Hi,
Nobody?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Dale

Quote:
Richard Anthony Monsour (May 4, 1937 – March 16, 2019), known professionally as Dick Dale, was an American rock guitarist. He was a pioneer of surf music, drawing on Middle Eastern music scales and experimenting with reverberation. Dale was known as "The King of the Surf Guitar", which was the title given to his second studio album.

Dale worked closely with the manufacturer Fender to produce custom made amplifiers including the first-ever 100-watt guitar amplifier. He pushed the limits of electric amplification technology, helping to develop equipment that was capable of producing a louder guitar sound without sacrificing reliability.

RIP.

I love some of his music.
RIP.

The guy was touring up til the very end because he had to. In the late 60s he was diagnosed with cancer and his expensive medical bills nearly broke him. He said he was literally touring so he could stay alive.
Amazing guitar style, amazing sound. Probably my favourite version of "Caravan" ever recorded.
Among other things.

Sad I never got the chance to see him live.

:ugh: He was a tremendous influence on my guitar playing. Seriously was way ahead of his time, love all his music. Big bummer, rest in peace, your licks will live on.

Man, that could so easily become a thrashy song with a little kick in the distortion. Awesome stuff. (EDIT: Just saw basquestorms link haha, it works pretty good)

Definitely hear a huge influence on metal with this guy. RIP
