I was curious as to the existence of other decent metal forums out there, and thought surely there must be at least a few good ones. I used to use the Dark Lyrics forums a lot, though it seemingly disappeared from the face of the internet one day, never to be seen again.
What other online extreme metal forums do you frequent, and how do they compare to MA?
metal-forum.com is fairly good sometimes, though most others tend to be disorganized and unpleasant.

I don't think any other metal forum compares to this one without it being riddled with mallcore kiddies, tuffguy -core fags and people who don't know shit about the genre.

The Ultimate-Guitar metal forum is pretty good, if you're not too elitist. There are a lot of Dimebag and Opeth Fanboys though.

It's a lot better than it used to be. Pantera threads get flamed as much as they do here. Opeth is worshipped there, though.

I get my tabs from this one site. Good tabs too. The bad thing is that the forums are filled with 4aggotchans (considering how many of them say lulz) and pseudo-elitists.

I like the MA forums the best.

I recently joined the Full Moon Productions forum, but it seems that everyone there hates every band. I haven't posted, but nearly every thread is filled with people flaming the band in question.

I used to be a member of the Metal Rules forum, but that was like 6 years ago, so I'm pretty sure it sucks now.

Just the Nile forum. Was a member of Blastwave.org/Blastwave.co.uk back when it was decent, stayed through its decline, didn't post for a month and all the sudden it was gone---no email, nothing on the site's MEEEspace, nothing came up in google.

Was also a member of Sonicdeath.co.uk, which was amazing before it dropped off the face of the planet. There's a couple of other folks around here who were members; Nightgaunt, weeman, Cynical. Maybe one or two others.

I'd avoid at all cost. Full of "Only (insert band name)" threads. Gets boring after a while.

I lurk a few other forums, notably www.thecorroseum.com which hasn't been mentioned yet and can have some good discussion of real oldschool obscure stuff sometimes. I also lurk the ANUS forum, which can occasionally have interesting in-depth discussion of extreme metal (if you can stomach wading through lakes of pretentious bullshit). This is the only forum I really post on though. Been here for years, no intention of going anywhere.

ultimate guitar has a terrible forum. damn n00bs everywhere. they seem to think that their mods are the "all knowing" of metal.

Though quite a bit smaller than MA, www.metalcrypt.com is rather similar to this site.

I'm on the Meshuggah Forum, but that site is much different to this. Constantly posting things like "whoa d00d u got sik burnz!!!1" is allowed, and almost encouraged. It's a good site, with some cool people, but the reputation system is something I don't agree with.

I was a member of the forum for a short while years back, it didn't impress me much. Maybe it's better now, I don't know.

Blackmetal.co.uk forums were alright, but there was some rather pretenious wankers on there and that put me off that site (there's an almost pseudo-elitist vibe about it) though it's down for the moment and nobody is sure when it'll be up again, (kinda like the Internet forum equivalent of Wintersun's 'Time' or Duke Nukem Forever).

Well, they're not AMAZING forums, but the site is dependable and a good resource for metal and whatnot. It's small, but it's entertaining and a good side overall, although the forums aren't always extremely active.

About a year or two back, I used to frequent the 'Diabolical Conquests' forums. Again, it was sparsely populated. People wouldn't reply for days on end. Don't know about now though

Anyway, I used to be a member on MetalTabs forum but it's full of elitist pricks and intarwebs tuff guys. Also I got banned for repeatedly starting flame wars, but its fine - if you dare think outside the box on that forum, be prepared to have your anus and all its contents handed to you on a plate.

Nothing at all could possibly compare to M-A.
