nightwatch - melodic rock, far from a metal sound.
- Prophecy (US) ("Sands of Fate" CD band) - more rock than metal.
- Scallawag (US) - more rock than metal.
- Scapegoat (Ger) - ("Paradise Lost" demo band) - 2 metal songs, 4 not.
- Sovereign Reign (Texas, US) - the first song is solid, and a couple of others have their moments, but pretty lightweight and more rock than metal as a whole.

Needs research. - Nuclear Vomit
Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky, US
Genre: Crossover/Thrash Metal
ReverbNation: https://www.reverbnation.com/realNuclearVomit
- this band sent me a demo around 2003/2004 that was recorded on a commercial blank tape, with no artwork (which I no longer own). It was recorded/released during this same time period. That may be enough for them to be added as a bare-bones submission, but more info if able to be obtained would be helpful.

Needs research. - Means to an End
Genre: Crossover(?)
Location: Thousand Oaks, California, US
Discography: Self-titled demo (1992)
- information and track list is in the bio section of Morbid Truth. This had been listed on their page, but was released after a significant name change.
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Mo ... ab_members
https://www.facebook.com/Morbid-Truth-1 ... 2332728814

Added. - Redemption
Spoiler: show
Genre: Heavy/Thrash Metal (early), Alternative Rock (later) - if accepted, it would be based on their 2 early releases.
Location: Chester County, Pennsylvania, US
Discography: "In Medias Res" demo 1992 (metal), "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" EP (alternative rock). Apparently they also had one more demo from when they were playing metal, and another release (title unknown) from after their sound changed.
Band members: Chris Oakes (rhythm guitar), Jason Silvester (lead guitar), Kevin Ruggieri (drums)
- It is mainly the audio that is needed here. I know that the tape was released, and am pretty sure that I could get a scan or picture of the j-card from a person who owns it.
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/fr/artist/3850068-Redemption-15

Needs research. - R.I.P. / Rest in Peace
Location: Athens, Attica, Greece
Genre: Speed/Thrash Metal
- the following article was in Mass Dementia #1 'zine, 1989. No demo out yet at the time. This is translated from Greek to English:
Spoiler: show
REST IN PEACE is an Athenian group consisting of the following members:
MILTOS - LEAD GUITARS / NICK - RHYTHM GUITAR & LEAD VOCALS / WOLF - BASS GUITAR / JOHNNY - DRUMS & PERCUSSION.
The music played by R.I.P. moves within the SPEED METAL with several THRASH elements, which are closer to the German school. Characteristic of the pieces is their technical structure. DEMO has not been released yet as they are still working on some pieces while others have already been completed.
Recently they gave a concert at the ROCK CLUB "AN" of Exarcheia in Athens. In it the R.I.P. participated as SPECIAL GUESTS together with DESPISE, DANGER CROSS & DARKEST COLOR. 3 tracks were played as well as the cover of GREAT BALLS OF FIRE (played by the former NIGEL FOXXE'S INC.) With the participation of NIGEL FOXX.E. In the future there is a possibility of announcing a concert or participation, but nothing is certain yet.
MILTOS gives the LEAD character of the group. He used to be a member of RIPPER with the same role (RIPPER disbanded as two members left due to military service).
NICE was the founder of RIPPER in which he used to play bass while at the same time he had taken over the vocals. He played for about half a year in INC. and appeared in some concerts that took place in Athens and Thessaloniki.
WOLF was also a member of INC. with whom he recorded 2 LPs. Now as a bassist he is also a member of the well-known SPITFIRE.
Finally, JOHNNY also played for INC. in which he was also a key executive. We believe that his potential as a drummer is well known.
So this was a MINI presentation by R.I.P. for those who did not happen to hear anything about them. Although I have not heard them, I think they should be quite a "deadly" band. I hope to hear some of their work soon.
X. JOKER
PS: All the above information was given to us by the collaborator of the group and authorized to respond to some letters sent to P. Economou, whom we thank.

