Needs research. - Dark Symphony
Genre: Thrash/Death Metal
Location: Lambayeque, Peru

Alledgedly contain members of Violencia.
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Violencia/42612

Here's a bio in Spanish:
http://metalhousezine.blogspot.com/2009 ... phony.html
Contains the phrase
Quote:
Al poco tiempo de ensayar graban el demo–ensayo “Raktu” con dos temas: “Legados del sol” y “Ojos de la muerte”, este ensayo tuvo una difusión a nivel local y ahora en myspace.

Which says they made a 2-song demo named "Raktu" that was "broadcasted" locally and later on MySpace. Prolly a small run of CD-Rs?

They got Facebook, so a Spanish-speaker could contact them. The page was made fairly recently, too.
https://www.facebook.com/Dark-Symphony- ... 595466571/

The two songs of the demo were posted there, stating they are from an "unreleased?" production from the 2006/07 lineup.
Given the songs are on MySpace, the unreleased prolly refers to a different release these songs were meant to promote, I guess.
https://myspace.com/darklambayeque

The band's also briefly mentioned here:
https://issuu.com/apurlecproductions/do ... _c2_b0_206

Needs proof the demo was actually released in a proper way.

Added. - Perceptor
Spoiler: show
Genre: Melodic Death/Thrash Metal
Location: La Serena, Chile

https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ina/497321
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ceo/497320

They got a bio here:
https://www.blaster.cl/2015/03/perceptor/
Mentions the recording of a demo called "Nightmares & Daydreams"

Songs can be found here:
https://www.reverbnation.com/perceptor/songs

I also have the artwork for the demo stored on my harddrive.

They even have an official video for one of the songs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Daa2lTlasi4

Their MySpace is of course of no help:
https://myspace.com/perceptormetal

Needs proof the demo was actually released in a proper way.

It doesn't say they "recorded" the demo, but that they released it. You can also find it on blogspots ready to be downloaded with broken links.

Hrm...question is what "released" means here. Either just dumped onto ReverbNation and MySpace or something more substantial (or at least with a tracklist/order somewhere.
Also not sure where the artwork originates from. It was just attached to an old submission I found, not a public source or anything.

Needs research. - Necropsia
Genre: Death Metal
Location: Coyhaique, Chile

Members:

Apparently the first metal band from that city.

They recorded/released a demo in 1991 that can be found here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYX6DtgOpgI

There appears to be the cover art in the video, but I'd love some confirmation.
I also have varying info regarding the number of tracks on the demo, ranging from 2 to 5.

Here's another clip claiming it was from 1992?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2mft2EgDmU
Uploaded by the bands former drummer.

I wasn't saying don't question it just that the bio says they released the demo.

I found this where it was once available for download with artwork, for example:

Needs research. - Korpisoturi
Genre: Black Metal/Punk?
Location: Varsinais-Suomi, Finland (it's not the one already listed)

Members:

Their two releases:
https://www.discogs.com/artist/5585944-Korpisoturi

One is on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Tgky4hA8Dc

It's an awful mix of Black Metal, Thrash and Punk, rather borderline.
I'd love to hear the split and some more info on the validity of the releases themselves would be good.
Discogs says they are released by a label, but the youtube video doesn't have a label logo on it and we just have one ultra-crap pic of their demo and nothing for the split.
+ they are only owned by one person on discogs.

The other band on the split (Välikuolema) plays hardcore.

The 'Hakata Metal Army' Japanese V/A tape from 1986 is listed at The Corroseum here: https://thecorroseum.org/features/wayba ... etalct.htm

Got a photo from a friend of the back of the tape recently: https://imgur.com/gallery/3oi9T3o

This lists seven bands (I'd assume mostly from nearby Hakata City), two of which (Jerusalem and Imperial Guards) are already listed here. Basically looking for evidence of a release for the other five, probably demo tapes. I have a little more info on two of them, but just names for the other three at the moment.

Needs research. - Charlotte

Added. - Shock
Spoiler: show
Location: Hakata, Japan
Genre: Heavy Metal/Hard Rock
Found the vocalist's YouTube here, with live samples: https://www.youtube.com/user/theshock850/videos
Song from Compilation (Into the Fire) here (audio isn't great though): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFq5lH8-qA8
Note: This is not the Tokyo-based Hard Rock band 'Shock' that released the 'On the Rock' EP https://www.discogs.com/release/7558814 ... n-The-Rock though both were active in the same period.

Added. - Shotgun Married
Spoiler: show
Genre: Heavy Metal
https://www.discogs.com/artist/5269786-Shotgun-Married
They also made an appearance on another V/A compilation "徒楽夢 Rockin Live'85", audio here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O649vawIB4&t=2702s

Added. - Female Bellmer

Added. - Elizabeth

Spoiler: show
Location: France
Genre: Heavy Metal/Hard Rock
- this one arguably has enough information and samples to be submitted, but since it sat in 'waiting to be submitted' for several days, it's probably that people thought that more samples would be helpful - a good idea. Here's the information that we have:

Added. - Slaves of Freedom
Spoiler: show
Location: United States (Louisiana)
Genre: Sludge Metal

Discography:
Bringing Down the Sun (2000)
The Last Stages (2003)

Likely CD releases, but this band has been submitted by two different users at this point and there is nothing specific about distribution.

