I don't really know. I wouldn't mind a new amp, but my family's not the kind to go forking over a few hundred for a gift.

Most times I just fill out a big list of bands I like and give those out so they can surprise me with CDs. So I guess I'll do that and hope for the best.

Ah I love X-mas! The weather and everything, it is my second favorite holiday. Halloween would be first.

I will prob just ask for cds or something, I am hard to shop more and usually just get money from people.

Also some here might get a kick out of this, it will get you in the holiday spirit

Probably just going to ask for better headphones and a few albums:

The Chasm - Spell of Retribution, Conjuration of the Spectral Empire, Procession

The Dogma - Black Roses

I'm getting a wireless system for my guitar, I'm sick of tripping on those cables all the time...

And, can anyone recommend me some good headphones for my mp3? I'm probably getting those as well!

I'm studying abroad in Mexico next semester, and the one thing I need most is a really nice digital camera. I've never owned one before, and now would be the perfect time to get one. So that's all I'm asking for for Christmas. :)

Cds of course.
Some movies.
Clothes.
And I already got the Alien quadrilogy box set and the new live Arch Enemy dvd.

And I need to think of more things.

Keep posting people... I need ideas to put on my wishlist for a gift exchange. I suck at finding things I want :( Mostly because I don't need anything in particular.

I'm just getting money.

Only things I want (not necessarily for Christmas) is a leather jacket (can't find any around here) and a jam space so I can finally get my band going. Other than that I'm pretty happy with my material needs.

I'm getting Benighted (Fra)'s Icon, a pair of chained shorts, and some other stuff I don't know about.

I really wanted a renewed subscription to Terrorizer magazine, and I told my brother that, but he's gone and gotten me something different, so now I'll have to buy it myself. :(

I've always enjoyed Terrorizer, so I'll stick with that. :)

I got my brother a graphics card for his computer. It's a GeForce 9600GT. Cost $200. It was what he wanted, so I hope it works.

Most of the time I just ask for some video games. For everything else I am usually a more efficient shopper than any gift-givers (things such as electronics & albums) as only I know both my price and exactly what I want/am willing to compromise on. The other things I want are all too expensive, so I just ask for some video games and then am pleasantly surprised when they get creative :) Clothes are always good, random fun things are good, books, etc. I am pretty easy to please. Cash is probably my favorite gift in the end, but I much prefer receiving real presents (as I like to think that someone put some thought into the holidays, not just some money). I hope I get enough cash this season to make me feel better about buying the new monitor I want $_$

Christmas is my favorite/least favorite holiday for the same reason: I see all of my extended family. Some of which is great, like seeing my uncle Carey, cousin Josh, etc. but some of which is awful like seeing my Arch-Bitch Aunt Tina.

At least you see all your family...I don't. All the aunts and uncles on my mum's side have nothing to do with us, and dad's an only child. So basically it's just the 4 of us (me, my parents and brother), and dad's mum. That's it.

I generally don't ask for anything as I wasn't brought up with the mindset that I should expect to get stuff. I wouldn't mind it if I got a nice armored jacket and a good-quality helmet. Motorcycle gear in general--I plan on doing lots of riding this summer.

Other than that, everything I need I can buy on my own.

I got my gift pretty early. I asked for a record player for christmas, and my parents bought me one on GC during the thanks giving sale. Im really enjoying it.

I also asked my sister for Boris with Merzbow "Rock Dream" 3lp for the holidays. Hope she actually gets me one, or most likely fork over cash which most likely will cover it.

My main gift this year was $400 that I got early and spent towards my acoustic/electric Ibanez bass.

I went Christmas shopping the other day with my sister, and picked out for myself from my family Iron Maiden's "Live After Death" and Bongzilla's debut.

I also saw a Maiden shirt the other day that had arrived in the post. Other than that, I'm not expecting a great deal of things - maybe a few more CDs or something, and as always money from certain relatives.

Funny story, though. My Mother has one sister, who has spawned a large-ish family. Last year we began the tradition of a Chris-Kringle of sorts to stop everyone from getting a whole heap of shitty presents, and instead just getting one from an anonymous person in the family. I was given, out of the greatest intentions by the person who got me, a Slipknot shirt...

I took it back the next day and got a Sabbath shirt and Pantera shirt as exchange.

dude bose are the fucking most overrated (and overpriced) headphones out there... I bought some for $100 then compare the specs to Sennheiser headphones which were 30 bucks.

Sennheiser's are the best.

but my list...

is a new bass :D

and then hopefully next year i can get a job and buy a new amp :)

Once I got older I started to tell my parents not to worry about it. They would get me odds and ends, most of it winds up being pretty cool. I spend more on them now than they spend on me, and I like it that way.
This year, though, they wouldn't take 'nothing' for an answer.

I asked for cash, amazon giftcards for stuff I can't find in stores, and a fancy-schmancy coffee maker.

They made pretty nice-sized lists for me this year, I plan on getting them everything they want, and more.

Most of the time for christmas day I just see my grandparents, maybe my cousin and her dad, and that's about it. My dad's cousins and stuff have a thing we usually go to, but maybe not this year. My family is pretty large on my dad's side, but very dysfunctional. None of my mom's side live anywhere near here (except her mom) so we rarely see them ever.

Yeah, if I could have a practice space for christmas, that's what I would ask for but no - not happening. :ugh:

I've asked for beer from all my flat mates, I just want them to buy me a fair few bottles of decent beer before I leave for home, I finish on the 15th and I'm hanging from till the 19th, so I thought I'd be unimaginative.

But other than that I want:
A ticket to Priest Feast, another Motorhead t-shirt (I can't find my nice Rock 'n' Roll one), a new coat (lost the old one at a party this year), some new cds (Manilla Road, Slough Feg, Kreator), old horror films of the British Hammer/Amicus/Tigon variety and the books I need for my course.

Also having my brothers not taking the piss out of what CDs I bought in the university period, not that there's anything wrong with my taste!

My mum said she will finance the refurbishment of my room (which really needs some refurbishing and has so for a number of years). Other than that, I like being surprised when it comes to Christmas so I never specify what I want (unless I really have my eye on something). I also have a job this time 'round, so I can buy my own stuff that I want and doesn't appear under the tree (this mostly includes albums). Now the only problem is that I can't pull out the ol' "I don't have any money" excuse, when people ask me what I bought everyone for Christmas .

So, in addition to the whole room thing, when my mum asked what I wanted for Christmas I just asked for a couple cheaper things; like books and dvds and what not to open on Christmas day. As, I said; like being surprised and often enjoy the present opening as much as the actual gift. I'm seventeen, and I still haven't out grown the joy of opening the wrapped up and colourful bundles that await me on Christmas morning. I treasure that moment, particularly now because I can't see it going on much longer for me. This may well be the last year I'm subjected to the ritual. :(