Genre: Thrash Metal
- the following is a partial translation from Greek to English of an interview in Guillotine #2 'zine, 1990. No demo released yet at time of interview. Logo featured at the top of the article:
Spoiler: show
A few words about the band. DEATH STALKER was founded in 1985 and plays the classic THRASH. They consist of: Christos Papamichael (drums), Giannis Beka (guitar), Vassilis Perperidis (bass, vocals). Unfortunately now only Vassilis is left, who is looking for new members. The reasons for leaving (are not) given in the interview that follows.
Why did the two children leave?
There were many different reasons, but generally due to disagreements that arose from disagreements and other things. -But you continue. Do you have songs ready?
Yes I have 3 pieces of my own. Look, the band had others but they do not belong to me for that and the other children who left took them.
-One of your songs has a theme similar to that of "The Intruder" by LOVECRAFT. Do you read horror books?
Well, this particular song is the short story you said. I read. style of KING CLARK, maybe because I am lazy to read everything -
From where you are influenced in your songs?
I have several influences but my favorites are KREATOR, BATHORY, and CELTIC FROST, the good old ones FROSTIES. No, of course I also listen to HEAVY METAL, ROCK, but I prefer THRASH shapes -
About the THRASH-EPI controversy, what do you think?
You have, What is happening is nonsense. Now it's ridiculous things for me to curse and hit someone, just because he does not listen to the music I listen to. You can easily hit people who listen to other types of music style POP, RAP After all, the same music is also metal. What idiots are these, get serious.
You think that groups that have satanic lyrics should be rejected, I ask you this because it is very fashionable like that recent issues.
No, music counts. Besides, the groups I listen to have such lyrics. I do not think that the lyrics are a great reason for rejection. -You like noisy, babbling groups?
I do not like their music, but sometimes they have good political lyrics. -
Which Greek bands do you like?
DECEPTOR, ACETIC VOICE and MEDIEVAL DEATH I think stand out from the Greek scene. I like others, but I can not remember now. -Greek concerts, SKATA.
SHAME, -Yes, but there is no common ground. Of course, since everyone was looking to go to foreign groups and do not pay a penny for the Greek, what to say to those who moan that there is no scene. -There are suitable places for rehearsals, What spaces and molluscs. broken, the microphones are held with adhesive tapes. Villages that do not let you do your job, they are constantly pushed, they do not let you raise the volume and they take your nice money from above. -
Do you think that many groups that have become names, were made because of advertising and, they do not deserve it?
Advertising and promotion certainly count, but if you do not know how to play and write music, and they push you, you will do nothing. -You were interested in GREECE ATTACKS last year, It was the time when I joined the band, then we started to deal with our own songs and it did not suit us. -
Have you played in concerts?
Yes, on May 18 last year at "Dream" was our first appearance at the HEAVY METAL nights.
From DEMO what is happening?
We have not released any yet, but we have written our songs on a cassette that has been given to some radio stations, such as 106, but also to ZINES....

- yet another band that was interviewed and had plans to release a demo on the horizon (around February '91). Guillotine #2 'zine (1990) has an interview and their logo. This is translated from Greek to English:
[spoiler]Well, the band is me, Tassos-L.A.-Lavrentiadis on vocals ... -
L.A. what it means;
Nothing, my initials are and one stuck it to me and stayed. Also Tassos Gountios on guitar, Giannis Logothetis on guitar again, Kostas Domenikiotis on bass, Diamantis Karagiannakidis on synth, and Nikos Zaferiadis on drums. You could call the style of the group melodic HEAVY METAL with many technical points. -
maybe the music differences was one of the problems that arose and you left PRENATAL END?
Basically that was the reason why somewhere I wanted to play more passable music because my age is older than PRENATAL END who still have a long way to go, that is, they do not have very important aspirations, while I want to do it a bit more professionally, -
That is, to expect any DEMO soon?
The DEMO will be released around February.

- a note from the submitter claims that they played in the vein of Ludichrist and Scatterbrain, but has submitted a good number of non-metal bands, and the suspicious listed genre could use some more evidence that they belong on the site. The only thing that could be found through a few Google searches is that they played a gig with the bands Wesley Willis Fiasco, Full, and Orphan Punx at Bedrocks in Chicago, Illinois in 1995.

Yeah, I've got a copy. Had it down more as Hard Rock than Metal so didn't submit though, so just listed it as another of Battle Axe/Hellrazor's Atsuko 'Bee' Ose's bands: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... Ose/359827
Can send you a link if you want a listen though? Three song mini-CD.

