Have a few more on the way: A demo from Mare Frigoris that isn't listed here.

Edit: Hmm, info is sketchy in the tape and the time frame is exactly right but the tape is 100% ambient - so I'm not sure they are the same band.

If it's this one, it is a different band: http://t-d-g.net/products/mare-frigoris-demo-one-pro-mc
That Savage Garden tape looks interesting regardless, by the way.

The EPs and split were released digitally on their myspace:

There might be a CD of the split mentioned here, but I can't really find much else. Might just be referring to the digital version.

The Mare Frigoris is that one, so good. Will leave that off.

I got a total of 45 tapes in the mail last week including like half the damn catalog of The Throat - and that Savage Garden tape, I assure you, was the least interesting of them all.

Even if it's bad it's still cool :(

I bought the Tid tape and the Hsart tape I mentioned early on in this thread. Might as well see what it is.

So, I got them today.

TID: I can't identify the first two tracks, but the third tack is an edited/alternate version of this. Could be a cover but not credited as one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78dnOpSgPFM
The first two tracks also sound like Beltane songs. Gonna take a guess and say this is bootleg bs.

Hsart: I know I saw this on one of Bathym's lot auctions before, so I'm pretty wary. I might rip it and let you guys hear it and see if you can tell what it is. Slower paced, atmospheric black metal, though.
Mentions this label: http://www.metal-archives.com/labels/Ca ... uins/35708
Might be innocent but eh never know

Hard Rock/Heavy Metal
Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA

Released a demo tape in 1989. I messaged the next band of some of the guys (called Nevermore) and requested a rip of said cassette tape. Did some Googling, and found nothing. While I wait for the rip (or the a message telling me to kindly fuck myself), I figured I'd put this here since some of you seem to be Google Wizards.

Needs research. - Steel Assassin (USA, heavy metal)

Song material known from a 1/2-inch master reel tape, labelled "STEEL ASSASSIN Master":
01. Intro (2:20)
02. Queen of Sin (4:03)
03. Soul Shaker (3:20)
04. On the Highway (04:09)
05. Heart of Stone (02:59)
06. Coming Home (04:16)
07. Living on the Edge (03:10)

Not the same as Steel Assassin. See here: https://stormspell.bandcamp.com/album/demo-1986
Spoiler: show
Anyone with info about this band, please contact me, thanks!

(NOTE: This is not the well-known band from Boston, but rather an arcane 80s demo band from San Francisco/Bay Area sharing the same moniker)

I came into possession of a 1/2-inch master reel tape which was labeled "STEEL ASSASSIN Master", with "J.T. Productions, July 1986" written on the side-tab. There is also an address stamp on the back by "Haymarket Productions" from San Francisco.

I bought the reel from a local Bay Area flea market re-seller who could not give me any info, other that it was obtained in local storage auction. So in most probabilities the band must have been local to San Francisco area.

P.S. upon transferring the tape it turned out to be an 8-track recording with 7 songs on it - classic heavy metal in Judas Priest / Armored Saint / Cinderella vein:

01. Intro (2:20) - fast-paced instrumental, reminds me of early Omen somewhat.
02. Queen of Sin (4:03) - Armored Saint-ish heavy metal.
03. Soul Shaker (3:20) - Slow and heavy crusher, repetitive, yet with a dreamy captivating quality.
04. On the Highway (04:09) - Judas Priest-ish cut (Killing Machine / British Steel circa)
05. Heart of Stone (02:59) - Slow power tune with weird falsetto vokills
06. Coming Home (04:16) - Power ballad reminding me of Great White for some reason
07. Living on the Edge (03:10) - Fast-paced cruncher

Now comes the hard part of trying to locate the band. I've sent samples around, hopefully someone can remember something. If this was an 80s Bay Area band, it could have shared stage with other bands around, etc. If you know any information, please get in touch, thanks!

UPDATE, September 08, 2015: All efforts to locate the band have been fruitless so far. The "Haymarket Productions" address turned out to be a rental apartment building in San Francisco, resold and changed owners numerous times since 1986... a dead end.

Seems the only thing we can do is let the music spread around in hope to reach the people who created it. To that extend we are going to make a limited cd pressing which would be given for FREE with outgoing orders from our store, starting from November, once we have moved to our new location and re-opened the store. Keep an eye for it. Cheers and thank you for the ongoing support!

The following have all released tapes or have tape rips around, but were rejected due to pure lack of proof of distribution / info. If anyone has anything, feel free to resubmit.

Added. - Einsatzgruppe (France) Released "Death and Rebirth of the Glorious Reich" on cassette in 2006.
Added. - Rune (Norway). Released a two track "Blodhevn" demo in 1995. No info to verify release other than an alleged old rip.
Added. - Naragul (Australia) Self-titled demo tape in 2008. Cannot find the music to submit it.
Added. - King Kelkemmenar (Sweden) - "Dwemer Genocide" demo, 2002. No proof of release other than digital rip on a russian blog or two.

