Some names are written in Latin letters while in fact they should be in Cyrillic...
Mutnie Zavodi is Мутные Заводи and google only found the old download page.
http://xzona.su/metal/groove/14452-mutn ... -2010.html
The link is dead but here one could check the first two tracks. The other ones probably belong to another band.
https://z3.fm/artist/3066402
Guess there never was any physical release and just distribution via file-sharing hosts or through the Russian social network VK...

Knyaz is Князь from Petrozavodsk. Here is their VK page with samples: https://vk.com/diffraction_band
Their old webpage mentioning that in 2002 their debut album had a physical release (it also can be streamed through that VK page)
https://knjaz-band.narod.ru/group.html

Cult Nenavisti might be a confusion with the band Hard Life from Ukraine, who released an album with this title ("Культ Ненависти") in 2010.

They seem to have quite a lengthy discography:
https://mastersland.org/index.php?band=2512#gsc.tab=0
I guess at least some of those releases were spread on CD-Rs...

Samples from their VK page:
https://vk.com/wall-32796685_1

Graf Dmitrii Dracula or Граф Дмитрий Дракула seems to be predominately darkwave-project who has released a metal demo in 2006:
https://vk.com/club3937529

Gnilie Kaktusi is Гнилые Кактусы from Ukraine, Sumy. But I haven't found any other info.

Here is the band Inquisitor's demo. They appear to be pre-Werewolf Division. https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/We ... 3540272741
Looks like the band was actually called with Cyrillic as Инквизитор

https://metalarea.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=383144

Many Russian bands still were spreading their demos via dubbed tapes in 1992, so it possibly there wasn't a legitimate release meeting M-A rules

A few obscure bands, probably from around the Seattle, Washington area that were active in and around 1991 - thanked in the J-card for Psychosis "Dreams of Insanity" (contact for member Don: https://www.facebook.com/don.bossart.9 )as bands they'd played with so far, along with some that are already on the site:
Grunge. - Sleep Capsule
Spoiler: show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSDYbGu50C8
https://www.discogs.com/artist/1533803-Sleep-Capsule

Needs research. - Wormtongue
(2 members were Jim and Dillon)
Needs research. - Dad's a Junkie
(active until at least 1994, when they played a gig with Forced Entry and Zeke)
Needs research. - Naked Daisy
(pre-Mudd Bucket. The name changed when vocalist Doug joined. Currently not blindly believing the couple of short bios out there that the first demo was done as Mudd Bucket, since they also say that their first show was under that name (but Psychosis had played with them before the name change), and since it looks like Doug is the one behind most of their PR, his name and references to side projects turning up everywhere regarding this band, and it took a minute to find a single other member name. May have had a more metal sound earlier, despite the name.)
Verified members:
Jody Harstad (drums - also played in hard rock band Lethal Injection, not one on the site, and Gruntruck) - https://www.soultonecymbals.com/artist/jody-harstad , https://www.facebook.com/jody.harstad.3
Frankie Parker (guitars/backing vocals) - https://www.facebook.com/frankie.parker.5
Robert "Bobby" Kelley (bass)
Possible member:
Eric Star (guitars/backing vocals) (R.I.P.)
Needs research. - Black Room
Needs research. - Sutra
- seeking audio and release info for all.

Suspiria (Norway) can be removed from the list. They were recently added to the site, and just now noticed that they'd been added to the research list last month.

Additional info for Dreamer (US): A second cassette appeared on Discogs by them recently, and it's being sold in the US for $19.99.
https://www.discogs.com/release/2977406 ... er-Dreamer
Hopes for metalness aren't super high here in my opinion. The '87 release looked a bit more promising.

Князь and Hard Life seem to be legit to me. I believe both bands were spreading their music by selling/giving away CD-Rs during gigs.

Here is an old forum topic about Князь where a member confirms there was a physical release:

More info about Stone Image -
Location: Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
https://www.lehighvalleylive.com/music/ ... N4Y5CxJ09c
Member Dax Druckman (all instruments/vocals) "put(ting) out tapes in 1994, 1996 and 2008" (it doesn't explicitly say by Stone Image, but seems to be what they're referring to).
Bands he "performed in" prior to Stone Image solo project: Sickness, Infuriated, Brooder, Mudskipper, Mindnumb, Undefined (none are on the site, possibly worth asking Dax if any were metal and had releases).
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/daxd666 (message sent.)
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/3d_dax/
- just needs verification of release, since 3 albums on YouTube available for streaming in their entirety are metal.

