Anyone know where I can get a trainer for Company of Heroes 2.4? Those faggots at CheatHappens force you to pay for membership before they let you download it.

Yeah I know, "Lol why the hell do you want a trainer, pussy!" I've pretty much exhausted the replayability of COH and I hate playing online, so I want to experiment a bit.

Ada should be the main of the next RE.

Would probably be too epic though.

 I'm the opposite. 1/4 back on the right is difficult for me.

I've noticed I have a rather odd style of holding the controller when I play SF4. My left hand is in standard controller holding position, but my right hand is very off. I keep it on the top of the controller (where the shoulder buttons are). So I work the left shoulder buttons with my left pointer/middle fingers (and right pointer/middle, depending on the situation), the right shoulder buttons with my palm (closer to where my knuckles are), and the face buttons with my thumb. Somehow, I'm much better this way.

I've been using the 360 controller too, but I must say the D-pad is awful for any sort of fighting game. I've been using the analog stick, and it's decent but inconsistent. I'm hoping to pick up one of the MadCatz fightpads and/or a TE Fightstick when they become available. I might win one of the fightpads at a tournament this week, that would be pretty ace.

Train...er?

As for exhausting it, I'm assuming you've got Opposing Fronts, get the new patch, it has all the ToV stuff in it, then go to Filefront and start downloading maps and mods like a madman. :)

RE0 is an awesome game. It's kinda sad that it fell by the wayside and didn't get very much attention, because it's the pinnacle of the pre-rendered backgrounds in Resident Evil and still looks amazing. My favorites, from best to worst, are:

RE4
RE2
RE0
RE5
RE1
RE3
Code Veronica (although I haven't played this in forever)

And then, of course, all of the crappier ones that no one cares about, like the light gun games and whatnot.

I dunno what it is about 3, but it just rubbed me the wrong way too many times. Starting you out with such a huge amount of weaponry, constant Nemesis attacks...ugh.

I agree...Ada would be an awesome main character, especially since we still don't know exactly what's going on with her.

Yeah a lot of people think they'll have to put more of a focus on Ada for the next RE game(s) in the main series. Even though RE5 doesn't really ... handle the past material very well at all, I really hope future RE games do a better job at that (ie: All of Wesker's work in the past games was for, nothing?) I think it'd be epic if we could get to see things through Ada's eyes, with Leon as the side character. And hey, just like the old games they could have us switch up who we play as at some parts. Hell, it'd even be cool if they made a game where you played as her through the events of the old RE games, with RE2 probably being one of the biggest parts.

RE0 I plan to get too once I finish CV, which I'm really enjoying, but it is probably at the end of my list regarding the classic styled RE games. Great puzzles and it feels a bit more challenging with the combat but, the atmosphere isn't as thick as the old games and some of the characters are utterly annoying (Steve and Alexia, etc).

It might be weird to admit this, maybe I'm not the only one, but I have to say I love pre-rendered backgrounds. I honestly think it makes a lot of PSX-era games age-less. Whether it's an RE styled game or an old JRPG, a lot of them still look amazing to see with awesome environments and whatnot. So I always thought that was cool with RE0, it'll be cool to see highly detailed backdrops. I've heard a lot of mixed things about the game, but I'll definitely be giving it a fair shot myself. After that I'll probably finally go through the REmake too.

I liked RE3 a lot actually but it certainly did feel a little different than the first two, more linear and such. But I loved the atmosphere and the setting, being trapped in a barricaded city with nobody to save you (oddly kind of made me think of HL2's City 17 at times). I thought it was a simplistic premise (all Jill wants is to get the hell out of there) that worked pretty well. I think RE2 had the best atmosphere but at the same time, I was slightly disappointed at how short it ended up being (this is also taking Claire's scenario into consideration), the underground lab / factory was incredibly epic, but once you get there you may as well go through the rest of the game in one sitting. But oh well, still loved it and the entire game was really memorable.

Respect, RE0 was my favorite one of those pre-rendered, one camera angle per shot line of RE games. One rental and I was hooked as can be, especially when fighting those tyrants. Billy + Shotgun was king.

So I went into a store today and saw Deadspace. Last week it was something like $80-100. This week? $15, and they had a shit load of them. Is Deadspace really crap or are people just not interested in the game? I would've bought it myself if my comp had the juice to run it...

