EDIT 16/1/2020: Found out about one of the band's former members; Shamus Sandford. I've contacted him and I'm waiting for a response.

The YouTube page of the band has some old videos, I'll see if I can dig up anything from there. I'll also check their MySpace.

EDIT 2: He answered almost immediately and clarified some stuff. He didn't record the demo, and he believes it wasn't distributed at all, and he also doesn't have it, but he also told me he doesn't remember much of his time with the band. I've asked him if he can get me any more info, and now I'm waiting to hear any response from him, although I'm pretty sure he won't answer back.

EDIT 3: I was proven wrong instantly. He told me a little bit more about the lineup of the band and about the demo and the recording process.

EDIT 4: I'm done talking with Shamus, now I'll try ask Korno about the demo. If I'm lucky he has it and can give me some pics and even some samples hopefully.

EDIT 5 (11/02/2020): Neither Shamus or Korno had the demo. I've tried to directly contact Tom Santamaria but he didn't answer. I couldn't find Travis Schwartz, and since I don't know Jake's, Rhayne's or Zak's surnames, there's no way to contact them. The situation is looking bleak.

EDIT 6: I just found Jake's contact through some smart research (hehe). I've contacted him and I'm waiting for an answer. I got in contact with Shamus again, and he has told me he couldn't find any copy of the demo.

EDIT 7: I might have just found the contact of Rhayne and Zak by more... smart research... Waiting for replies to confirm their identities.

EDIT 8 (19/03/2020): I might have exhausted all of my options at this point; Shamus, Korno, Tom, and Rhayne don't have the demo. Zak and Jake never answered, and I couldn't get in contact with Travis. I can assure you that if there are any copies left of that demo, they must be in some dusty box of some fat, 40-year old Australian metal collector from Barossa Valley, never to be seen or heard of again. Fuck.

Added. - Lost Hope:
Spoiler: show
Australia, (Hobart, Tasmania) death metal band that existed during the late 2000s/early 2010s, status unknown.

Released "Forgotten Realms" (CD, Demo, 3 tracks, most probably 2010), it was given for free at their gigs. The band included Rowan McIntosh and Rohan Tompson (Born Headless), Rod McAllister (ex-Gape), Matthew Gillam (Baalphegor), Simon Chamberlain and formerly Brett Collidge (Tyrant).

MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/losthopeaustralia
ReverbNation: https://www.reverbnation.com/losthopeaustralia
YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/losthopeaustralia

EDIT: The band most definitely broke up. I've contacted an ex-member who told me to talk with someone else, but I got no response so I've reached a dead end.

EDIT 2 (11/02/20): I've just messaged Rod McAllister. I've also learned from Gape members that Rod has left that band. Right now I'm waiting for a reply from Rod. Matt Gillam never replied back after I contacted him again, so I'm guessing I creeped him out. Feel free to contact him yourself if you can.

Dizzy (Sweden, Melodic Heavy Metal)
- Demo (?, demo-tape?)

http://heavymetalrarities.com/forum/vie ... 34&t=27212

The guy behind HMR posted the entire demo on YT (the artwork isn't from the release). Apparently he owns the tape?

EDIT: oh right, previously posted. I think a bit more information about the demo release is needed.

Not metal. - Burnt at the Stake,
Spoiler: show
Kind of Technical/Progressive Deathcore from Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2008, last known activity in 2010.

Illustrations of an Imposter (EP, April 2010, unknown format but it's probably CD)
1. Illustrations of an Imposter (4:06)
2. Disintegrate (4:22)
3. And They All Should "Currahee" (4:08)
4. Forgiveness Shall Defy (4:39)

There's possibly an alternative tracklist:
1. Regicide (3:08)*
2. Disintegrate (4:22)
3. Illustrations of an Imposter (4:06)
4. Undefined Infinity (4:43)*
5. Refraction (3:32)

* = These two songs are marked as "Demo 2010" in their MySpace, the others are not marked under any album, so those are probably raw recordings or from a demo, not from the EP.

Also Franc confirmed that the songs were released on cassette back in the day, but didn't give me a tracklist or anything, I think he doesn't have it anymore.
He also sent me all demo songs they ever recorded, the 4 listed on HMR and 7 others, I uploaded all of them to my dropbox

Important - Thread update:

So...I went through this pile of posts and made a few changes.

