Yeah, it's not really a problem, I was just surprised. I'm too lazy for cropping my photos like forestcorpse does. Or as I like to call it: I work within the medium

@mindshadow: Beautiful birds!

Edit: Why maim the picture if I can just turn him into a rock? :-D

This looks like it could be the cover of a black metal album! Do you have any larger versions of this particular photo? I'd love to have it as my desktop background!

Which one is that? It doesn't show properly for some reason. Unfortunately I don't have any larger versions of these photos.

It's the photo of the foggy lake that looks almost like a painting.

snow capped mountains and such? the south island mainly, we have a couple of pretty massive mountains in the north island too but just single 'cones' not epic ranges
i think some of lotr was filmed in hamilton?, which is just south of auckland

taranaki/egmont is quite distinctive

Thanks :). I'm pretty bad at photography though, that area actually looks even more impressive (by quite a bit). It definitely was a great idea to go there in early spring, I'll gladly freeze a bit at night when I get kilometres of gorgeous coastlines all for myself.

^ Hell yeah. That's what was so great about our cabin on the Tulum shoreline during our Mexico vacation a few years ago: a turquoise ocean with nice waves, a pearly white sand beach, and no one in sight:

3 of my favourite things: mossy rocks, waterfalls and bridges, that place looks awesome [the rest of the photos are all good too]
is it an old mine?

I would need a lots of hands to count all the sheep I've seen in a month of Britain :).

No, it's a little gorge next to a stream that has been made accessible by wooden bridges and ladders, really beautiful place.

Great photographs Suechtler, especially the sun tipped mountains. I also like that lake in the last shot, the distant clouds, colours and general mood.

Thanks, that's the sea though ;). I remember getting totally devoured by mosquitos there and thus not being able to walk around that area longer. And the train network in the highlands is not particularly great if it's your only way of getting from A to B.

Damn, that's awesome mindshadow. That last pic is pretty much perfect, though unfortunately the first thing that comes to mind is the background being replaced with a US flag. Without that thought it would be just an amazing pic of an awesome bird. Stupid implications...

I can't even touch Forestcorpse's Norway in terms of scenery, and although the Teton range is just five hours East of me, I have still never made it over that way.

I have been trying to post a couple new ones that I took this week, but Photobucket seems to be screwed totally up; they have some new version where it isn't letting you hyperlink to the pics anymore!! Hopefully this isn't permanant; my old photos are still showing up fine so I don't know what's up.

This is Mount St. Helen's, the American volcano that erupted on May 18th, 1980. I took these photos in 2005. You can see where the explosion took the top of the mountain off, and obviously it's still active.
