Haha, it's cool. I suppose he imported it? It wouldn't be hard to play because the PlayStation 3 isn't region coded.

Yeah he's a huge gaming nerd and gets all of the shit that comes out in Japan that isn't localized. I liked that they were still continuing the Vs. franchise but it's just really not as fun. It's too slow and cumbersome and simplified. I liked the high velocity of MvC2, it's really missing there.

Oh wow. If that's legit, MvC2 will be my first PSN purchase.

Legends of Wrestlemania is a fun enough little diversion, though a heavily simplified version of Smackdown vs Raw (if that's even possible). Fun going through Legend Killer Mode with Chris Benoit.

I thought about buying that one, I still don't have any new wrestling game though. I wish they could release one with the middle school rooster - mid nineties WWF - as I still play Smackdown and has probably the best rooster to be in a wrestling game.

HD remake with an online play mode would be awesome.

Is that what they are doing, then? If so I might just buy one of those consoles, finally. MvC2 is one of my absolute favorte games of any genre. I've had so much fun for so many hours with my friends just beating the shit out of each other.

I hope it is what they are doing, it would be great to see a strong online community going for the game as well as a graphics update.

Hopefully we will know a bit more in six days when the countdown on the teaser site ends. It just went up this morning and all people have been able to offer so far is speculation.

Yeah this shit better happen, it'd be fucking epic. I too was lucky to get my hands on a copy (PS2 version though), but I'd definitely buy it for the 360/PS3 with the addition of online play, and an HD update would make me explode.

Yes.

I can't remember what the arcade music for the game was like, but the jazzy versions in the console ports are fucking horrendous.

brains... melting...

It's such a short loop, it drove me and my friends nuts when we were unlocking everything in the game.

I play a pretty mean colossus. Comparing it to street fighter IV isn't fair I don't think, they are titles with very different goals. MvC is over the top and ridiculous, while SF IV is a slower-paced, more technical fighter.

Ah, you too! I really, really like him. His shoulder dash is incredible, and his shield hyper is really something else. Gotta love that giant swing, too!

I don't really agree too much with SFIV being more technical at all. I've played it really extensively for the past couple of weeks, it's just dumbed down in my opinion. The emphasis on technique and accuracy is much more great in MvC2 due to the level of complexity in the game. You have footsies, air blocks, assists, knock outs, multiple character's lives to deal with, the combos are much more technical, the high jump also added a new level of mobility... there's just so much more there.

Since you're taking that quote out of context, he did say, comparatively to MvC2, which is indeed a button masher.

I don't really care about Street Fighter IV anymore honestly. I was totally about the game for a while, but then I had an epiphany about the game and asked, "is this really what I want out of a fighter?" The answer is simply no. However, Soul Calibur still sucks.

Depends on what you mean by that. If you mean just randomly hitting any button and spazzing out on the controller, then absolutely not. If you mean mastering speific techniques and being able to pull them off quickly and with impeccable timing, then yes.

Timing is really the only thing you need to master and understand with that game, everything else is pretty easy to understand.

Do you even know what button mashing is? I mean, you apparently don't know to use it in the right context at least, especially considering the vast majority of fighting games can be played with button mashing (SF4 included).

Are they the same type of technicality? No. The fast, hectic pace and having to know multiple characters and change strategies on the fly can make MvC2 equally as technical as SF4 though.

And seriously, drop the SC thing. I don't know shit about King of Fighters, but you don't see me talking about it, acting as if I do. Maybe you should try it.

'God of War' is an amazing game. I really enjoyed the whole greek mythology aspect of it. It melds together alot of the factors which makes a great game. It doesn't concentrate on just one skill or activity but various ones such as stealth, fighting, puzzles and its very fast moving and doesn't linger or drag on. I was hooked on it until i completed it fairly quickly. I'm waiting till the summer till i play the 2nd part and then the 3rd part eventually. One of the best games i've played in a long while.

I suppose I chose the wrong language, but I was merely trying to point out the difference between the two. It is almost like night and day, with SF being about a lot of mind games, zoning, etc. and MvC being focused on high-flying combos, quick response times, and a lot of quick thinking.=. SF is a bare bones fighter. If that is not what you are looking for, play something else! If you are, it is a fantastic one at that. Different kind of fun. I quite enjoy both.

My brother just bought Call of Duty 3 for Wii.

I know that Wii isn't the most powerful when it comes to graphics, yet the game here looks quite decent, and since my brother is a war buff and is pretty much into History, he had been wishing to buy the latest game. But he decided for Call of Duty 3, since it was used and cheaper.

Well, another rather unexpected game announced in the LEGO franchise. I was wondering what kind of theme would it have (maybe a LEGO Spider-man, or LEGO Transformers), but it turns out it will be LEGO...Rock Band. This is just plain weird. I mean, part of the series was the fact that they were somewhat parodies too, accentuated by the lack of speech. And as it doesn't feature instrumentals yet, I'm wondering what will they in the vocal department.

I am currently playing Armies Of Exigo. Doubt that anyone knows about it  Lets say that it's a well-done Warcraft rip-off.

They'll probably just muffle the voices like they do in all the other LEGO games.

I don't know which reaction should be more appropriate; crying, being exasperated, loosing faith in humanity, not buying a single new game anymore so I don't feed their greedy pockets? All of them?

Seriously, if the LEGO thing isn't a huge and unskillfully disguised attempt at a cash grab, I may suck their dick and pay them for that instead of being paid. LEGO Rock band??? Not only I despise the LEGO franchise for the aforementioned reasons and while finding the rock band/guitar hero thing amusing, I don't hold much respect for their lack of humanity either. There's like a rock band each month christ. Metallica, Beatles now lego... I just hope Suffocation video game thing isn't a rock band. Well that'd be cooler than any released yet.

The difference is that LEGO Rock Band will actually be good, unlike pretty much every other "rhythm game".

NO MORE FUCKING PLASTIC INSTRUMENTS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. My stance is still very much that GH and RB are the two dumbest fucking ideas for games ever. Or at least when they decided to release five different skus with five different fucking plastic pieces of shit each time. GRR. FRICK. :grr:

I like the idea of Rock Band or Guitar Hero, even as a musician. It just annoys me how people ONLY know band from either game. It's annoying have a conversation about music with them.

I've a question that's been feeding on my entrails like a horde of mutant-cyborg zombies. I didn't play RE5 even though I considered spending a nice sum for an Xbox and the game, but backed out. So, what the fuck happens at the end of RE5? A classmate told me that the final boss is Wesker and that Jill dies because she gets infected by the virus and you have to kill her. Is this true? I'll be so fucking pissed off if this is true. Can someone give me a synopsis of the events in the game? It's likely that I won't be able to play the game, so I need those spoilers NOW.

I never give spoilers away, so either play it or go check the ResidentEvilWiki.

Yes, they are terrrrrible. Get the original Metal Gear for the MSX2 (or a port if you can find it) if you're able to. It's sooooo much better. the NES games aren't even worthy of the name Metal Gear.

I don't care if they're terrible, I still need to play them, if not for the terribly translated storyline, then only to say that I did. I just love Metal Gear...

I haven't played Metal Gear 2, but the first one is rubbish. The scenery doesn't make sense and there are too many inconsistencies.