1. Updated the OP.
1.1 The links in the band list used to be sorted by date of the post and often had multiple bands combined in one link (if they originated from the same post)
-> Split up the links and sorted the list alphabetically. In order to make it easier to update the list now, I included a little reminder with the latest additions.
1.2 The Neseblod list wasn't sorted at all and had no links within.
-> Sorted alphabetically and added links to the bands that were mentioned in a separate post within the thread (similar to the other list)

2. Updated the posts within the thread itself
2.1 There often was no indication whether or not a band was taken care of.
-> I added a fairly simple system: All bands that were for discussion here should now be marked with Added. - Needs research. - Unacceptable.. The red one is usually refering to why it wasn't acceptable (no release, not metal,...)
2.2 In order to keep all the info on one band in one post, I added spoilers that quote comments related to the band's research. I only did that to bands that are still under investigation and to every band that was brought up since Jan 1st, 2017. I don't think we need that for the really old stuff...I don't know.
2.3 I added spoilers to bands that were already dealt with to hide the info + comments in order to make the thread look a bit more compact. (saves a bit of scrolling and is nicer to look at)

Examples:
- New OP
- Colours and spoilers (only band info)
- Colours and spoilers (info + comments)
- Colours and comments

I didn't throw in a signature under every post I edited (for obvious reasons) unless I did some major changes to the post.

I hope this makes the thread easier to navigate and helps with dealing with this obscure stuff. If you find mistakes I made, feel free to contact me.

Good to know. Was able to scratch a few off the list earlier. Changed ;)

PM is prefered though, no need to bury the bands under my mistakes any further, haha.

DeathFog got back to me about Audronaša:
Quote:
Some info I found : Audronaša band was established in 1978. In the beginning, they were performing covers, later they began to write their own songs, lyrics of which were taken from the poetry of famous Lithuanian poet Sigitas Geda.
Nameless album is the sole recording of Audronaša.
Interesting fact: ex-drummer Vladas Kovaliovas later became a lead singer of hard rock band Volis. Now he is a popular singer in various pop rock projects.
The album was recorded in 1979 and has never been released on vinyl or mc.
This is the info I got from Lithuania.

No releases, it would seem. Shame. :(

Thanks a lot , Paganiusi, for re-organizing the threadd. It bears the first fruits:
Regarding Alliance (USA), here is the B-side of their single "Born Again": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sy21svNvyaU
Alliance discography at Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/Alliance-Water- ... se/6268835

Edit: regarding Cappa/Seifert, the entire song "Steel City Metal " is available on a digital compilation of rareheavy metal and hard rock singles at the HMR forum. I am not a member there, but I know, that some mods are, for example Azmodes: http://heavymetalrarities.com/forum/vie ... php?t=3185

The single was sold at Popsike in 2015 - proof of physical release: https://www.popsike.com/DON-CAPPA-C-SEI ... 36771.html
I tink, that the info is therefore pretty much complete and now it is up to the mods to judge the metalness of the release.

Regarding Northrose: https://northrose.bandcamp.com/album/ti ... extinction
https://www.youtube.com/user/Northrosemusic

Regarding Euthanized: this is the same black metal band from Canada, which is already listed in the Archives. The Demo MMX9IV was a digital only Soundcloud release, whci predates the 2016 demo. Two songs appear also on the 2016 demo, but in different versions. I thus propose, that the band should be taken off the list of bands needing info and research. Regarding Cybernetic Erosion, I can confirm, that it is the same band, which iis listed on Discogs.com. Their style is certainly not metal, but EBM/industrial/darkwave. I do nnot have the samples from the album mentioned in the original post, but here is anotherfull album of theirs, which is certainly not metal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjGOoJsRhr0
Also importantly, there are some songs from the album mentioned in the original post here on the Cybernetic Erosion Soundclick page: https://www.soundclick.com/bands3/defau ... did=264660

Regarding Illuminati (Macedonia) : According to the bio below, the four track rehearsal demo from 2005 was entirely instrumental and the band apparently does not count it as an official rlease, their consider their official release to be the first demo released under the name "Storm" in 2006, so there are serious doubts, if the demo was even publicly released. Please, see here: http://hell-we-are-in.blogspot.com/2008 ... -hope.html

Not metal. - The Motowns (Switzerland)
Spoiler: show
Genre : Heavy Metal?
Released the CD "Immortal" in 1990. Samples from the whole relase are needed to determine, if it is really consequently metal and also some more info about the release, including photos, possible entries in CD collections, internet auctions etc.

This is a dumb hint but seems like the guy running that YouTube channel owns the CD, as all the other songs uploaded to the channel have a photo like that over the same surface. I'm trying to contact the guy, but YouTube doesn't make it easy and the only option I've got is Google Hangouts (like if someone used it anyways).

