Well, yes, Black Sabbath played like that on their early albums. Is this illegal now, young man?

Of course, I understand that I'm an old fool and don't understand about music.

Don't "young man" me, mate, you aren't my dad. Being condescending and 80 years old will not make that demo sound any more metal. I tried to be as polite as possible about this outlandish statement, which is honestly hard because it's really "out there".

What it does sound like is Led Zeppelin which was a strong influence on Nau early on, those riffs almost sound lifted off their early albums. And there is a good reason Led Zeppelin isn't on Metal Archives. Or you think Led Zeppelin is metal too?

Also, what exactly "needs research" here? If it's metal, submit it and get it rightfully rejected, there is nothing to research here...

Brody (Japan)
Don't get them mixed up with this Japanese 'Brody' (Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture): https://brody1969.jimdofree.com/
They're a Sabbath/Motorhead type band who kicked off around 1994, I believe. Different line up entirely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LtCwWyJux0

I have the Groovy Heels S/T EP BTW. never submitted them as it sounds like pretty straightforward hard rock to me. Could have had a heavier sound earlier, of course.

Obyrne: Looks like this band changed their name to "Violent Tides" and nuked their bandcamp. Full EP is on YouTube though. Sounds borderline, leaning towards unacceptable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnNsUS_ ... Ya&index=3
https://www.facebook.com/ViolentTides

On this Day: Sounds like unacceptable metalcore.
https://soundcloud.com/onthisdaymetal/tracks
https://www.discogs.com/release/2238374 ... ox-Diaries

Oneiromancy: Thrash/Black metal. Will submit.
https://oneiromancy.bandcamp.com/album/oneiromancy-demo

Our place or yours: Progressive metalcore/post-hardcore on the unacceptable side (to me).
https://ourplaceoryours.bandcamp.com/album/ruins

Out Of The Ruins: Sounds like borderline, but acceptable melodic metalcore.
https://outoftheruins.bandcamp.com/album/reflections

Outlaw Renegades: Borderline Groove Metal/Core stuff. Reminds me of disturbed. Will meditate on this one.

Going forward, if the facebook link is dead and there's no VR whether from only Soundcloud, ReverbNation streaming or lack there of, I say the band should just be removed. It's safe to say a dead facebook means the band split up and tried to scrub it. I certainly try to use the dead url to find related links (YouTube, Bandcamp), and use the band and city as keywords, discogs. If nothing pops up, I make note of it. 'Giwakwa' for example has a dead facebook and a search turns up nothing. Of course, if the mods wish to air on the side of caution by all means keep them on the list. Or if they could do a scrub of their own before making that decision, that would be greatly appreciated.

Both listings of Nihilist (UK) can be removed. They were added today, and both listings turned out to be the same band. Thanks.

Redezra
Spoiler: show
Rochester, New York, US
https://music.apple.com/us/artist/redezra/1521878684

Were active for at least 15 years. Guitarist Allen Jones was their only consistent member over all of that time.

Earliest-known lineup (approximately mid-'90s):
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... ser/279716 (bass)
Allen Jones - Guitars
Jim Vice (guitars)
Mark Legott (vocals)
Chris "Foof" Abbott (drums)
That lineup recorded a 2-song demo, which was provided to the following website by vocalist Mark for download: https://www.thelastexit.org/new/templat ... -1995-demo (track listing: U Can't Break My Spirit / P.O.V.)

Next lineup ( https://imgur.com/a/PI8Zq7q ) had Ron and Allen still, along with:
Jeff Laffler - Guitars
Wayne McEvers (was also in the band Buried in Concrete) - Vocals
https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... Rue/900352 (drums)

Later lineup still had Allen and Wayne, along with:
Lyle Yonovich - Guitars
Larry Snyder - Bass
Chuck Saunders - Drums

Here is a 2020 archive of CDBaby's inventory where bands can be looked for and missing information possibly gathered. These are both linked to the first post, but I don't think they've been checked out much.

Just added a link by the local band network search for specifically metal CDs, rather than the list of bands (whether or not they may have released anything) that has been linked at that post for a while. This could be a more effective search, for one because that band list kept giving an error message from Waybackmachine after the 3rd loaded page of bands (50-per-page). This gets you straight to potential releases (alphabetized by band, which is in the middle column). Archived to 2005, so nothing on the page will be later than that.

Why are you even bothering using the web archive? The site's been up again for months.

I already did research all the way to Amaranthyne. There's an older thread on this part of the forum. I stopped going through that stuff because it was rather unfruitful, but I might get back to it sometime.