This release is cataloged on Discogs database, in which it is listed as a digital release:

There's also a review of the demo in Sputnikmusic:

I wasn't able to find anymore information about this band, but it seems like it isn't as unknown as it looks like. Maybe we could unearth something.

I actually remember seeing this on Bandcamp a couple of years ago. I don't suppose that helps?

Hello, do you remember if it was available for selling? Or how did the whole demo sounded like?
Metalcuresheadache has found this page, in which two of the three songs from the demo are available for streaming, but still, one of them is a cover. We need to find the third song and a proof of a valid release.
https://mp3-malina.me/tracks/Celtic%20Blood%20Pure

Thanks!

I actually found the entire demo on an old HDD. Wasn't sure why it was not on my main computer, then I listened to it and remembered. Apologies in advance, it's about as "pure" as a muddy glove. Regarding "proof"; I can find nothing except my old memory of it being on Bandcamp briefly, which is about as reliable as someone saying "trust me I know this guy" on a report.

Here's the demo. I would say "enjoy", but yeah...

Terrible sounding, for sure, but it would probably pass. But since you've found that demo in a HDD, it means that you've acquired it from somewhere, it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to believe that's a proof that the demo was released digitally, I'd say (correct me if my reasoning is wrong).

Thanks for sharing this.

Needs research - Backward Glance
Location: Pennsylvania, US
Genre: Heavy Metal/Hard Rock (?)
Band members: Ron Willochell and C. Masciantonio are the credited songwriters.
Discography: "You'll Be Sorry" / "Mind Over Matter" 7" (1984, City Records. Produced by Ron Willochell)
Corroseum review: "You'll Be Sorry" is a perfect example of female fronted riff-o-rama, almost up there with titans such as MALIBU BARBI. Unfortunately "Mind Over Matter" lacks both the energy and the power in order to make me declare this the best female fronted North American hard and heavy 7" of all time, but I definitely feel confident in stating that it's pretty darn good. At least half of it."

Already listed, as Shyver - though this demo hadn't yet been added to their discography. - Shiver
Spoiler: show
Location/band members: Unknown
Genre: Heavy/Power Metal
- someone sent a 4-song demo to me that just has the band name and song titles (track listing: Flying Dragon/ Twilight of the Gods/ Wall of Sound/ The Wolf) Runtime is 16:25. Vocals are in English, with an accent - possibly a Greek, Italian, or German band (?) Total heavy metal, but no further info found in a couple of Google searches. The sound is slightly wobbly and it's obvious that it's sourced from a cassette. Would guess that it was recorded around 1985-'87.

The songs in the mediafire download have meta data with their origin attached. The files originate from "wotanmituns.blogspot.com" which was a random download blog for NSBM that didn't specify its sources.
https://web.archive.org/web/20160129152 ... gspot.com/

Here's a trace of the page in question, no longer alive though: https://wotan33.rssing.com/chan-6152173 ... -live.html

In addition, if it was only up on Bandcamp briefly because it was quickly removed for violating their TOS, that's not a valid release by our standards.

I agree. Thanks for clarifying that, although I could have sworn I got it on Bandcamp. Must have been a Soulseek download. Ah well.

Music sounds good, but there's only two tracks available. Not sure if the release consists only of these two songs. It's also necessary to see if they have a valid release:

This release was available for purchasing at Bandcamp at some point. We just need to retrieve their music, somehow, if that's even possible:

Needs research. - Abstracto
Genre: Heavy/Thrash Metal
Location: Loja, Ecuador

Known members:

Possible members according to an old sub:

https://infernalyell.wixsite.com/infernalyell/biografia
In the bit about Darío, there's a little info about his (former?) band Abstracto:
Quote:

which says they released a 2-track demo and also recorded 9 more songs that were never released.

Here's a few samples:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ven-_MSUQhM

Here's their Facebook page, they seem to be still active.

Here's an expired webpage that listed "speed and power metal bands" (over 5,000, A-Z w/ discography and band members). They're probably mostly already on M.A., but in case anyone wants to have a look:
https://web.archive.org/web/20180823111 ... band/a.php
(noticed that there is also some standard rock on the list.)

Apparently this is a heavy metal/punk solo project by a guy who played in both G.I.S.M. and Ghoul. They only released one full-length in 1993 entitled "Go Go Brainshakes". I could only find one song from the album, but it sounded decently metal to me. I'll link it below along with the discogs page and the artist behind the project.

billm99uk was kind enough to let me hear this one and it sounds pretty firmly rooted in punk. That one song I originally found on Youtube was one of maybe two heavy ones. The rest of it isn't metal at all. I think it should be struck from the list now.
