As you can probably guess from the Discogs price, that's one of those rarez most of the serious collectors of Japameta from that period I know seem to be looking for. You'll be lucky to find samples or a copy at a reasonable price.

FWIW, the one guy I do know has a copy (see https://www.instagram.com/p/B-BE7CVDXj2/) has said (quote) "Prisoner reminds me of very early X sound."

(Thanks, guys, for the above comments)

Needs research. - Atom West
Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
Genre: Thrash Metal/Crossover (?)
Band members: John Lamana (guitars), Norm Nowak (guitars), Bob Hafer (bass), Tony Dalmas (drums), Jody Hawk (vocals). A couple of them had previously played in Vicious Barreka (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Vi ... iscography)
Discography: "One Day's Worth" demo cassette - year not listed, late '80s/early '90s
Discogs link: https://www.discogs.com/Atom-West-One-D ... se/5328157
- they also have a compilation track that shows potential but isn't enough to accept them on in my opinion, as it borders on crossover quite a bit. Would be great to find audio samples of the other songs.

Needs research. - Redrum
Location: Los Angeles, California, USA (not to be confused with the more known thrash band from Sacramento, California)
Genre: Thrash Metal (?)
Band members: Karlos Medina (bass -https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Karlos_Medina/15937, have already tried messaging on Facebook a couple days ago), Joey Pacheco (drums - https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... eco/246233), George Silva (guitars - https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... lva/264730), Steve Olah (vocals, R.I.P.), Alfonso "Al" Martinez (guitars, R.I.P.). Considering the bands that the 3 members linked here played in around the same time, very promising that this will be good metal
Discography: Demo 1986 (4 songs) - unknown titles, needs proof of release
- This came in as a submission from user Sodomatic_slaughter 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the Facebook links that were provided, supposedly containing proof of the release were inactive. Had suggested resubmitting with a screenshot of these images, which didn't happen so far. It would be great to find out about this band, though, if further proof can be found. There is a logo and photo of them that are saved at the moment for if they get resubmitted.

(Witcher): Regarding Ruwatch (US), the tape is on eBay currently. The seller describes their sound a little bit in the auction listing (not that it's necessarily a dependable source of information):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ruwach-Demo-Ta ... SwNQRgb2Q8
"The music makes me think they were a thrash band that went more hard rock/metal – like many thrash bands did in the early/mid 90s. They still have that thrash sensibility in the guitars and song structures, but they are singing and playing more commercial overall. To me they sit somewhere between Precious Death and Godfear." Starting bid is 24.95 USD if anyone's interested enough, though says they only ship to the US.

Needs research. - Speed Metal Mania
Location: Tennessee, USA
Genre: Thrash/Heavy Metal
Band members: Unknown
Discography: Demo 1989 (?) (track listing: Trench Warfare/ Dream Reality/ Final Solution/ Reality Awaken)
- Pretty good digitally downloaded demo that has floated around on a few mp3 trading sites with artwork that looks like it's the front of a record (and could very likely just have been a random image used to go with the download). Nothing is known about them other than the song titles and that they are supposedly from Tennessee. The music is for sure metal, though.

Needs research. - Ass Protector
Genre: Grindcore/Goregrind/Pornogrind
Location: Belarus

This band seems to be a predecessor of Katatonic Despair and released the demo "Symptoms of Forthcoming End..." at... some point (most likely 2002).
It was reissued as a split with Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium in 2003 and later re-used on the first Katatonic Despair release (..that is listed with unknown format)

https://depressiveillusions.com/items/t ... coming-end
https://www.discogs.com/Necrocannibalis ... se/6481497

I will neither pay 14€ shipping for that split tape nor order at DIR (out of principle), so if there's a download somewhere, I'll take it.

(BuriedUnborn): Regarding Almatica (Argentina): There's enough information there that the band could be added. There is proof of a release in the written article, and the YouTube samples show that they play metal. Even if you don't have the track listing, you can include what information is known in additional notes for the time being. A.L.M.A.S. is on the site, which helps support it a little more as well. Go ahead and add them if you'd like to.

Needs research. - Edge Of Mortality
Genre: Death/Doom Metal
Location: Messina, Sicily, Italy
I remember clearly that the band during 90s released a demo tape but i need some proof because i don't own a copy of it.
In this italian review https://metalitalia.com/album/thyedge-promo-y2k/ you can read the name of the band and the reviewer said that the band was included on the compilation "Dawn of Gods III" (look at additional notes here https://www.metal-archives.com/labels/M ... tions/5674 ).

Needs research. - ThyEdge
Genre: Cyber Extreme Metal/Industrial Metal
Location: Messina, Sicily, Italy
Lineup: AsTh and DarkM
This is an evolution of the band Edge Of Mortality.
As you can read here https://metalitalia.com/album/thyedge-promo-y2k/ a demo was released but i need some sample to listen effectively if is it metal or not.

Needs research. - Malicious Intent (California? Kansas?)
I have a digital 5-song 1989 demo (no song titles) that was given to me as being from California (city not listed). It's not from an official download, so proof of release is needed still. The vocals are a little higher on it than the 1985 footage linked above, but they could have changed vocal style or vocalists. They play a good Power/Thrash Metal. One person said that they thought it might be by the Kansas band listed on the site as having a demo from 1989, and I guess it could also possibly be a release by the Pennsylvania band on the site, as they have at least 2 demo releases from around this time period not listed on the site. There's a download of it available on the Heavy Metal Rarities forum. Any help identifying which of the many bands by this name it is, and whether or not they are listed on the site yet would be great.