The CD Was released via a label called Recycling Records. it's most probably NOT this one as it was founded in 2006 and doesn't release heavy metal records, so it's most probably an already defunct label from Switzerland, as I can't find any info about it in the web.

That channel has some other interesting bands that could probably be added to the archives but they seem to share the same problem as this one though.

EDIT: Same band as this one; same logo, from Switzerland, active in the same time period. That release is marked as Post-Punk but maybe it's wrongly labeled or the band changed genres with the 1990 CD.

EDIT 2: Recycling Records at Discogs, the label release another album by a post-punk band from Switzerland, so it's gotta be the same.

Regarding Eternity's Voice: They are now listed on Discogs.com with detailed information about their two demos. Both demos are listed under the "heavy Metal" tag there. See: https://www.discogs.com/artist/6553607-Eternitys-Voice

Regarding Altarium: TTTheir 2013 album "Demo Cuts" is available on Bandcamp, it must be the band mentioned in Brandon's list, since I could not find another Altarium related to the metal scene: https://southernblasphemyrecords.bandca ... -demo-cuts

Regarding Xanctux: I was able to find one long song from the split and it is certainly not metal, but pure dark ambient/neo-folk with whispered vocals and without any distorted guitars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7BGshsSD0M
https://www.discogs.com/Xanctux-Serve-D ... se/2482343
Full Xanctux album:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUYdopHk0Kc
Official Xanctux Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/sanctusdiavolos
Regarding Lacerated: The band lacerated from Brandon's list is almost certainly this international brutal death metal project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRxpxvFB2Ag
https://www.youtube.com/user/SmooneGrri

Regarding Drosera: I was able to locate their album"Cassiar" on CD Baby and it certainly is not metal at all, they ccompare it to Clan of Xymox or The Cure. There are preview songs for the whole album there: https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/drosera
There are no other albums of theirs for sale on CD Baby, just the promotional text from their lablel, which mention "doom-ladden" rituals again. I would be very cautious with such an description, since the label describes Drosera as a dark ambient band first and foremost. "Doom-ladden" could mean a lot of things and I have also seen dark ambient albums, which were ssomehow slow and sorrowful in delivery being described as doom-inspired by the promo advertising by their labels before.

About Cappa/Seifert, the track in that HMR compilation isn't the full thing. It's the 1:30 sample that was already provided in the submission.

RegardingScurvs: Translation of the Czech review by a native speaker (me):
The cover for the cassette, simply called "Demo 1/2000", by the Swedish "honing machine" Scurvs seems at first glance to be a superficially compilled mess ofdifferent stubs. But at a second glance you wll find out, that ithas some order and that it certainly does not look so bad. The cover even contains some internet address, which was not a common thing at all at that time, especially not for a demo band. To it comes, that the brutal death metal of this band was and is an ear candy. A great ride supported by a quality sound. No wonder, that this material was re-issued onvinyl.

So theconclusion: The band is Swedish, plays brutal death metal. The have released a demo cassette in 2000, which was later re-issued on vinyl. They had also an internet page/contact Adress in 2000.
Regarding Force (Swe): Not only was their live material released only as a bottleg, but it is also a pre-Europe band and the majority of their material was later re-recorded for the Europe self-titled debut album. The Europe versions are very similar to the Force material and to call the Force originals to be "certainly metal" is a bit of a stretch. You can also see, that he Force live and studio material is labelled as "hard rock" on Discogs.com, as is the early Europe material. I also know from a discussion from 2007, that the site owners sconsider the first EEurope album to be still more hard rock than metal, so the origianl poster would have to convince them first, anyway. https://www.discogs.com/Europe-The-Forc ... se/6171936

Yeah, I'm aware. They were added by the same guy who created the m-s.de entries. He said he was going to try and rip his tapes for me, but that was back in August. I'll check again soon, I guess.

I was able to add Mandamus, Crystal Breaker, D.O.S.E. and Judias Strike after receiving samples and information about the releases. woohoo

Regarding Jade (Switzerland(. I found one song on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIk0o9D03SM
Three former members of Sacrifice were also members of Jade. The band's style is described as hard rock on most pages. For details, see my "anonymous" report on them:
https://www.metal-archives.com/report/view/id/627557
eDIT: I have found a second Jade song from the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xM0bWkkk28
Now that we have two Jade songs from Jade together, what do the mods think about their style?

