Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson passed away today from cancer. Man, that sucks, he was just getting his treatment started. RIP man.

On another note, football can't start soon enough. I'm tired of all the off season speculation shit.

It is dangerous if you give away the fact that you're supporting the away team. I'm not that stupid. The Newcastle fans were ... Boisterous as fuck. Never stopped singing, god bless them.

It sucks about Jim Johnson. He was a great coordinator. I always loved the Eagles defensive style with him. A lot of fun to watch as a defense which is certainly not the norm.

And yeah, I'm more sick of baseball than off season speculation and what not but that gets old after a while too.

The whole Michael Vick situation is interesting though. There are a handful of teams I think definitely need a player like him and the ones who've said they aren't interested aren't the ones with a big need so I definitely think he'll be picked up soon.

If someone picked up Vick right now, he wouldn't be in playing condition. He’s just not, and people can talk all they want about his athletic ability, his cannon arm and his abnormal talent with a ball in his hands. But that takes time to redevelop. Sure, it isn’t gone by any means, but it has to be polished, it has to be worked on and, at this level, it has to be perfected to work.

I know for sure he's not playing fucking HB or RECEIVER like idiots keep saying. He was a good runner because he was the QB. Put him behind the QB or on the line of scrimmage and he'll get jammed/broken.

The Packers organization has to be laughing their asses off right now while the Viking's staff has to pretend that their two quarterbacks are worth a shit. A two full days before camp starts, Brett decides he will stay retired after all.

I was kinda surprisd about Brett, but here's to the fucking annual soap opera being over. I always liked him, but the amount of coverage was nauseating. As for Michael Vick if the Chiefs pick him up Ima keep an extra-watchful eye on my puppy! Seriously though, I don't want an animal sadist running the option. Fuck him. I hope he gets his legs broke.

I say he should go to Cleveland. Vick would be a good fit for the Dawg Pound.

Don't count Favre out yet. He probably just doesn't want to go through training camp. Childress should shut the door on Favre now, since he's already said that if he wants to play for them he has to be in camp...but Childress probably won't.

Favre has been a drama queen for the last couple of seasons. I don't mind if the guy wants to play, but cut this prolonged "will I or won't I" shit out.

Pun aside, it's not a bad idea if they can't sort out their quarterback situation and their reciever corp doesn't get any better. I was thinking San Francisco, Jacksonville or St. Louis but those are teams who kind of need immediate help and I do think stickyshooZ is right about him not being able to help immediately although I think it will be because of Goodell and teams worrying about their reputation rather than his ability.

A team like Arizona would be an interesting situation for him as well. They'll need a quarterback once Kurt Warner is gone which will be soon and having Vick would make their offense even more potent while Warner is still there. It'd be interesting to see what Vick could do with those recievers, too.

Huh? There's no way Arizona would sign him. For one, the franchise values character guys. Kurt obviously being the shining example. And they got Matt Leinart waiting in the wings still. You have to remember that Warner only beat out Matt by the skin of his teeth(it was a decision made a week before the start of t he regular season.) That's the only reason why you never hear about him is because of Kurt taking them on that run. Micahel Vick is out of the question for this team. They don't need a distraction to this team that he would surely bring anyways alongside that fact that they don't need another QB.

Kurt Warner isn't going to be around for long, and even though Warner wasn't playing well and barely beat out Leinart, Leinart played even worse which is why he lost. Why would they believe he can come in and have an impact? Anyways, I agree with what you're saying, but I think it would be an interesting and smart move by them even with the "character" issues. Speaking of which, it would be a better environment for him than other teams who aren't committed to character like Arizona. Also, they have little to no running game unless Beanie Wells really makes a splash. Hightower is decent but he's not been anything but a goal line back, really. Vick would give them a running game even if he lined up at quarterback. I just think it would be a good fit despite the fact they probably wouldn't consider him.

Even if they did sign him, that would show very little faith in Kurt Warner who they signed to a good two year agreement. And their offense isn't built for Vick. Matt Leinart played badly in that one preseason game(Matt Cassel played badly in preseason too). But there were actually flashes of brilliance from Leinart when he came into the game during that blowuot in New England. The jury's still out on him. I think he can be a very quarterback in this league.

Big game tonight between the Dragons and Storm. Both teams are flying, with Dragons on top of the ladder and Storm in 4th. Dragons have a bad record against the Storm...only won 1 of their last 7 clashes or something. It'll be a big test for them, to show the competition that they're genuine contenders for the premiership this year.