That'd be great - thank you. The song on YouTube sounds metal enough to me. Depending on how the other 2 are, maybe they could get onto the site.

I looked again, and it turns out that the Washington State Paragon must be the one blacklisted (from 2019). The Minnesota band by this name was in the deleted bands section, so I assumed it had been for them. Looking closer, I see that was back in 2014. Will remove them from the list, and have specified which band the blacklist belongs to. Thanks.

Re:Thrill - According to the Corroseum pics, the recording was made at Tochigi Kaikan, a live venue in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture that closed in 2016: https://www.setlist.fm/venue/tochigi-ka ... 2d017.html

I suspect they're probably local bands - Night Sniper certainly is, they were still playing the city until at least 2016 and describe themselves as an 'Utsunomiya band' on their YouTube stuff. It's only about 60 miles from Tokyo, but its probably a bit out in the sticks for bands to travel there from the Capital.

Needs research. - Edge of Earth
- Don't have much to go on here, but the tape looks interesting and is in a group of rock/metal tapes for sale by mostly Illinois, US bands from the late '80s/early '90s. Seems to be a self-titled demo tape. Track listing: Fire Angel/ Secrets/ B.M.F./ The Driver. Hopes for it aren't high, but you never know.

Needs research. - Brain Damaged
Location: Greece
Listed genre: Heavy Metal/Hard Rock
Discography: "No Way" demo tape (year unknown; track listing, though order of songs uncertain: Blues of the Night/ Little Guys/ Saturday Nights/ No Way/ Tell Me)
Corroseum: https://thecorroseum.org/hellenicsteel/ ... %20Damaged
- review in "Folk Metal" #3 'zine (1991) - translated to English:
Spoiler: show
Pure, strong heavy that goes back to something very special thanks to the amazing Keyboards and the very good vocals. But all the instruments are tied and can be heard without any problem, a fact which is helped by the good production. Braindamaged have a musical style that wins over the listener with its very good compositions and performance of songs, "Blues Of The Night". "Little Guys". "Saturday Nights". "No way" and "Tell Me", the five pieces contained in the dermo All very well, but can definitely be improved. Slightly better connection of pure heavy music with the keyboards that choose to play classical Themes. Perhaps a wider use of the guitar since the Guitarists know well they do it and leave no doubt about it. Nevertheless, Braindarmaged was a surprise for me since I had never heard of this band playing such good heavy. The only unattractive element of this cassette is the cover Black and white photocopy, without lyrics. It would be nice if there was something more, but it does not matter. Good and quality music counts, regardless of the "wrapper". And Braindamaged definitely meets the conditions.
There is no address on the cassette to get in touch with the band. In our attempt to communicate with them we learned that unfortunately (and I emphasize this) Braindamaged is now a thing of the past.

Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Genre: Metal (?)
Discography: "Objection" demo (1992/'93)
- vague, nondescript review in Dreamland #1 'zine (1993), translated from Greek:
Spoiler: show
UTOPIA is a completely unknown group from Germany and specifically from the area around Frankfurt. The group consists of CHRISTIAN SCHUTZE (voice, guitar), ARNE HINRZ (bass, vocals), ANDRE
in March '92 at HEXENHAUS STUDIO. The ARTWORK is quite good, on hard paper with a colored cover but nowhere is the address of the group mentioned. The songs of DEMO are REMAINING DESERT, THE INVISIBLE ONES, TWO SOULS, WHY , IT'S NOT YOU and the cover of the classic MR. CABDRIVER in the first play and the DISCOVERIES, MEMORIES THE WICKED IN WHITE, BIZARRE and UTOPIA in the second. they are presented with the right technique and quite good inspirations in their songs. Beyond that, it is up to everyone how we will appreciate them and I do not think they will make a special impression on the METAL audience.

These 2 bands have articles in the 1990 'zine "Folk Metal" #2 in Greek language, and I'm unable to get a good translation from them using the image-to-text and translation tools that I usually use. The articles have keywords that sound promising, like 'thrash metal' and 'demo'. If anyone knows Greek, or someone that does who wouldn't mind translating, or has access to better translation tools than I'm using and is able to help out with the details, that would be awesome.