Edit 2: It was not easy, but I found some info about Mung. The band is from Canada and their album is listed under the "rock" tag on Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/Mung-We-Who-Sle ... se/3090413
Here are the samples on Youtube and their official channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2kxhuFQojE

Regarding Scurvs: I am almost certain, that I have solved the mystery about the band. The name Scurvs is Just a misspelling of the name Scurvy and Scurvy is a Swedish brutal death metal/grindcore band, which has rleased a limited demo tape called Demo I/Demo 2000. The description in the review fits almost perfectly. Brutal edeath metal with a good production: https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/S ... 2000/23349
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw5eyWXLYzc
Similarly, thelmno is just another spelling of Chelmno and we have an Italian black metal band called Chelmno with a limited demotape in the Archives:
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/C ... lmno/54147

Regarding Lords Of The Grief: This could be (and probably is) the Swedish band Lords Of The Grief, which has rleased one very rare demo: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Lo ... 3540322912
Regarding Avadon and Akeron: It could just be mispellings of Abadon and Acheron. Unfortunatly I could not find the exact demo titles in this version of the Neseblod list: http://www.neseblodrecords.com/news.php ... om=&ucat=&
Regarding Tstragramaton: It is most probably just a misspelling of the Brazilian black metal band Tetragrammaton, as was already pointed out by Halloween: https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/T ... rify/50459

Regarding USSr: According to Discogs, they have no releases of their own and have only released the song "John Lennon Is Dead" on various V/A compilations. The song John Lennon Is Dead itself sounds like pure punk rock to me: https://www.discogs.com/artist/720393-USSR

https://nosoulsinmanchester.bandcamp.com/releases
https://www.reverbnation.com/nosoulsinmanchester

Imo it sounds like a mixture of nu-metal and modern goth rock, like a nu-metal version of HIM.

Needs research. - Maria' Solfege
Country: Japan
Genre: Symphonic Black/Gothic metal

The band has released one song on the Punishment Party Vol. 5 compilation, which was released on Cd in 2002.
Since most of the bands on this compilation have released at least some physical demos or singles, an info on whether Maria solfege has also some physical rleases outside of that compilation, iinfo about such releases, if they exist, their exact tracklisting and also song samples would be greatly appreciated.

All right, this is my area of expertise.
According to this https://www22.big.or.jp/~yunisan/vi/mariasolfege.html site which usually is fairly useful, Maria' Solfege released one live-distributed video tape in 30 copies. That is obscure enough for there to not exist any references online, and so that piece of information is nearly useless.

It is plausible that the band released a demo tape, as many bands did at the time, especially in order to land deals for compilations and stuff; I would even go so far to say that it is implausible that they didn't. The problem is that I still can't find a good reference to any.

If further samples are required to add this band, I think that adding this band would be impossible for now.

Needs research. - SDT (Sistema de Tortura, S.D.T.) (Thrash/Death Metal)
Location: Concordia, Entre Ríos, Argentina.
Years active: Between the 90s and 2001 (they disbanded before Latifundio was formed I think.)

Members:
- Luchi Rios (Bass, Vocals)
- Pablo Ferrnado (Drums) [Also in Latifundio and Fanen]
- Diego Moix (Guitars)
- "Chino" Crossa (Lead vocals)
- Andrés Besel (Guitars) (Relative of Travis Besel and Zeqqi Besel)

All members have Facebook accounts except for "El Chino", so it's possible to contact them. I know Pablo Ferrando in person but we never actually talked, so I'm trying to talk to him about the band.

Known releases:
Self-titled? Cassette, unknown date (most probably in the mid 90s). It's probably a live recording, but there's also a demo, so there are two releases and I'm pretty sure both have the same songs.
Track list:
1. Sectas satánicas
2. Enfermedad terminal
3. Marcado por el mal
4. Ansia de muerte
5. Muerto en vida
6. Un proceso de sofocación
7. Amortajado

As far as I know, they played gigs in Federal, Paraná and Buenos Aires, as well as a big amount of gigs in Concordia, if this helps in anything. There are some recordings of the shows but they aren't uploaded anywhere sadly.

Appeared in the TV MTV Latino show Headbangers in an unknown date (but before December 28th, 1997). Ríos owns a VHS with the episode where they appeared in.

The bands even had merchandise; T-Shirts with the band's logo.

Photo of one of their cassettes:

Owned by Luchi Rios.

To my surprise, maybe as a result of my post here, The Motowns album"Immortal" was suddenly added to Discogs. It was really released on Recycling Records and is maarked as "heavy metal/hard rock" there. So the only thing needed now are more samples to determine if it is more metal or hard rock:

Sometimes I wonder whether they honestly don't know what the band plays or they deliberately list genres that sell to boost their chances. :/

Yeah, that Cybernetic Errosion was listed as Industrial/Heavy Metal on Discogs. Turned out that the album was some soft electronic industrial with some sort of wave music. Didn't even have guitars...
