Napero those are some splendid shots! Also, I congratulate you for managing to be a father for three children, especially the young ladies.

forestcorpse those look great! Do you visit other European countries often? I have found that the forested areas of Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, France and Greece are all to my liking. I also visited Spain but did not get a chance to go hiking or dwell into any forests at all. I reckon you'd like what I saw there. Cyprus also has great landscapes but of course isn't part of mainland Europe. I have not visited Poland myself, unfortunately, but things look marvelous.

Plenty of such fish in the river. The hotel even has a camera set on the bottom of the stream, with a large LCD screen on the restaurant wall. It's not unusual to spot three or four trouts at the same time on it during a brief breakfast. On live cam.

That would be great at breakfast. There is probably some monster trout swimming about too. I assume you are legally allowed to fish said river?

I found my camera today! I had to drive about 30 km away from home and do about 5 minutes of searching. Incredibly the camera was still working, even when it was laying in the forest for a week. There is some moisture between the lenses but after I have dried the camera, it should be as good as new.

I couldn't go looking for it earlier as I had to leave my hometown and had no time. So yeah, I'm very lucky!

Lucky guy!

I lost one of my diving lead weights (5 Kgs!) last time we went diving (I should come back to try to find it) but I took my first Go Pro videos with the dive housing:

Iam, love that foxhole pic...looks like some of the abandoned mines we have in the mountains south of town.

These pics were from a mountain bike trip I took last weekend in the western Owyhee mountains, just across the Oregon border south of Marsing. Badass scenery out here. It was a fun, yet kinda grueling ride, but I did get some cool pics to share:

The Wattus Poker Temple (sorry, there is an inside joke here, but none of you guys will get this...)

Yup! There are tons of abandoned mines around here that have been filled in just to the point of allowing natural wildlife like foxes, coyotes, mountain lions or chupacabra to reside in. Nice pics, by the way. Landscape looks fairly similar to here.

Oxenkiller, some of that scenery looks like it belongs on the martian surface :wtf:

Very similar (except for the shrubbery of course...).

Oxenkiller, those pics are amazing. The colors are just perfect and the focal length really lets you get lost in the landscape.

I think I'm gonna post a collection of my favourite pics in this thread, dig some forgotten gems out and get them the attention they deserve.

There's some serious New Vegas scenic action going on in Oxenkiller's photos - I'd like to see you top that...

Just because you said that next week I'm taking the Jeep out to Red Mountain/ Johannesburg and an abandoned military instillation which inspired in game landmarks. You do realize that I live in the Mojave, where the game takes place, right?

A fact that's hard to ignore actually. Looking forward to your photos :)

Thanks for the feedback; that area is on the far eastern edge of Oregon, roughly in the area of Succor Creek and Leslie Gulch state parks. Needless to say, it is probably my favorate area to explore and just hang out in. In the Spring when the wildflowers are out it is especially neat, although it can be a bit too muddy to navigate the jeep trails. Next weekend I plan to go up into the central Idaho mountains- the scenery there is perhaps less distinctive, but still pretty cool.

Looking forward to the Red Mountain pics- I remember when I was a kid there were some abandoned military installations on the coast north of San Francisco which were pretty cool, but it's been a long while.

snapped these two wood pigeons hanging out on the power lines near my place yesterday, the photo looks very similar to one i took [possibly of the same birds?!] a couple of months ago... spooky, it's not a very common sight! the birds themselves aren't uncommon but seeing two and on power lines is
the birds must roost nearby, the photos were taken about 100 metres apart
they are about the size of a small chicken, much larger than a 'regular pigeon'

Poland was very impressive indeed, and it was even better when I had my own ''guide'' that knows all the cool places to see :D

I have been to Cyprus two times actually, hehe. Last time was about two years ago.