How anybody can like those things is beyond me, they feel absolutely terrible when playing an FPS. You should feel like you're killing, but the controller makes you feel like you're hugging a bear or having a tea party.

Don't even get me started on the Halo series.

Ha have you ever tried the Duke controller? You know the big ass xbox controller before the s type? THAT was huge. Personally I prefer the controller to the keyboard/mouse combo. May be not as precise, but it's more comfortable and I just... prefer it. I'm so used to it that I don't have any problems, it's second nature.

As for Halo, yes it's overrated and those fucking kiddies overwhelming the xbox love games are a fucking plague. Do their moms even know they're playing a violent game meant for people 10 years older than them? Yeah it's overrated but I like the gameplay, the influenced-by-all-the-classics sci-fi universe and xbox live games can be so much fun when they are not plagued by kiddies, people quitting, exp grinders, and people yelling at everyone because the team is loosing the game which is actually rare.

So yeah, as some of you may know the Japanese Blu-Ray of Advent Children that was recently released contains a PS3 exclusive demo for Final Fantasy XIII. If anyone is interested someone is streaming it on justin.tv

Yeah, yeah... they can release it on blu-ray all right, but why haven't they put the bonus scenes on the "collector's edition" in the first place? And why do I have the weird sense they are one of those unmemorable silly fight scenes instead of interesting story-driven ones? That movie was shit, a cash-grab for ffVII fanbois who cram their pants when they see their fav ffVII characters in CGI doing some absurd battle for an hour an a half in a movie without any substance at all devoid of any interesting storyline. Hell I wonder if those kind of fanboys even exist, I mean you had to love the story and all and not just the caracters and boss fights. And now, Sony release a new blu-ray edition with new scenes so people who bought the collector edition in the first place will re-buy it again. Yeah I have it because I love ffVII and among other reasons wanted to have the anime mini-movie, which was better than the actual movie in the first place. Probably due because it was based on ffVII events and because it wasn't all based on battles and had that sick not-that-shitty-anime-for-kids art style that was moody, dark and the best that could represent the game.

youps... I'm ashamed of making the error as I hate them very much. Another reason besides milking the ffVII franchise that I hate them, releasing both ffI and FFII separately on psp for the whole price. Seriously? Anyways, you only have to know that they piss me off. They don't make any good games anymore.

It'd be cool if they gave what the fans wanted, a PS3 remake of FFVII. But I guess they're too busy with..

Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII
Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode: Final Fantasy VII
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children
Last Order: Final Fantasy VII

I'm not a huge fan of FFVII at all, but it's a fun game in th end and if a remake existed I'd definitely check it out. But yeah, I hate all the spinoffs because the characters and basically everything just sucks. Advent Children even brought down what I used to think of FFVII because of how bad it was. Tetsuya Nomura was a mistake... a character designer shouldn't have as much control of things as he does nowadays.

Square is a sad joke of a company now, whatever ever happened to games like Xenogears? I'm pretty convinced FF XIII will suck, as much as I'm convinced anything Nomura touches will be a yaoi circlejerk.

Yeah, they're mostly more preoccupied in making cash grabs than making actual good games - maybe series worth - worth of making a lot more money. What's better making FFVII spin-offs that will be bought only by fans, hell almost die-hard fans, or new GOOD series that could be bought by square - if there is any, well maybe for the old games - or JRPG fans. Hell they should stop making any FF at all and start anew.

I'm kind of excited about FFXIII because of the setting, reminds me a good bit of FFVIII's hybrid sometimes-futuristic world. The combat also looks really fun (looks a lot like Xenogears-esque stuff if you ask me)...But yeah, who knows. Haven't been a "huge" fan of the FF series since the PSX days.

And yeah, it'd be nice if Nomura learned how to draw more than just women but I've definitely given up hope on that one.

Whoa, what?

I'm still in this huge retro-PSX phase and I'm finally playing Parasite Eve (went ahead and ordered the second too, which I generally hear was a good follow up). Aside from the quirky camera angles at times and the slow walking, it's an amazing game so far. Kind of makes me want to go all out and play Vagrant Story again too.

