Needs research. - Burning Damsel
A YouTuber user contacted me asking if I could help him find stuff for one of his friends' old band, this is what he sent me:

Quote:
Hello, here’s a snippet my friend sent me of his old band. He’s currently searching for the master CD, but until then here’s a rough recording sesh from their first (and only) album.

Spoiler: show

The band is from Howell, MI. It had four members including:
Aiden “Dukakis” Jeanne on Bass
Lincoln Bushwell as the guitarist
Darren Sheabraker on drums
Blaine Hodgeson as the vocalist

The band was formed in 2002 and played small gigs from what I remember. Mostly open mic nights at the local pub and small local festivals. Band broke up shortly after new years 2004 due to multiple unforeseen issues dealing with personal matters. The song I sent I believe was the intro track to the album entitled “No Laws Past Midnight”. The genre could be summed up as thrash metal I’d say. The album was simply titled “Burning Damsel Live 2003”.

I am assuming the band was called Burning Damsel, which is the most likely scenario. I couldn't find any info on them so I'll recur to digging deep on the web and, if necessary, contacting any band members, but since a previous band member is trying to find the stuff I highly doubt that will help.

(March 16, '23) - have been informed by a local person that they were more of a prog rock band, and were friends with those bands that they played the gig with. Not sure if it's worth keeping them on this list with that taken into consideration.

Found a Moshall Law album on youtube, going to ask around about the physicality of the release. It's some kind of Groove/Thrash Metal/Hardcore mix.

Got a reply finally that the album I found on youtube was released on both CD and cassette. I will make up a draft of Moshall Law.

Needs research. - Pest

Country: Unknown
Genre: Death Metal, Grindcore
Members: Sombuur (Vocals, Guitars, Drums), Sigurath (Vocals)

Supposedly released a demo, Brain Matter as Lube, this year on Eternal Ruin Records. There's a stream on YouTube, but there's no mention of the demo anywhere on any of Eternal Ruin's social pages, and it's not really clear if the demo ever saw a legit release. I've reached out to the band and the label but haven't heard back after a few days, so I'm posting here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Update: I heard back from the band. They state that there were behind the scenes problems with the planned release, but that a physical and digital release for Brain Matter as Lube will be forthcoming at an undisclosed time. I'll keep an eye on this one and post when it eventually drops.

MDL:

Savage Heart - listed as melodic hard rock from Berlin, Germany. "Several releases, which are all sold out."
Axel Zabel Guitarist (1990-1995), Bob Nikolic Singer (1990-1995), Oliver Mohnke Bass (1990-1995), Vincent Chmiel Drums (1990-1993), Carsten Sott Guitarist (1990-1995), Daniela Lemke Keyboards (1990-1995), Brian Cody - Drums (1993)

El Enigma - same band that's listed on the site by this name: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/El ... 3540511287 . The release that linked artist Daniela is credited on (designer for an album from 2000) wasn't listed in their M.A. discography, though - so I moved it over from BlackFlag's draft.

Controversy - they have just one digital single so far (2 different versions).
https://www.facebook.com/controversyofficial/
https://music.apple.com/artist/controversy/1492196813

Kjeldor - listed as Melodic Death Metal from Arica, Chile, active 1999-2002. No known valid release.
single: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye8BeuN_K38 (members listed here, several that are listed on the site)
live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKDn1rcEZNg

Are there any that you think should be added to the research list?

Kjeldor has no valid releases for the site. The song that Spooky posted is the only song they ever recorded, as far as I know.

Thank you both for your help!

Taking into account what was found, I believe that maybe Savage Heart and Controversy might be potential cases. Savage appears to be more on the AOR side of things, but who knows, it can also potentially be melodic heavy/power metal in the vein of Infinite & Divine or Cardiant.

As for Controversy, they could eventually release a new single that warrants their inclusion. Maybe this is not the right thread for those cases, however.

Thanks!

I've eventually added missing info for all the artist pages named Daniela or Daniella, whenever applicable, like, real names, photos and such.

Now going after the ones called Daniel. There's just this one band that's like the entries above.

