Satan's Host should just temporarily change their name to "Stan's Hots" to avoid all controversy.

 Yeah, well unfortunately when you write an unrelentingly satanic album like By the Hands of the Devil and try to play in most American cities, chances are you'll draw some controversy.

You're also aware that everything the PQ will do will be criticized in the ROC, right? Also, if you really want to trash the PQ, point out the recent Education summit debacle and the protest after. I hate the PQ btw even if I'm a "separatist".

Can't say this surprises me (not the fact that it's the US military - I assume this to be an equal problem in our military and most others)

Catching up on my required metal listening is a tough job. Coming up after my Riot marathon, we have Omen and Celtic Frost. Here's to hoping this shit's as awesome as you people say it is.

1. You never heard Omen and Celtic Frost?

2. I dunno man, no offense but I don't think listening to music in 'marathons' is necessarily the best way to get acquainted with it...seems like you're forcing it really.

Music marathons on my PC just get me acquainted with a new album. It can sometimes induce some (listening) fatigue with continuous spins. I really get to enjoy the album when I'm on the move, listening to it on my phone.

Everyone should have to go through a marathon listening of Riot, Omen, Celtic Frost, and Bolt Thrower to attain manhood.

And when they're done, they emerge from their rooms, glowing with a glorious unearthly radiance, to find the nearest person and punch him in the face. If he knocks them out in one clean hit, he has truly become a man.

Just came home from Primordial and it was stunning. And fucking loud! They started a bit late, so it could have been longer, but the end was amazing, Heathen Tribes and Empire Falls. Obviously, Gods to the Godless and Coffin Ships kicked lots of ass and the epic The Mouth of Judas from the Redemption album totally caught me off guard. Great, great song.

Hell yeah, Primordial is definitely one of the best live bands I've seen. All of the passion and intensity of the albums is just brought to the stage tenfold. I was lucky enough to see their 20th anniversary show in Dublin, but the recent setlists I've looked at seem just as awesome. Can't wait to see them again this summer at Brutal Assault!

Sucks for you I guess. I've seen them a few times and I don't even really like them that much. T'was basically impossible to avoid them during the last few years.

It's cause most militaries accept any jabroni who rolls through door. They can give us all the training in the world, unfortunately you still have people who will do terrible things like that and then you have others who see it and do nothing about it. The training to see each other as a battle brother/sister and one family is good in idea, but it makes situations like this horrible because nobody wants to narc out their buddy/supervisor/trainer. My last deployment to the middle east we had a few incidents in our AMU and it all started with some typical joking & then just escalated until a MSgt had to step. This was after numerous other NCO's tried to stop the few people who were getting not just vulgar but also very confrontational. It's bad, and the top brass making terrible decisions cause they don't want anything bad to reflect on them is making it far worse. It's one of the reasons I am getting out, the military isn't honor and dignity and respect. It's just a continuation of the high school/college atmosphere for the majority of those serving. And unfortunately it won't ever stop until something very drastic is done in how they recruit and what the qualifications are.

Zizek talking about The Wire for over an hour: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsf4rAGlR5s

Zizek is definitely an interesting character (ran into him in a philosophy and a lit class) and The Wire is hands down my favourite TV show ever made. I may have to check that out.

I just shaved my beard off temporarily. It was getting ridiculously uneven from a couple lousy trimjobs, so I decided to get rid of the whole thing (mustache too since I look stupid with just a mustache and no beard) and wait the three weeks for it to grow back.

My facial hair is pretty lame but I hate shaving, so I usually wind up with a horrible messy stubble.

I was browsing through the radio channels on my way to work to find some news. Instead, I found a chick singing something along the lines of "make me feel like I'm the only girl in the world" or something. We are lucky that Eva Braun never said that to Hitler.

DragonForce in a bank ad? Now, I'm one to defend their music but this is just them going all-out wank for some quick cash. But I guess when you're that famous you jump on any chance for money.

I can grow a beard but not a 'stache :/ It gets so uneven that it becomes concentrated more towards the ends than being even throughout. I even tried playing Dopethrone to my face but the follicles in that area are not manly enough.

I'm still mostly incapable of facial-hair - I've got fair hair, so I can only manage a semi-invisible fluff-stache - haven't tried a beard ever, but I expect it'll be aesthetically challenged.

Presumably, I've not listened to enough

The only facial hair I'm able to rock is the generic metalhead's chin-extension also know as goatee. Everything else just makes me look even more like the awkward semi-adult that I am.

One album I always become slightly obsessed with when I really get into it is World Coming Down. The songs are just so fucking massive! It is a positively crushing listening experience, but unlike a lot of metal it maintains a radiant beauty that keeps the experience pleasant and dreamy.