Planetate: "Experimental Djentcore". Got that right. Not acceptable.
https://planetate.bandcamp.com/album/se ... s9qmA4_3jI

Promonium Jesters: Industrial/Alt Rock with metal elements.
https://promoniumjesters.bandcamp.com/a ... -and-place
https://www.discogs.com/artist/194355-Promonium-Jesters

Providence NS: Dead facebook. I think the band's name is just 'Providence', and NS is meant to indicate where they hail from. Logo on their youtube backs this up. Tracked for an EP but I can't find it anywhere, or anything showing they even released it. Unrelated, but nice to see YouTube finally implementing their ridiculous, insipid anti-adblock policy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Raxkw9XnRJY&t=85s

Psychopathy: Renamed themselves to 'Necrosaurus Rex'. Some tracks on reverbnation available for download, but I don't think they put anything out under their former name. Will ask the facebook for clarification.
https://www.reverbnation.com/psychopathyofficial/songs

Psychotik Tantrum: Thrash/Crust/Grindcore. Sounds riffy to me, although I'm not familar with d-beat stuff.
https://psychotiktantrum.bandcamp.com/album/d-grind-ep

Putrid Brew: Hardcore

The drummer of Rocken was Kerry Kolodiazny: https://www.facebook.com/kerry.kolodiazny
W. Bradley was a songwriter for them, probably also a member.

Shark members on the site: https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Mil_Gagic/663238

If the link is still valid, 2 of their songs can be downloaded here to see if it's worth seeking out the cassette:

Prophesy can be submitted. Good find. Audio of both songs here:
Spoiler: show
https://www.popsike.com/Thrash-Speed-Metal-Private-80s-PROPHESY-Prophesy-Save-Me-No-Glances-45-HEAR/373208842108.html
Not thrash/speed like how it's described, but heavy metal.
People (band members?) that signed the record, worth putting in additional notes.
Will Burgin
Mark (last name??)
Woody Mansey (?)
4th member - ???

- In queue.

Stampede - not worth pursuing, based on a song here from a follow-up to that 2-song tape, the "Go Wild" album (1989). Miles from legit metal, or even hard rock.

Needs research. - One on One
Location: UK
Genre: Heavy Metal
Discography:
- One on One (1984)

I don't think the Liverpool band "One on One" would be acceptable in MA.

The band consisted (among others) of musicians known from Robespierre, Original Sin, Cloven Hoof. And there was Lords Of The Axis before One On One.

By the way, I wonder why everyone thinks that Pat Diamond and David Potter are the same "Water" in Cloven Hoof.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXUaGbqzLLk

Regarding Shark (also mentioned by Miro Alhonniemi)

I think they are too soft to be put in MA. They can be removed.
(if necessary, I could digitize and send samples of their demo when I find some free time)

Checked that One on One song on YouTube and I agree with you. Same with Shark single from HMF, so no need for samples anymore.

This page states that Pat Diamond / David Potter is also Water from Cloven Hoof:
https://facebook.com/patdiamondmusic/

Is it not accurate, though? The 'about' section is taken from a Wikipedia article, but if there's wrong info I'm not sure why he'd use it. Would like to help to straighten out the facts if it's inaccurate the way it's listed. Thanks.

Listening to Wreckin’ Machine and it sounds metal albeit with more hard rock than expected. Dealing with dropped audio when ripping the tape so it’ll take longer than expected to upload.

I forgot to mention that the band is misspelled as ‘Black Out Hatred’ on the list. Should be removed.

Is it not accurate, though? The 'about' section is taken from a Wikipedia article, but if there's wrong info I'm not sure why he'd use it. Would like to help to straighten out the facts if it's inaccurate the way it's listed. Thanks.

I don't know if this is the right place to discuss this, that's why I sent you info about Pat Diamond/David Potter in a private message.
By the way, I added samples of songs by the band JONAH (definitely not metal) from Miro Alhonniemi's list.

Tried submitting this earlier but it got rejected saying it need more samples on original songs. I contacted the band member and he offered to send the cd. After I told him I'm from Finland things got little problematic, since he said it would be easier if the receiver lived in US. So maybe someone here could acquire the cd and find out if it's acceptable.

Regarding Effigy (UK), noticed that a band by that name is listed as something that https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/ ... field/4833 was part of. Will look into it more soon, whether or not it's the same band.

Demo on YouTube - Which seems to have been recorded live.
[spoiler]

I'm pretty sure I remember them releasing the demo on CD but I can't find any proof of it listed anywhere. I was friends with Bob Shaw but he passed away last year. I'm going to try and reach out to Zach and Brad and see if I get anything back.

They were also releasing a DVD. I'm not sure what happened to it:
