Really? There's already an FPS for the 360 out like that, although the name escapes me at the time, but instead of a weapon that uses time travel you get this fancy Alpha Suit to manipulate time so you can use weapons also.

It's called Timeshift, and I heard it was pretty bad.

Haha well it wasn't THAT bad...the time control thing was nifty, but overall game-play and combat realism was sub-par :P

Yeah, lots of lackluster reviews for that game with the big complaint being that it just ended up being another shoot 'em up.

I've read a little bit about Singularity and it looks like the game rely heavily on the time based gameplay. From what I've read you will be able to use your weapon to alter materials to their previous/future forms which should make for some cool gameplay in addition to uncontrolled/unpredictable time waves that either send the island to the future or send it back to the Cold War era. You could be fighting weird creatures and Russian special forces one minute and the next minute be fighting Cold War era Soviet soldiers.

Ok, so I finally got Xbox Live and am currently playing a lot of Call of Duty 4 and a bit of Team Fortress 2 (I also have CoD5 but a friend is borrowing it). So if any of you chaps would like to play along side/against me my gamertag is NordicWarhammer (surprise surprise). I have some other online games but have little desire to play them.

Also, if anyone could recommend some games with great online multiplayer that would be fantastic.

I recently started Morrowind and Baldur's Gate II again.

Both games I never actually finished, but have tried playing countless times.

The problem with Morrowind was that I played it after Oblivion, and the interface and combat felt.. awful. It simply put me off the game. I'm giving it another go though and I'm enjoying it so far. The travelling is a bit meh, but can't be helped. Prefer it to fast travel in any case, just think a horse would be nifty.

Baldur's Gate II I've tried playing .. oh God I don't know how many times. I never played D&D so it is a bit overwhelming, but this time I'm trying a bit more to learn it. I'm guessing I'll end up with a retarded party composition, but if I manage to get through the game it's enough for me. The sheer amount of depth is amazing, and I've just got out of the starting area!

I'll see if I can get my grasp of the D&D system, it would let me get through some other classics I just haven't bothered with because I never understood what the Hell was happening. Icewind Dale, NWN for example. Sure, clicking an enemy and somehow killing him works. But it's no fun if I don't know how or why my character is progressing..

I was being sarcastic. "Bending time" is a pretty old philosophy in videogame design.

So, does anybody here play Quake Live? I applied for it during the closed beta but unfortunately never got an invite, so I've been playing since the first day of the open beta.

All in all, it's a fun game, and a nice way to kill some time when you're bored. You play it inside your internet browser which is cool and also minimizes any potential hassle. It's also completely free, with revenue being generated by advertisements ingame, although I've never noticed them.

Slowly I feel myself getting better, and today I think played my first "ownage" game haha. I came first on the server with a score of 30-3. It was on the map 'Trinity'; I was basically controlling the area with the lightning gun, both armours and the green health, and nobody could touch me.

Anyway, it would be nice to play with a few people from Metal-Archives, so if anyone wants to add me feel free, my account name is "xafil".

Also, an unrelated question:

Recently I acquired an N64, SNES, and a Sega Megadrive (Genesis to all you Americans) Model 1 (all PAL).

Anyway I was playing my Megadrive yesterday, and I used an R/F cable to connect it to my TV. The picture quality was really shit, everything was blurry and faded and the sound was just like white noise.

Basically I'm wondering what cable outputs am I going to need to play these consoles with the best picture/ sound quality? Do I need to buy different ones for my SNES and N64? Also for reference I'm using this TV:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LE19B45 ... d_i=560858

Thanks!

So I heard Resident Evil 5 is a boring, clunky piece of shit with a story that's less Lovecraft/Romero worship and more 15 year old's wet dream.

Anyone care to refute these scurrilous accusations?

I need something to do the next couple of days.
Can anyone recommend me a good adventure game, point & click game or horror game from the last couple of years. (I'll try the supercult adventure games from 1993 later)

I'm a little late, but I'm very stoked about MvC2 coming to XBL. Something else to play with my SFIV fightpad which should get here on friday! Now they just need to remake 3rd Strike, haha

I'll wait for a few weeks after it comes out before I make my decision. I'd like to know how well the netplay will work. In many, many fighting games that have netplay, it is terrible. If it's not even going to be playable, I won't really have much of a reason to get it.

If it's closer to some of the better fighting games network, it should work well. MvC2 doesn't rely as much on frame counting, so the lag might be a zero sum effect.

Yeah, that's true. Well, I suppose it's reasonable to assume that it will be rather good then, now that I think about it more. All the same, I'll wait at least a little while after it comes out, just to hear from others how it plays.

Yeah. My flashlight got more almost as many kills as my BFG. Let's see...the enemy A.I., after a short amount of time started to become rather predictable. It was easy to foresee where and when they would jump out atcha, so it took away that element of "HOLY SHIT FUCK!", and that was really the best part of the game, ya know?

Well, the new Soldier of Fortune IS a budget game. :P

Soldier of Fortune 2 was awesome. I loved killing people, then running up to their body to see the damage. Then cutting them up with a knife.

This was when I was a 4th grader.

By any chance... Does ayone (besides me) gets dizzy while playng 1st person shooters???

I've been playing some Silent Hill and Delta Force 2 but after about 30 minutes I want to throw up. Literally.
Why??? Am I just made to play 2D games???

Depends on the game really. If the scenery is kind of dark and blurry, then I get a bit of a headache.

i see my mistake now. I didn't mean 1st shooters, but 3d games in general. Its because I've been recently playing 1st (and even 3rd) person shooters.

I remember throwing up while playing Super Mario 64.

Yeah I downloaded the demo, that was it. Is there any way NOT to get fucking owned at the end? Didn't think so.

I finished GTA on the DS, and shortly thereafter, the L & R buttons ceased working.

And there are no DS's here for sale.

Gotta wait for the care package from the wife.

Bummer. I haven't finished GTA, but it's because I having such a good time selling drugs and running over civilians. And I bought the game on the release date.

Maybe some kind of vertigo or something...
You tried playing further away from the screen? Kinda hard with a computer, but on consoles, I see some people play with the face in the screen :S

No, I have never played Dead Space.

Hm, I picked up this FFIV remake on a whim (sale at Gamestop; Buy 2 get one free on used games). It's actually pretty fun. Except that the plot and voice acting are pretty bad. But it's a Final Fantasy game so I kind of went into it with those expectations anyway.

I know, I can't wait for it to officially come out, I hope it's as good as I'm wishing it to be.
