Needs research.
Anybody have any info of the demo released by Sathanas Necrocunt in 2007?

It was released as a CDR, surely in limited copies, 7 tracks or 1 track. I need a photo of the CD.

Some links:

Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sMtxh37J_I
Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/es/Sathanas-Nec ... se/9043358

https://sonichits.com/artist/Sathanas_Necrocunt

http://www.last.fm/music/Sathanas+Necrocunt/

http://cosmichearse.blogspot.com.ar/201 ... ocunt.html

It's impossible to contact the creator of the project (Paul Von Aphid) because he is dead.

Also, anybody know of his other project called Zaaku?

Needs research. - Cabal (Canada, black metal)
- Rape Those Who Rape Our Lands... (1994, demo-tape)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYkCg3h ... e=youtu.be

Might be fake, further evidence for actual tape existence/distribution needed.

Since my new job has upped my disposable income, I'm going to attempt to work my way through the Nesblod list from the front page. There are 13 tapes on that list that have a fixed price, so I plan to work on those first, with the hope that repeated purchases on the cheap shit will give me a bit more grace on all his offer-only tapes (Sewer Disgust is squarely on the radar). I plan on ordering after next pay day, and hope to have Wynter, Arktogaa and Psalm=1 sent my way. Here's hoping I don't get reamed a new one by shipping costs.

Not so much an obscure band, but samples are hard to come by. I submitted them with their first tape, Cavern of Mantras (http://blackheathcoven.bandcamp.com/), but it didn't make the cut for metalness. They released a second tape, Erratic Glacial Haze, but aside from a 62 second clip at http://beartownrecords.com/catalogue.html, I can find no samples. If anyone wants to gamble £4 on a purchase, or see if they can get files from the band on Facebook, they may make the cut with the second demo tape.

Bought a tape, will report back.

Funny, I should have checked the exchange rate. I thought this stuff was incredibly expensive. But 89 NOK is only $11. I probably would have bought these long ago if I had bothered checking.

I actually went and put the order in for 5 tapes; those three from the post, plus Excubitor and Stanka. All total about $50ish for 5 tapes, which isn't horrible. I'm still waiting for a response to see what it'll cost for shipping, and they ask for a 5% charge to cover fees on PayPal, which I prefer over a bank transfer to a foreign country.

I have a GoogleSheet with the exchange rates, should you like to browse them: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

I also would rather do the 5% for paypal. Bank transfers to me sound like the e-mail from the Norwegian prince where suckers donate their life savings to some scam....

Let me know what he says for shipping. If the shipping cost is cheaper as you add tapes to the order, maybe we can work something out where I add a few tapes to the order and share the shipping cost - then you just have to ship them to me when you get them. Feel free to PM me at any point if it's something like that and it makes sense in the end.

It's all... eh. Minimalist and repetitive drone/doom/ambient. Seems more on the non-metal side.

Hi all,

yesterday night I've register myself here in order to add my new band. The name of this one-mans band is Herc but I've got my submission rejected. That was my mistake. I didn't read the rules before posting anything so here some additional information, regarding my submission:

The band is a sort of "sequel" project from the Greek powermetalers "Arkenstone", a band you already have in your website. I am actually the guitarist of this band. Although I don't have a contract with a label. What I do is to compose albums and upload them to my website, having them there for free download. This is my hobby, something to share with the fans of metal music. The following links are proving my existence as an Artist:

My official website:
www.hercband.gr

Facebook
https://www.facebook.com/hercband/

Soundcloud
https://soundcloud.com/herc-perilous

Reverbnation
https://www.reverbnation.com/hercband

Lyrical video from my latest album:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awh2T4IG3l8

Throughout my website, can anyone download both of my albums, in mp3 format (including artworks with lyrics) for free!

The band's musical style in the first album is acoustic (like empyrium, ulver, blind guardian) but my new album is metal. I've only included the different styles of metal in the additional section when I've submitted because I though is was not necessary to mention that I'm a metal band, since I'm submitting in a metal community!

Anyway, I hope that I will get rid of this rejection and will see my band listed in your website.

Please contact me if you need any additional information.

Kind regards
Herc

This one is really intriguing. Some sites out there have the full length up and they all say this is hard rock and there's an interview with the singer that doesn't make this sound metal but then there's this, which could pass for metal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXk-CsU3ZPc

I've finally found an affordable version of this and bought it - when I get it, I'll check back in.

This one sounds like quite the rarity, just a mention in Slayer Fanzine #5 from 1987. It seems unclear whether that demo was actually ever released or not.

Well, we're going on four weeks and Neseblod Records still has not responded to my order request, so it looks like we may not be chipping away on that list any time soon.

