Smashing Pumpkins - Gish

Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream

Never understood why Nirvana, received the title of a "Teen Angst" band. Although I do enjoy them, most of their lyrics are drugged up nonsense. Smashing Pumpkins had actual real teen angsty lyrics.

Sundrifter - Visitations

This is charged up Desert rock & roll that does not quit. I have seriously played this so many times since discovering it.

I'll have to check it out, although nothing beats Gravity X by Truckfighters when it comes to desert/stoner rock.

Diary of Dreams- End of Flowers
Fields of the Nephilim- The Nephilim
Deine Lakaien- Kasmodiah
The Sisters of Mercy- Floodlands
Hawkwind- In Search of Space
Nine Inch Nails- Pretty Hate Machine
Nine Inch Nails- The Downward Spiral
Skinny Puppy- Too Dark Park
Slowdive- Just for a Day
Joy Division- Unknown Pleasures

All the said albums above have some the best atmosphere (Even compared to some of the best Black Metal bands) I've ever heard and the songs on these album are some of the best I have ever heard. These albums I listen to just as much as some of my favorite metal albums. Great stuff.

He is Legend - I Am Hollywood.

Not for everyone and I certainly don't listen to that type of music often, but I feel like that album is solid front to back.

Modest Mouse: Good News...

Love Modest Mouse, love Lonesome Crowded West, but I think the Good News album is where they really came into their own as songwriters.

I could never give a non-metal album 100% because it could always have been improved by having been metal.

He should also step up his taste. There are plenty of non-metal albums worth 100 (or in my case, 90-99s considering I only like to give 100s to the best album ever).

I would love to do that but it's just so bloated, particularly on the second disc. I'd give that ranking to Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon.

Dark Side of the Moon would struggle to get 60%. Total accountant prog, like most Pink Floyd really

The California EAR Unit - For Philip Guston by [Composer: Morton Feldman]

Seriously this is the most epic music I've ever heard. (I can't get it for first time listen) Magnificent.

I literally remember the first time I invited a girl over to smoke weed from my first bong. We awkwardly pseudo-cuddled and listened to Rhinoceros.

+1 for you sir.

Agreed. Consider the fact that Pink Floyd is the most played band on radio stations catering to boring middle age dads.

I love me some Pink Floyd! I was exposed to them by my dad at a very young age, so maybe that's why. But Dark Side of the Moon is one of the greats, in my opinion.

It can be argued that Animals by Pink Floyd is easily their best album. My opinion is that it is fairly equal to Wish You Were Here. Both albums compete for the top slot of the best Pink Floyd releases.

You can argue both albums, but in my opinion Wish You Were Here is still their best, it's more melancholic, and sentimental.

Stand Up, Aqualung, Thick as a Brick and Heavy Horses by Jethro Tull.
How the West Was Won is a phenomenal live album by Led Zeppelin capturing them at their peak.

I don't know if these would get a full 100%, but they're all favorites.

Jeff Buckley - Grace
Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself
The Cure - Pornography
The Cure - Disintegration
Tenhi - Kauan

Scarface - The Diary

This album is just terrific. Scarface spits so much damn venom. I really enjoyed his flow on each song. However there was one song I didn't like. The production on a certain track really wasn't that good. Overall I should say that the album is basically close to 100%.

9.8/10

Well, Disintegration is one of the most mindblowing album I've ever heard... More melancholic, and ethereal than their debut Pornography, althought Pornography is a little bit darker but it's still very good album. It's probably one of my best experience to another genre especially Gothic/Post-Punk

'Pornography' is not their debut, but their fourth album. 'Three Imaginary Boys' was the first - alternately released as 'Boys Don't Cry' with an altered tracklisting - followed by 'Seventeen Seconds' and 'Faith', both of which saw them going on a much darker direction. 'Pornography', to me, is the culmination of that sound, being more nightmarish and gloomy. They then abandoned that style (mostly) and did a few very experimental and diverse albums before Smith got serious again and made 'Disentegration'.

Please forgive the history lesson!

But yeah, both albums are superb. If there were an EP with just 'One Hundred Years', 'The Figurehead', 'A Strange Day', 'Cold', 'Plainsong', 'Pictures of You', Lovesong', 'Closedown', 'Prayers for Rain', 'The Same Deep Water As You', 'Disintegration', and 'Homesick', it would get a 100%. Ok, so that's an LP. :p 'Fascination Street' could find a place on there too.

The EP version definitely has to have 'One Hundred Years' and 'Disintegration' though. And some of the later B-sides like 'A Chain of Flowers', 'Play', 'Scared As You', and 'Adonais'.

My bad, yeah that was fourth album. I just don't have idea all of your songs list that you have mentioned are very good and masterpiece for me. Well to be honest I'm too busy to another genre.., and I'm not an expert especially for Gothic/Post Punk, if you have some good recommendation song(s) or album (Gothic/Post Punk) in general please you should mentioned it too :-P

Oh, I'm not at all an expert on Gothic / Post-punk - I just love The Cure. There are only a very few similar bands that I enjoy, and I rarely listen to even those. Siouxsie and the Banshees, Clan of Xymox, Sisters of Mercy, maybe Abney Park, and I'm already running dry. They're all holdovers from my ex.

But definitely check out those songs I mentioned post haste!

I have listened to them, overall it's good. I think those songs are the best start for Goth/Post Punk in general.

Glad you liked them. :) You know, I'd love for Katatonia to cover some Cure. Especially if they had done so between 1999 & 2003. Jonas's voice back then was perfect for it.

Moody Blues - The Moody Blues Story.

I have it on vinyl like most of their discography, but this compilation sums it up fantastic!

Blue Öyster Cult - The Black and White Trilogy

The first three BÖC albums are timeless hard rock/heavy psychedelic. Streetwise, creepy, menacing, but always with an oddball sense of humor.
