Have any of you listened to it yet? I personally love what I've heard so far, their previous album Level 2 was like a musical journey for me, loved the conceptual aproach of the digital life theme, and it had many epic moments, with all the proggy/spacey elements which are all present here too, but I feel them to be kind of more structured, not just wanky technical skills, and the lyric concept seems to be a direct sequel of Level 2, bonus point for me.

Some songs:

Thoughts? n_n

It mostly sounds like guitar wankery to me, albeit not as obvious as the standard technical noodle-ling going around. There's barely any song structure - just a whole bunch of cool sounding tid bits thrown in regardless of flow or consistency and the vocals sound like they were recorded in a separate room like Captain Beefheart, the pronouncing of certain words and holding of certain notes sounds random and is quite off putting, can't really blame him though as there's almost no beat to follow. On a basic human level I can see why you like it but I just can't see anything great about it.

They toured with Intronaut and Animals as Leaders and when they were playing my buddies and I just sat in the bar in an adjacent room. I don't get the appeal at all. Seems like just another tagalong mathcore group that tries to jam as many different sections of music into a song as they can. And this is coming from a BTBAM fan!

It was a solid release. Not as memorable as Level 2 but it had it's epic moments. I just want Mike Lessard to start writing with The Contortionist already.