Needs research. - Blast Furnace
In other news, I've been combing over some old zines, and found a lead.

Image

This flattering review, from Disposable Underground 'zine #6, is for Blast Furnace's Phallus Does Dallas. Google turns up zilch, naturally. The Archive currently has Blast Furnace from Middletown, New York, but they play death metal and formed in 2014. There's also a Blast Furnace that released 2 thrash demos in the 80's, but they're from Turin, Italy, so I'm doubtful they're the same band. There's no date on the issue, but the reviews and ads for major label releases seem to place it somewhere in the Fall 1992-January 1993 range. There's not a lot to go on in the review, and while it seems to indicate at least some metalness to it, "pseudo-thrash" and "pre-pubescent Pantera" aren't very scientific definitions. And while it seems to indicate that you can obtain the release via the address, there's no info on quantity or format, so I'm not sure it's enough to submit on its own.

Update:
Image

Looks like these guys had a follow-up. This review is in Disposable Underground 'zine #7, from sometime around Summer 1993. Still pretty ambiguous in the genre descriptions though.

Another 'zine find: Hand Over Fist's 4 song demo tape

"Boring power metal with bad emocore parts" is another unpromising genre description, but it's a start. This comes from Disposable Underground 'zine #7, released around Summer 1993.

Does anyone have extra information of the Texas Death Metal band Acalvaria? They were formed in 2007 but have already been split up for some years. They have 3 studio recordings available on their myspace page (https://myspace.com/acalvaria). They also have a few live videos posted on youtube and vimeo. One of the members told me of a full album that is no where to be found anymore except if someone has kept a physical copy.

Added. - 毁灭救赎/Destruction of Redemption/Destroy the Redemption
Spoiler: show
Hey, here's a project(?) I've been wondering about:

Destruction of Redemption

I recently saw that Chinese label Pest Productions was releasing an album by a new project called "Demogorgon" (which was denied into the archives because the album was 1 track metal and 1 track ambient). The trailer claimed that this project was the combined efforts of members of Zuriaake, Holyarrow, Demogorgon (who is apparently the alias of a person who used to edit a Chinese 'zine in the 90's), and Destruction of Redemption. However, I can't find any info on the last band on the label's website or just by searching the Internet.

I only know two things about the band:
1. The genre ("primitive black metal", meaning it might have one of those underground demo tapes instead of a full album, or it could have played a few gigs and broken up after a couple of years)
2. The logo http://website.pest666.com/store/p187/D ... now._.html (click on the second picture, the one with the description and images of the booklet. At the top you can three logos under "dilemma. revenge. snow." The left one is Destruction of Redemption's.

The only other supposedly helpful link I have is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78K74e2nDQ0. It's a preview of Demogorgon's album that talks about the three bands and the project in general in the description.

To help lessen the research for Destruction of Redemption, the ugy behind HolyArrow posted this on the band facebook page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EDT2kHKT1Q&t=0s which is apparently a new song from the band. I haven't done this, but it would be best to try to contact the HolyArrow band page about the band for more info.

There are at least three UK bands with this name, all roughly falling within the NWOBHM scene. This is neither the one listed on MA nor the one from Denton (hard rock, apparently). This one was based in Basildon.

Az, there may be useful info about them here.

(I'll try to contact one of the authors of these two reviews in RateYourMusic.com for samples.)

Yes, I know that group (posted about them in this thread already). A user affiliated with them tried to add the band to MA, but no samples from the valid release are to be found and knowing the usage of "NWOBHM" it could be anything from blues rock to Iron Maiden.

(KingSpooky): Regarding Prowler (Essex, United Kingdom): They are active again, have a Facebook page and a 2-song digital release of old songs, and will apparently be putting out an album in 2021.

This one was based in Basildon.

Hey, here's a project(?) I've been wondering about:
Destruction of Redemption

I just contacted the member of HolyArrow, and he told me that band's mastermind Thorns is his friend. And the band will contribute this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EDT2kHKT1Q to a V/A compilation, which will be released in 2017.

Regarding Destruction of Redemption:

Their guitarist asked me to convey the following message:

Or we can be reached by phone on +86 15062226505 "

Some more news in the Saga of Neseblod. I've managed to get a dialogue going with him on Facebook messenger. He claims he's looking through boxes and crates to see if he can locate the tapes I've requested, but he did not know if he would clear the last two boxes before the New Year.

Even if he does come through and find these, I really don't see myself jumping at the chance to order again. I've been ripped off by Southeast Asian bootleg labels with more customer service and communication skills than this guy.