GO THE MIGHTY DRAGONS!

Apparently Belichick has high praises for Vick and its also reported that VIck is close to signing a team. I suppose if there was a team that could handle having him it would be the NE Patriots since they got good leadership I say!

The Patriots won't sign Vick. They're stocked enough on talent and they don't need the distraction. Seattle I can see being a possibility, because it's a small media town. Not that New England isn't, but Seattle is considerably less so. Yeah, you're bound to get a few protesters here and there, but as long as Vick helps his team win, his past crimes will be a footnote.

The Buffalo Bills will once again finish with a record of 7-9. Dick Juaron is outcoached numerous times during the season, the defense is mediocre at best and Terrel Owens will do his usual diva crap, except the Bills suck any way so it won't really matter if he's a "cancer" in the locker room ' cause the Bills are lowsy to begin with.

The Bills signing Terrel Owens was pretty much a move of desperation. They need to win now, in order for Juaron (not to mention Edwards) to keep his job. Though, I agree...Juaron is not that great of a coach. He had 1 good year in Chicago and has sucked ever since then. I'm sure he's a good guy and all, but he gets out coached constantly. He's the type of guy who's more suited as a positional coach than a head man.

Did anybody actually see this game? What an absolute cracker. Looked bad when the Dragons were down 12-4, but they, uh, "stormed" home. The premiership is theirs to lose, so I hope they can keep their heads on and not get carried away.

The game was pretty good, probably the only time i actually ever wanted to see the storm win.

I fucking hate Jamie Soward and Sailor.

Inglis's try was good though.

I like Soward and Sailor. :P

The Storm had some really good attacking opportunities all game, so it was a credit to the Dragons that they somehow managed to keep them at two tries. Inglis' try was really good, and it probably deserved to be an 8-point try.

I'm a Dragons supporter, so I'd love to see them go and win the premiership this year. It's their best opportunity since 2005.

Methinks I'm done with the Blue Jays. Enduring 15 crappy seasons in a row is too much to take, especially when there's no end in sight. I don't think I'll waste my time watching them as long as Richardi is the GM, and Wells & Rios play for them. I'm sick of Richardi with his lies and "5 year plans" and all that bullshit. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice (actually, more times than that), fuck you! :p

Ouch, you have my condolences. Kansas City fans have the total right to lament too. Toronto has fared better than them statistically, but in the AL East, it doesn't matter: if you win 90 games there, it might as well be 90+ losses. And then you get this jackass GM who keeps selling how they're going to be able to compete with Boston and New York  2008 put a competitive Tampa Bay team in the mix. It'll be an act of god if Toronto can compete with Baltimore from now on.

Hey it is not the big players fault that they do not want to play in Canada's only team.

It is time they get rid of Richardi and get a better farm team because they need to draft better.

Toronto USED to attract great players. No idea what's happened the last few years. And the players they do keep long-term, completely suck. I can sorta understand signing Rios longterm (even though he turned to total crap the second he signed that deal), but the Wells contract VERY risky (him being the bitchqueen of all China Dolls, after all). I've heard how "Wells is the team leader" and how its "his clubhouse" - honestly, I think he's the root of the Jay's problems. He's a cancer and he needs to get hacked out. You can only fire the coaching staff so many times until you have to start turning the blame towards the players.

Overbay sucks total ass too, I almost wish he'd get released.

With Richardi, I think Russ Adams was the #1 draft pick when he took over. Show's how great a GM he is. One of these days, I should try to find a list of the good players who were drafted after Adams...

56-0?!? Not lost, but loSING?? Bloody hell, haven't the Broncos taken a turn for the worse!

Sad to see the Swans lose tonight as well, I thought they almost had it in the bag but just ran out of puff. Caught the last ten minutes though, great game to watch.

Heh, yeah, that was a bad loss for the Broncos. Their season is basically finished.

Damn, I didn't see the entirety of the Swans game, but that would've been a good one. St. Kilda win yet again, but you can't get any closer than that. When was the last time an AFL team went a season without losing?

To add, I saw the highlights of the 32-32 draw between the Panthers and Warriors. The Warriors completely blew it, after leading 32-6 at some point in the second half. They tried for a long range field goal, which bounced off the crossbar in extra time, but they should've wrapped that game up long ago.

How I'd love to have him back. He's retired, but an adviser to the Phillies. Toronto hasn't done shit since he left. In Richardi's defense, he's better than Gord Ash (god, that guy sucked ass).
