Go.

Friendly guidelines, taken from Shutdown's suggestions*:
  • Do not claim or dedicate pages of this thread. Not only is it a waste of 1 post in every 40, it also creates a rush to reach the next page.
  • Do not whine about relationship problems. There are better places than this board.
  • Do not start or participate in conversations of a sexual nature in a childish way. This includes discussing your masturbation habits as well as drooling over random pictures of teenage girls.
  • Avoid constantly posting images (the occasional one is all right). This is not a picture thread. If you really want to show people several pictures then post a link to it instead.
  • Do not post small one liners that serve no purpose other than to increase your post count.

* These are not ironclad rules, but I *have* the authority to make them, so behave. :P

Ah, good. I can't even open the other one now. It keeps saying "No posts exist for this topic", no matter what page I click.

EDIT: It's actually happening for a lot of threads. :/

So what does everyone who's heard the Amon Amarth leak think of it? I think it's gone back to their harsher roots, it's melodic and such but not quite as melody driven or such as WOOOS.

Twilight of the Thunder God is still pretty fucking epic and awesome and it's good to see the solos, heavy powerful riffs, and Johan cannot pull off a weak performance,

Good, if the previous thread reached page 666 in less then half a year it would've been ridiculous. Anyway, I'll ask this again, I'm really, really interested in post-metal/atmospheric sludge, but not sure where to start. Suggestions?

I'm getting it for that thread, the now playing thread, the latest album purchase thread, and more than likely some others. Do I just need to clear my cookies or something? Because I went to the cookies folder and I'm not even able to access the files in there. I'm sure this is something on my end.

Ah it's too bad we've never got to 666. I'm assumming FFAXII will be Bordland II.

I think the "Latest Album Purchase" had the same problem as the last FFA, will that be remade too?

Well, those guidelines prevent me from making a POSTCOUNT + 1 LAWLS post.

Not that adding just one more post matters all that much at this stage...

Hmm... no childish sexual conversations, no pictures, no talk of personal masturbation habits... The only thing left to talk about is politics and metal.

Whoo!

Today is my first of 6 12-hour days at work. Six days in a row of 12-hour shifts. Ugh. All the worse considering that I really have nothing to do but occasionally check to see if a computer is updating on files it's supposed to be receiving--and, by the way, it's not receiving said files.

Jehova's Witnesses really suck at knocking on doors. They do it really lightly in attempt to be polite or something, but instead, it just sounds really annoying. *taptap*

I am downloading it now, AA are one of those bands that have never severely disappointed me and one of the few bands I actually buy all the cds for in a rampant whirlwind of fanboyism. Iced Earth and Blind Guardian being the only other two I can honestly think of at the moment so yeah I am stuck in my ways.

Anyways I am excited I am hearing good things about this one :P

Find a Bible, burn it, throw it out at the front porch. That'll get rid of them.

Somehow I think it was the worst FFA in the forum's history. Let's hope this one fares a bit better.

I tried some Kronenbourg 1664 last night, but was not terribly impressed. It was sort of grassy tasting, with little hop presence.

However I found out that local mom n pop liquor store in town has a small stock of Zywiec Porter - yay! Baltic Porter ist krieg. If it's half as good as Okocim Porter I'll be in heaven.

I saw Alestorm last night in Glasgow. What a tremendous show. It showcased several great bands from the local metal scene and it was a great gig overall with only one band letting the side down (Burning Skies - good musically but were let down by an awful -core style vocalist). No matter what you say about Alestorm, if they fail to bring a smile to your face live then you are dead. Seriously, Nancy The Tavern Wench is a kickass drunken anthem and a great night was had by all in attendance

Presumably it'd be up to the person who starts it, but I'd think Judas Priest would be a good framework. Post After Post, Threadkiller, Defenders of the Board, etc.

Regardless, she seems like an interesting running mate.

Well, when I logged in, I wasn't expecting to see a new FFA. I don't feel so dirty posting here now

I've really been getting into the most recent Alcest full length. I can see why alot of people would dislike this album, but does anyone else here really enjoy it as I do?

Aha, you won't be disappointed. It seems we have quite a similar taste in music since I'm a raging fanboy of Amon Amarth, Iced Earth and Blind Guardian. :metal:

From the few songs I've heard, it's pretty damn good. The title track is the one song I remember as being fucking epic. 'Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags' is really good also.

I'm thinking of starting a doom metal band with stoner influences (namely the bass style). I really dislike how a lot of metal has boring or inaudible bass, but stoner metal has awesome basslines. I'm pretty good with clean vocals but not harsh ones. So I'll be the singer and the bassist.

My question: will midrange or low-range vocals (I can do either) work well with this type of music? I'm about midway between bass and alto.
