One of the more incredible fest lineups I've seen in recent years. The trad metal crew in Houston has outdone themselves for 2020:

Has anyone been before? Can't believe this is all packed into a single day!

I went to this two years ago when Midnight was the headliner and had an amazing time. I'm definitely going to have to make it again so I can see Satan!

Great fest, too bad it's in Texas.

Yeah, this it the kind of lineup I wish Legions of Metal would do but they seem hellbent on the uber-underground route.

They had Cirith Ungol this year. They seem to do a good mix of bands nobody knows and bigger names, I believe they have Razor as a headliner for 2020 as well.

This is a pretty cool lineup for the traditional metal community! Night Demon, Eternal Champion and Haunt all rip live, then you've got the upper half of the bill being all legends - including the mighty Candlemass.

Not too familiar with the rest of the bands. I am somewhat familiar with Smoulder and High Spirits - but looks like a killer fest!

I have my ticket! Assuming nothing comes up between now and then, I'd love to do a meet-up.

That is a pretty sick lineup. I wish it was something that I could go to.

I got the first Venomous Maximus CD for the holidays, Beg Upon the Light. They were there the first time I went to this fest (I believe the first one), and they are also a Houston band. There is a song on this album called "Hell's Heroes." I can't help but wonder if it was named after the song.

Random thoughts aside, I'd love to meet any of you crazy bastards going to this thing. I'll be the guy with a DISSECTION backpatch (in spoiler below). Come find me and we'll do a fucking shot.

Spoiler: show

Anyone who comes up to me and says "Fuck BasqueStorm" gets a free Gatekeeper CD/Patch/Pin or whatever I have on me at the time.

Just bought my tickets, and I will ABSOLUTELY take you up on that

Anybody have a lead on motel recommendations in the area? I vaguely remember the fest saying something about partnering with some local places to offer discounts to fest attendees, but haven't seen any news on that yet.

Also announced is the Friday preshow, with Helstar and Bewitcher. Helstar playing all of Burning Star is pretty interesting, though I'd hope to hear some stuff from their other albums as well. But they played the main fest last year, so they're not really obliged to.

CANCELLED.

Quote:
Hell's Heroes is cancelled this year due to the current travel restrictions and continuing limits on the size of gatherings related to coronavirus.

All tickets are being refunded, or you can choose to have 120% of your ticket price credited to next year's Hell's Heroes. Check your email for details.

This is terrible and we are all very upset about it. We've been working on Hell's Heroes 3 since the day the last one ended and couldn't have been more proud to bring this lineup to Houston.

When we heard about the travel restrictions, we looked at every option to keep the show going, but couldn't make it work.

We apologize to every single person who gave us their support, and everyone who had plans to travel from across the country to visit us. We hope you're able to join us in 2021, where we'll be back with a vengeance.

New lineup, somehow even better than the original one planned for last year. Holy shit!

Definitely stoked to see that the fest will return next year! Everybody I wanted to see is still on the bill, which is awesome.

This would be a dream come true to see this. Dark Angel, Cirith Ungol, Slough Feg, Satan, Medieval Steel, Riot, Candlemass and Whiplash! These are some of my favorite bands ever! None of these bands would ever come to NZ.

This lineup is absolutely fucking nuts. Who all is gonna be there? I'd love to do a MA meetup.

We definitely should do a meetup. Assuming it still happens (unfortunately it seems like Delta and any other variants that pop up might re-fuck the continent) let's hit each other up closer to the fest.

I actually didn't get a ticket in time for the reannouncement. Was planning on getting mine before I got my next paycheck and it sold out before then. I put my name on the waitlist though, and I'm going to keep an eye on it closer to the fest to see if there's people selling their tickets who can't go. This is a fest I definitely don't want to miss, and I'm going to do everything I can to get a ticket.

Would definitely love to do an MA meet-up if I get to go. Would be badass to grab a beer with y'all and talk in person!

I'm gonna be honest, I'm worried about this. Delta is tearing through the schools, Mu is starting to pop up, and the Biden administration is basically in "Line go up!" mode.

I just don't see things getting shut down again, especially not in Texas. Despite Delta raging, shows and fests are back, and European bands are actively touring the US.

yeah i very much think this will be a "enter at your own risk" type of event. not so much worried about being able to attend, moreso if i'll feel comfortable attending. also whether or not internationals will be able to make it, other countries might prohibit travel to the us but who knows, its still 7 months away. would be nice to see the venue come out with proof of vaccination or negative test results to enter, buuuuuuuuuuuut, texas

Well, if anyone's got a pair of tickets and is feeling skittish about going, I'll gladly buy 'em from you.

I'm serious. I missed the sale and really want to go.

Just booked my flights and lodging! Getting excited. Heads up, the only hotels nearby are almost full, and there are very few airbnbs within walking distance.

Yeah, a bit worryingly they haven't posted anything about the fest in four months. But I think worst case scenario a couple of the European bands will drop out. This fest could be next weekend and it would still happen, with no mask or vaccine requirement, because texas. I'm boosted and will be wearing my mask for sure.

hey guys, I'm gonna sell my Hell's Heroes ticket unfortunately. It's coming up fast and we're still in the middle of a pandemic, can't really justify traveling to Texas right now.

Same price as I paid. $102.35

PM me.
