Where do you guys see yourselves ten years from now? I am sure this has been done before, and this question is asked by many people. But I am curious to ask you all...

I see myself being in a metal band of some sort, drumming for them. At least, this is what I hope for, I have been practicing hard every day for the past year or so, and I think I am good enough, that by the time I am 20 I could be famous.

So, now it is your turn, tell me, and tell us all. Where will you be ten years from now?

I have no idea. I think I must have some anxiety when it concerns the future...

Some people do, I am not worried about the future, I am quite looking forward to it, the world right now, is terrible, with all sorts of terrible shit going on, I am looking forward to the future, and I want to grow old and have a family, then die.

I'll probably be even more bad ass than I am right now.

But if I need to go into more depth, I'll probably be out of college or almost done with my education and ready to enter whatever career I've chosen. I'd like something in English. I want to write fiction, but I need something else to substantiate myself. I'm thinking Journalism.

Hopefully in two years I'll be in Vegas winning millions playing poker professionally. So in ten years it's hard to tell, hopefully I'll be living a life of luxury with a massive amount of wealth from poker, travelling around seeing all my favorite bands in concert.

Possibly even a family?

Studying something and playing in a band, probably living in Helsinki. That's all I can really say.

In 10 years do you guys think you'll still be listening to some of the metal you're just discovering right now?

That is a hard question. I have just been into metal for 5 years or so. But I listen to the same bands as I started with even today. I like Iron Maiden more than ever, although I am not listening to them as intensively as before. Mostly due to mp3's....I don't spend hours with the CD-player anymore.

I probably will be, my dad is still listening to Iron Maiden's first album, and Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, etc.

Yeah, same here - although the reason I don't use a CD player is because mine sucks!

My drum teacher gave me these huge ass speakers he used in his recording studio, and a really sick sub woofer and amp, now all I need is a new stereo for christmas and i'll be good.

Well mine does to :D

Also, my collection of CD's is quite pathetic:

Iron Maiden-Edward The Great
Iron Maiden-Brave New World
Judas Priest-Painkiller
Judas Priest-Simply The Best
Dismember-The God That Never Was
Slayer-Christ Illusion
Evergrey-Monday Morning Apocalypse

Took me 5 years to achieve this :headbang:

Just the Evergrey album is enough to make it suck. :p

And in ten years I hope to be financially sound enough to be able to afford any CDs I want.

HEY! I bought it without knowing how it would sound :P It cost like 2$ so I just bought it without caring ;)

The first albums I would have bought would have been Seventh son..., Walls of Jericho, Spectrum of Death, Abigail and some other kick-ass stuff :metal:

I should be working as an engineer. Hopefully making beer if this Diageo thing works out, probably in pharmaceuticals but as a PhD if not. At that stage I'd expect to own my own home, possibly be married and have kids. All that shite, I dunno. Life is still pretty flexible just now.

I hope to either be doing political science research centered on international affairs, working with the State Department, or somehow gotten rich enough to live alone in the mountains of Montana without having to work.

Am I really?
I just really try to be friends with everyone. I have no problem with anybody, just as long as they have no problem with me.

Yeah, well, we all have that dream, and want it to come true for ourselves, so I know how others feel, no need to thank me.

What do you play by the way?

In ten years I will have finished community college.
I plan on staying in Oregon, and I will probably have a typical office job.
I should live in a apartment with a roomate, and I'll buy CD's and go to shows.
My music taste will still be based around metal, but I'm not sure what kind of metal I'll be listening to. I'll be 27 then.

That sounds like the life, I've always wanted to just kind of chill, have a job, and then go home and hang out with my buddies, and when I have spare time, go to a show or play a show.

I do vocals in 2 bands and bass in one of them. One is basicaly Ensiferum with a female vocalist and I do male death growls called Rosenrot. The other is a deathgrind band that is unnamed at the moment. I do alot of pitchshifting vocals and bass. But I mainly stick to deep grunts like Chris Barnes.

I don't know. Perhaps I'll be dead. Perhaps I'll live in China. Perhaps I'll have a family. It all depends on where my life turns. I don't know anything right now, and I don't at all feel comfortable thinking about it.

I feel like I have been set on some kind of path in life, and i'm walking i for the sole reason of finding out where it goes.

I have no goals, and I don't really have any dreams. As such, I'll be where fate decides to put me. I don't even know if I care where that might be.
