I'm probably a bit late to the party on this, but thrash mixes really well with alcohol!

The DotD theme by Goblin!! Apparently, they also changed the codes to make it difficult for city officials to re-program.

...what? The Karl Sanders thread a few spaces below lists the latest post as being made by me, yet my post is not there and a search of my posts shows that it does not exist. Never seen anything like this before on any board after a site problem.

Heads up for Chasm fans. NWNprod.com has Conjuration of the Spectral Empire and Reaching the Veil of Death for five dollars each. As a side note they also have Infinitum Obscure's "Internal Dark Force", also five dollars. I think its safe to say I love the guy that runs that site.

They also have Dead Congregation's Full Length for $5. I not personally a huge fan but it seems to be well liked and pretty popular.

Don't you just love when you haven't heard a band in a while, and then you go back and listen again to find out that they're just as completely awesome as you remember? Root are like that.

Obituary are like that. I don't listen to them as much as I think I should, but every time I put on "Cause of Death" or "Frozen in Time" I'm just simply in awe. I think that Slowly We Rot and The End Complete are better than FiT, at least 10-12% better, but for some reason I end up listening to Frozen in Time more than the other albums.

Yeah, there are a host of bands that I don't listen to super often, but when I do, it is great. Pagan Altar are like that too, and most Prog bands.

I have this terrible feeling the FFA needs to meet it's end and a new one started, what with the infamous missing pages bug now affecting it, two pages as well. :(

Loss of faith with the university of Glasgow:

In a lecture on The Canterbury Tales on Thursday I was encountered with the unfortunate series of statements from a lecturer:
- Mentioning the word Ipod
- Bringing up a rap version of The Canterbury Tales without a joke along the lines of "More like the crap version, eh kids?" this wouldn't have been terribly funny but I'd have let it pass.
- Repeatedly mentioning the words "dissing" and "disses" and then relating it to the original.

Needless to say I won't be attending any of her lectures again, it felt like sinking into my seat whilst being sick at the same time.

The fuckin' Canterbury Tales? Are you kidding me here? Eh - no comments. When we did this as a obligatory reading in our 1st year introduction to british lit class we had two classes devoted to it full of theory behind it, interpretation etc.

I just found on the internet a documentary made for hellenic metal.
It's great to see the progress of metallic sound in Greece in mid 80ies.

Cons: no subtitles :X.

Yeah, it seems that this board is either in shrinkage or has contracted cancer since another empty page has been attached.

That happened to me yesterday. A mate who was visiting decided to randomly grab one of my CDs he liked the art on and play it. It was Storm of the Light's Bane, and I thought, yep, still awesome.

Google has fucked it up ... whatever I search for, all sites are marked as malicious.

No, my computer is ok... the matter is already discussed in the German Fx-Forum.

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I thought the Yogth Sothoth album I downloaded had harmed my computer again. Luckily it's fixed now.

At work, my boss (the MOS) and his boss (the GM) and myself were all trying to run wires through the ceiling to make the music from Lazer Tag play out in the ride area. After it was all finished, I got to hear shitty techno blasting out all over the place. I asked the GM if I would be fired immediately if I snapped and put it one of my CDs. I then learned that one of his all time favorite bands is Hirax, and he's a huge thrash maniac.

All the sudden, I'm not worried about asking off for the Kreator and Exodus show.

It should be fixed now, we were just speaking of it.

Hassan: I'll let you know soon, when I listen to it.

Kalmah fans, what is their best album?

Depends on your opinion of Bodom :p

Personally, I haven't listened to them in years, but I remember thinking that They Will Return was my favorite, although I like the vocals better on The Black Waltz (he utilizes his lower growl much more on that one). Don't take my word for it though, my opinion is tainted by youth.

I used to like all of kalmah's albums, their first two especially. Now I cringe whenever I try to listen to them. I reviewed their demo and "They Will Return" too (now deleted :D).

Start with The Black Waltz. It's their most "unique" album (depends on your definition of unique though)

;) Yeah, I guess I'll go for The Black Waltz then.

They Will Return is their best! Believe me, I'm a Kalmah fanatic. Although you really can't go wrong with any of their albums. The Black Waltz is great too. Their least best (because "worst" is the wrong word) is Swampsong, but there are a few great songs on there, including one of their best, "Moon of My Nights".

Given the likelihood that this particular FFA will be closed down, could we have a new one entitled FFA: Pussy's Playground?

Christ, I'm forcing myself to watch the Bee Bee Cee version of Jane Eyre, I fucking hate this sort of literature (although the television version hardly counts, aha aha *cough cough*). Still, this will verse me well enough so that I can win over both hearts and minds and next Friday's seminar with a series of misinformed and possibly sexist comments.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2OrV5CJ74A

this is more my sort of entertainment. "We want Rat! We want Rat!" Three part excellence!

Maybe there is still a chance this FFA version can be salvaged until the pages hit the proverbial number of the beast.

On a different note, the guitar tone on Acid King's s/t EP is awesome. It's heavy as fuck but it doesn't spoil the riffs. Just plain awesome, just like the band.

Dude that's the Blue Ball Factory from YTMND. I remember it was a hit when it was created. Must have been around '05. Anyway, it spawned a whole fad on that site, not that it takes much to do so. Damn I haven't been on YTMND in ages...I suppose I've outgrown it. Those were the days though...

Suicidal Tendencies are a fucking underrated band. Everything they released up to "The Art Of Rebellion" was very cool and immensly fun hardcore/crossover/thrash. And some songs just flat out rock like the opener on "Lights...Camera...Revolution".