Needs research. - Pitfall / Pit Fall
(J-card has Pitfall as one word, sticker on cassette shell reads 'Pit Fall')
Location: France (formerly Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges, the region is now referred to as Sèvremoine (Maine-et-Loire))
Listed genre: Rock (though seems likely to be metal. Discogs genres are far from reliable.)
Contact (possibly a member): Billaud Ph.
Discography: Self-titled cassette (year unknown, would guess '80s or '90s, 7 songs)
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/release/1768503 ... ll-Pitfall
- Seeking audio.

(yes, McKitty sounds like quality stuff, but not riff heavy. Good find.)

Needs research. - Dark Ritual
Location: Michigan (or Ohio), US (not the band on the site that formed in 2015 that is also from Michigan)
Genre: Doom/Groove Metal
- their song "I Lost My Faith" is on a 1999 compilation CD, "No Fills Comp Vol. 8" (Epitaph Records) - begins at 5:18 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=Bx8g2-0vhGo
Most of the bands on this compilation series had at least one release. The CDs came with Epitaph 'zine, so there should be an article about this band in issue #37.
- seeking release info.

Needs research. - Overthrow
Location: Michigan (or Ohio), US
Genre: Groove Metal with Thrash Metal and Industrial elements - kind of like early-to-mid '90s White Zombie
- their song "Space Wars" is on the same compilation mentioned above. Begins at 40:40 in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=Bx8g2-0vhGo
The image says "debut CD "Suburban Warfare" available soon" (this would have been in 1999).
Wayback Machine for their old website didn't work.
- seeking release info, possibly more audio.

Mikaya: Not sure if this is worth keeping with the sample provided. Sounds like core heavy metalcore.

Mona: Not sure what needs research. They did one metal track for a comp but seems to mostly play rock.

Mater Tenebrarum: Spoke with the bandmember and received info that was a tad bit contradictory: "Hello. It's very old stuff I record lot years ago. This record hasn't any official release no. At the Time I burned cd on demand." "If someone sell this record it IS not very honest because it's not a pressed release." He then sent photos of a burn copy. Not sure what MA's policy on 'on-demand' burns are, but looks to me to be no VR.

Mantura: Spoke with band. Nothing downloadable yet, but their next release will be.

Neuroid: Remaster of the 1992 demo on youtube with a link to download. Channel claims it's official and that they are in contact with the band. Might be enough to submit.

Some search engines just don't show certain sites. When I'm researching bands I use at least two different search engines because google is goofy sometimes with what it does and doesn't show.

What's another good one that you use, if you don't mind divulging? Might give a recommended alternative a try sometimes.

Yandex has been pretty good to me. Good for finding VK and obscure sites. A (possibly) interesting feature is that it appears to include dead links (facebook, apple music, etc). it can be frustrating but also promising if proper archiving has been done for those sites.

Also on Mooncreature, I was about to submit but listened more to the music. Is this even metal? Not hearing a lot of riffs. I assumed it was screened before being added since samples is marked as yes but I could be wrong. Same happened with Diqqat. The full album was listenable and yet it was rejected based on a lack of metalness.

Thanks! I'll add that to one of the research tips posts (which might be able to be condensed down into a single link, if anyone ever becomes bored enough to do that.)

Maelstorm: Spoke to the person who submitted the promo to see if they know anything about the youtube vid with more songs. Said he didn't believe so. Think this listing might be enough to submit.

More info about Spanish Fly (Italy) - city location is Bologna, and a 1989 demo exists according to this (reliable) source:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWg8jJRU2Gk
It's the same song that's on the compilation mentioned in the original post. Haven't checked if it is the same version of the track. A little bit more info about the release and more samples would be helpful. Have the feeling it might turn up on the Heavy Metal Rarities site soon.

Needs research. - Shatterbone
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, US (not the Iowa band on the site)
Listed genre: Hard Rock/Heavy Metal
Members: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... cki/852050 (drums), Rod Arnett (bass), Dan Ryan (guitars), George Bariames (guitars), Tim Brendel (vocals)
eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/176239644903?i ... R9TtxL61Yw
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/release/1604070 ... hatterbone
- members Dan, Rod, and Frank went on to form the band 'I Am' a short time after that demo, releasing an album called "There's a Home" in 1995. The album is more rock than metal.