I tried finding Rune a while back. They were also featured on this compilation. I contacted one of the bands (can't remember which, tried to locate the e-mail but couldn't) and they said Dies Irae were the ones that put the compilation out. I couldn't really find much other than an old address on a scan here. I had meant to mail a letter and try my luck, but I never got around to it.

I tried but I couldn't find anything :\. You or someone else might be able to, though.

EDIT: I see Mysterium was added. Also Vidvandre from the Neseblod list was added a while back and I didn't notice. Updated OP with this and XES. I'll check out XES later tonight.

Needs research.
Bought a tape by a band called "The Deeps Beyond" a while back. It's Swedish melodic death metal and is around 21 minutes total, from roughly the mid-90s. It was rejected with the following message:

"Sorry, but there doesn't seem to be enough information to accept this. All of it is rather vague, third-hand evidence, and it seems a bit odd that the demo has a color cover but a handwritten tracklist."

It has the name "Janne Haka" on the insert. I was able to find a music producer on LinkedIn with the same name and so sent them a message. They replied with "Hi what you want to know about it and how You discovered it?" but unfortunately I have heard nothing since.

The seller had a bunch of other mid-90s demos which can be seen here. The original listing is here.

Doubt there's any additional information online, but maybe someone could look through some old Swedish zines.

Added. - In Moonshadow
Spoiler: show
There's also a black metal band called "In Moonshadow" which features members of Behell. I have a tape which contains "In Moonshadow - Mysteries Of Dark Woodlands" as well as "Behell - Live 22/01/96". There's no artwork, except for a xeroxed tracklist which has "Look out for the second In Moonshadow offering, coming soon..." on the back, and some handwritten inserts. No idea if anything else was ever released.

 When I made the front page news post, I was afraid that for every new post like Frozenith's there'd be one or more like Davide_Montoro's.

Guess I have to add some things to the opening post to clarify what this thread is really about. For all the good it'll do.

Random Black is a NWOBHM band that released a couple demo tapes. They are rejected, as I cannot find a way to prove that the tapes existed, such as a review around the time that it was released, a picture from a collection, a bar code, etc.

Added. - Antares (DEU), can't be added for lack of valid release.

The video description says the "8-track demo is available at the band's official website", so there could be a release, especially that the songs are fairly well-produced for a streaming demo. Nonsensical, I know. ;)

m-s.de is usually trustworthy (but I guess there's no reason not to treat it with the same caution as Discogs); the CD has 2 owners there, so safe to say it exists in some form (EDIT: it would appear that those are the same person, though...). But not entirely sure if it's a public release. Seems it's for a small fest in Hamburg, Chaos Underground Alliance. Referred to as a "promo-sampler" here, so I figure it was handed out for free at the show and/or shortly before.

I'll contact the m-s.de owners just the same.

Contacted BugenHagen.

I didn't submit it yet. The In Moonshadow side looks legit, it has a printed text label with insert/flyer and mentions the "Nocturnal Wintermetal" label. The Behell side is hand-written was probably added on as a bonus. I just sent a message to the Behell Bandcamp page so hopefully we'll hear something soon.

The vocalist of Behell is Grant Powell of Iron Hearse, so I will try to message him directly if there is no reply from Bandcamp.

No valid releases - Infernum Expectat
This band keeps getting rejected although it has a released single that is available for free download, and the band really exists, it has a fan page on facebook with 700+ likes, we are trying to spread this single before the release of the full length and having a page here makes a good opportunity, why do the rules have to be so strict with a band that exists and there are so many proofs it exists ?

here's the link: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Inf ... 3540380351
Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0MNbyp0IN0

I hope you do some research because it's really so unfair, we will be thankful for any help in this issue.

A well-produced release of 20 minutes should qualify your band for evaluation.
That can be found in the rules you were asked to read by the way.

Evidently not or you'd know that digital singles are not valid. You haven't read this thread's opening post either or you'd know that this is not the right thread for this.

From the Tyrol, no distribution/release proven apart from a YT upload. Track 2 is not a Kreator cover.

Too rough for digital-only. - Ümläüt (USA, heavy metal)
Spoiler: show
- The VOMA Demos (2014, digital demo)
1. One Eyed God (02:16)
2. Mountain Troll (02:49)
3. Blood of the Yeti (04:26)
4. Mighty Raven (06:44)
5. Night of Gaunts (03:15)

Only a rough digital demo, although they mention an upcoming CD edition here. It's pretty atrocious, though metal, I guess.

Hey Azmodes, the CD edition never came out.

Too rough for digital-only.

I bought it due to his close proximity to me.

I won a CD (physical copy) from this band, and since it wasn't listed here, I tried to upload it before.
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Hos ... 3540408783

The band was rejected since there's no information about how to get a copy (label, shop, distro or something like that).
I don't know, maybe it's just an indepent distribution, but I can't tell for sure since I don't know the guys.
(Some guy who went to my home via AirBNB left this copy for me since he noticed I like Metal music, but I don't have any further information)

If someone can find any information about how getting a physical copy would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Looks like that roll has cut outs to put on the CD-Rs that they have sitting on the table, to me.