Here you go, MDL -

Odious - listed as being based out of Kevelaer, North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany, Death/Doom Metal, named Reconquered from 2012-2014, Odious 2017-present. The discography that the submitter added is for one digital track, "Odious" (5:32). Listed lyrical themes: Sadness, Horror, Cruelty. No links or samples provided in the submission.
Last known line-up (according to submission):
Kris Verbraeken Guitars (2012-2014, 2017-present)
(past members)
Richard Löper Bass (2012-2013) (in Reconquered only, not Odious)
See also: Menerra
Daniel Wollny Drums (2012-2013) (in Reconquered only, not Odious)
See also: Menerra
Andreas Dinges Guitars (2012-2014, 2017)
See also: ex-Kaltakustik, ex-Bloodrevenge
Sven Wortmann Vocals (2012-2014, 2017-2018)
See also: Menerra
Daniel Finkeldei Bass (2013-2014)
Sven Göhner Drums (2013-2014)
Manuel Büssel Bass (2017-2018)
Sven Werneke Drums (2017-2018)
Bastian Göke Guitars (2017-2018)

As you look into it, let me know if they're worth putting onto the research list (I haven't done so at the moment, in case it's a dead end or incorrect information). If this submission contains legitimate information and they can't be submitted yet, the artists on M.A. could have this added to unlisted bands in the meantime (definitely can't hurt to potentially put bands from this thread onto the radar of site browsers).

Needs research. - Bludgen (Bludgeon?)
Location: US (they seem not to be the Ohio band that they were once thought to be, https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Bludgen/3540409441 . Last names of known members don't match what is announced in the video, nor did song title(s). The band in the video also has a much different (and better-sounding) vocalist, and features stronger and tighter musicianship than the one known studio track on YouTube from the Ohio band.
Genre: Groove/Thrash Metal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXWaN9uXCYQ ('90s live footage uploaded by Ryan Bowers, who uploaded it at the same time as a Rukkus gig in New Iberia, Louisiana (though the latter might be completely unrelated).
From what can be heard and roughly translated (spelling guessed), when the band is introduced at 34:52 in the video, the members are Mark Schwarnea (bass), Lee Nuchan (guitars), Bree or Breeze (?) (drums), Jeffrey Miner (guitars), Kevin (guitars, vocals). Announced songs at the show are "Vote with a Bullet" and "Ostracize". They play covers of Pro-Pain "God Only Knows" ('92), "Unconditional" by Prong (from their '91 album), and "Chaos AD" by Sepultura ('93). Doesn't seem to be any of the other Bludgeons, or slightly altered spellings of the name that is on M.A. Release info unknown.

Not sure if this is appropriate to ask here, but a tape by one of the bands that's on the research list (Tabat Derjech) is available on Discogs for pretty cheap. I would be happy to purchase it myself, but since I'm not based in the US, I don't want to pay exorbitant amounts for shipping to Europe. Would someone local be willing to purchase it? I'd gladly cover the tape+local shipping fee for the sake of the Archives.

I heard back from the band. They state that there were behind the scenes problems with the planned release, but that a physical and digital release for Brain Matter as Lube will be forthcoming at an undisclosed time. I'll keep an eye on this one and post when it eventually drops.

Nice find, BlackFlag! This is metal, and from around when "Empirium" was released. They can be submitted/accepted in my opinion. Feel free to do so if you agree. (3 live videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiG5a5 ... ry=lubican )

Note about Tabat Derjech - the cassette is $8.50 USD, shipping included within the US. Sorry, but I'm going to pass on ordering it. Someone else might be able to help out.

Long shot, probably the same as Naname. - Na Name
Spoiler: show
Location: Italy
Genre: Thrash Metal (?)
- they were on a list of bands on the StrilloStrano site that had released a demo (in the '80s?). There is a band called Noname who are listed on the site. Not sure if there's a chance that they could have been mixed up, but there's nothing known about them, and just to have them mentioned on the page of Noname gives us as much info as we had on their page which was just deleted.

I found something. I'm going to prepare the report to upload the band to Metallum. Thanks.