And there's recent talks of a new Vangrant Story game possibly being worked on. The thing is though, I kind of wish SE would just make new IP's and leave their old stuff alone. Like the Chrono series? I'd rather they just leave Trigger and Cross be and not dive into that series again because the SE of today, isn't the Squaresoft we used to know back then. Not to mention they've pretty much raped the Mana series into the ground if you ask me. Vagrant Story is another game I think they should just be ... left alone, but I guess we'll see if that's true or not in the first place. I'm just cynical about them thesedays, "Can they pull it off?" is the issue.

So I guess I'm saying a new Parasite Eve could be cool, but I'll remain very skeptical about it.

I know Nomura designed the characters for the PE games, but she just looks ridiculous in that picture. I know I'm pretty critical about him, but seriously, all he's capable of doing anymore is retarded bullshit based on what 15 year old weeaboos think is "badass".

Anyway, I'd still like to try the game, as long as they don't give him too much freedom with the gameplay and story.

Keep in mind this is Australian dollars, so that's 8.26 Euros or $10.80US for a game that is still essentially "new". :o

Eh, I dunno T51b, reading about it makes it sound a lot less interesting. PSP title, "Director Hajime Tabata has described the game as a "true third person shooter,"" ... :ugh:

And "The 3rd Birthday" is ... are they kidding with that title?

that's games I should play one day. Some time ago I bought a couple of old snes carts and psx games but never had the chance to play them (or replay them). I got through Earthbound only once as Super Mario RPG and never finished secret of mana. I'd need to do yet another playthrough of Crono Trigger and Chrono Cross and seeing my lil bro playing Legend of Legaia made me want to play it someday too. Hell, so little time, too many things to do.

lol, are you kidding me? You even see a "shadow" of her at the end of Claire's game when you're fighting the last form of Mr. X, she throws down the rocket launcher.

... and then there's RE4, which she's obviously in.

Now my question is, did John die? Is John a real person? My mind could be a little jumbled about it since I've been playing through all the RE games in a row, but I don't remember hearing about John's outcome or anything. He was "apparently" the reason why Ada was where she was at in RE2, but that turned out to be for something else too. John and Ada are both mentioned in the underground laboratory around the end of RE1. Other than that though, I can't remember if there was a diary about him being dead, someone else, or not.

Evil_Johnny_666: Yeah, I had several RE games and Parasite Eve for literally years I think and finally didn't get around to them until just now. Definitely another reason why I don't sell games, who knows when you'll get around to them and end up loving them.

Yes, John was a real person. He was head researcher at the mansion in RE1. Ada was ordered to get close to him for that reason. During the original outbreak he is turned into a zombie.

Hmm, so Ada was like ... double crossing him and others? Because in the note about the password that only her and John knew, he knew she was not working for Umbrella (the password ended up being "MOLE", I thought that was a nice touch).

Damn, you just don't mess with Ada. It's still one of the biggest mysteries behind the series, not knowing who she works for. And it wasn't Wesker either (if I remember right she gives him a fake sample of the Las Plagas at the end of Ada's Sidestory in RE4).

Yeah, Ada was working for "The Agency/The Organization". The same people that told her to screw over Wesker by giving him the fake Las Plagas sample.

That should clear up some of the questions.

They are making a new Parasite Eve game so I cannot hate on them to much. That is something I have wanted for a very long time.

Parasite Eve fucking sucks.

Dude, what? I repeat: Parasite Eve really, really fucking sucks. I cannot fathom why anyone but a Square fanboi would remotely like this game. :ugh: Why can't Squaresoft die in a fire already? Stupid Japan.

Maybe because they've produced some of the best RPG franchises of all time?

Yeah, really. Let's see their "franchises":

- Final Fantasy: has sucked tremendously for over ten years. Last good FF game was FFTactics.
- Chrono series: only Chrono Trigger is decent (and yet overrated). Chrono Cross was garbage.
- Saga Frontier: hahahahaha.
- Parasite Eve: we've already established that it's completely worthless.
- Seiken Densetsu: Secret of Mana was okay. The rest is crap.

I don't think I need to go on. Square needs to die in a fire, sadly that's not going to happen.

Just because you seem to think all those games suck doesn't make it so, and it doesn't change the fact that those games were all mostly extremely popular.
