So I just came back from the Pestilence gig I really enjoyed seeing them live! By the time ''Dehydrated'' started I was hooked instantly. People started to push each other and acted like hyena's when ''Out of the Body'' started. Some of the Testimony~ stuff sounded far better, too, and even ''Horror Detox'' didn't sound as bad as on record. Mameli's vocals were a bit weird though; far different from his studio vox that I was used to and a bit more hysterical instead. Got to admit I cracked up when he shouted ''fuck that new metal shit! Keep old school death metal alive!'' Sure bro!

Glad you enjoyed the show though!

Posting in here because I don't wanna derail the other thread, and this deserves an answer.

Yes, I agree to that, HouseSpiders.

What genres would your metal-attuned mind categorize the following bogus albums as:

"Speeding the prawn"
"Altars of sadness"
"In battle there is no love"

?

I’d put “Speeding the Prawn” as DSDM also: Delicious Seafood Death Metal.

I've finally decided that I'm going to go back to school, with the goal of becoming a therapist.

DSBM would benefit greatly from more focus on aftercare.

Actually he is wasting his life doing something he hates. I'm saying that as someone who studied to be a therapist, and wow is there a lot of counterproductive shit involved, I had no idea. You learn 95% about schizophrenics and 5% about the general population who struggle with issues every day.

I noticed a trend of artwork for In Flames' Lunar Strain getting progressively worse with each re-release. Huh?

Modern In Flames is so horrible that even their good albums are made kinda bad now by it, even if it's just in the front cover. It's like they're purposely trying to make this look so unappealing that someone who's only heard newer In Flames would just be completely turned off by how crappy that looks.

Then again, they are a fan of modern In Flames, which means they already have atrocious taste to begin with.

My ideal area of focus would be helping kids and teenagers develop the skills to cope with their trauma. Having been through the wringer myself, the phrase "Be the person you needed when you were small" hits hard.

Good luck, mate. I'm currently studying psychology in Australia, and it's really difficult. I'm sure if you are committed, you will be fine, though.

Lmfao

Lunar Strain In Flames In Flames In Flames Lunar Strain. It's like they threw everything on there at once to compare the different designs and someone sent this one in to get printed by mistake.

edit: going through some 2017 releases. Just listened to Post Self by Godflesh. I feel like the songs here are really underwritten. Is it just me?

Couldn't a couple of those be printed on the plastic covering instead of the actual casing? Just playing devil's advocate, but there has to be an explanation.....

Speaking of poorly-designed things, the Ford regime plans to change Ontario’s license plate message from the nice and welcoming “Yours to Discover”, to his own party’s campaign slogan “Open for Business”. Because we all need more crass self-aggrandizement encroaching on what used to be apolitical things. :puke:

That's even lazy symmetry. That's like just writing 9-5-5-5-9. Check it out, it's symmetrical.

Side note, I was pulling for the only band on good.MA to be Manowar.

I first noticed it on the Mayhem page when I saw that all the studio albums after DMDS were axed, hah.

So far the only AF's that got me were the Korn addition from 2008(I think?), which I'm going to chalk up to being a forum newbie at the time, and then when the home page redirected to an "FBI warning" that MA had been taken down due to racketeering.

That one a few years ago where the review queue had no moderation was probably the funniest imo.

Am I crazy or was there a period towards the end of AF where every single link directed to Manila Road? Even links to reviews or artist pages
