Wouldn't every riff ever simply be a riff in the space-time continuum?

Edited to be less snarky.

I like Jesu and all but the new video promo for a song off the latest album is quite unwatchable in my opinion. I know it says "official homemade and personal video", whatever that means, but Justin could've done a better job with this.

Someone needs to make another creepiest things that have happened to you thread. That shit was awesome. I'd start it but I never really had anything creepy happen to me

I was actually just thinking about that thread while browsing the tavern earlier. I remember before the overhaul of the sites GUI years ago there was a big thread and I would stay up late reading it while listening to black metal :P the joys of being a teenager.

You might be able to get mod permission to resurrect the second version of that thread from the dead. I remember about 6 months ago you could still search and find both of the original threads, so you can still read through them all over again.

Or just make a new one. I've made about four Star Trek threads and five comic book threads over the years.

Either way, if you have something of interest to post in such a thread, bring it back. If nothing creepy has ever happened to you, then make creepy things happen to other users until they post there.

I've got my college final all figured out. I'm doing a 90 second news package about my friend Ron. He's an independent wrestler who got his knee fucked up badly in 2012. He missed about a year of action and it nearly ended his career. The piece is gonna revolve around his recovery and what it's like being an indie wrestler when you get injured that bad.

The fun part is that the show I'm shooting most of my footage at is on October 5th. We hafta turn the script in for approval the Monday after that, giving me two days to insert the text from sound bites into the narration. Then the project in full is due on October 14th, meaning I'll have a week straight to edit whatever I shoot into a coherent 90 second package. I enjoy a good challenge, plus the time frame of this will give me the proper time to complete all the other projects we're getting between now and the 14th, including writing a 60 second sports update, combining three separate stories into 60-90 second news break, and preparing for the class finals. The video side's final will be a full 30 minute mock news program complete with commercials, while the radio side's will be a full one hour mock radio broadcast, also complete with commercials and sweepers and the other various things you hear on the radio.

I do love a good challenge. This is gonna be good.

There were some good stories in those threads. Lord_Jotun in particular told a great story in the original. There is probably enough new members to make a new one and tell fresh stories.

So who's posing as Veracs on that hilarious "encyclopedia"?

The multiple (and entire forum?) thread locking was genius though.

Dammit, I missed EME's 'general discussion' thread, since I guess anton closed it after 'it got out of hand'.

Maybe it's actually Veracs and he joined the ranks of the disgruntled who are trying to "overthrow" MA with EME! :-D

What we really need is another Metal Archives Soap Opera thread (i.e, where forum members build a collective story by adding to it with each post. Obviously prone to moderatorial oversight to make sure things don't get stupid/trollish.) We had one (apparently the third) right after I joined in '08 and it actually got pretty far; I think the only reason it trailed off eventually is that people couldn't keep the multitude of plot threads running at the same pace.

Well, at least I thought it was fun. :oh shit:

I feel kind of weird for not really enjoying The Gates of Slumber at all. Most of my friends into traditional doomish stuff seem to love them. I've even seen them live three times and never been moved.

They're boring, that's all. I saw them live and they did fuck all for me.

Ya knaw, I kinda feel that Necrophagia's Season of the Dead gets underrated. Killjoy sounds like he's in an asylum plotting his revenge against the world and the guitarist is fantastic.

Yeah, I need to listen to that. For whatever reason I never really gave Necrophagia much of a chance. I enjoy some of Killjoy's other projects though, like The Ravenous and especially Cabal!

I have searched up, down, sideways and backwards, and I cannot seem to fulfill this request of mine, so I will give five dollars and a blowjob to the first person who can find a high-quality image (at least 600 pixels) of Blazon Stone, Return To Port Royal.

Welp, I re-searched it on Google and it decided to reveal the result to me. So, this leads me to one conclusion: Google Image Search sucks.

Unfortunately the image is slightly blurry. I'm not sure if that's a stylistic thing or low quality, but it's better than I managed!

Well, considering it was YOU who promised a blowjob for finding the image, I'd say it's a classical pot & kettle fellatio situation here.

There's the good kind of sucking, and the bad kind of sucking. I mean, we can try a human centipede-like situation of sucking if you want to get real freaky, and I know you do, Napero.

As is usual in the case of suggestions that involve naked contact, I must politely decline the offer.

Ordered a replacement laptop keyboard from Amazon. The one that arrived had a few keys missing. I asked for a replacement, I was told it was a third-party supplier "fulfilled by Amazon" order, so... uh....

Well, the thing is, originally I thought it would be really funny to, you know, just ask him to mod me to see if he actually would. So, he did. Naturally, I then locked every single thread, threatened to ban anton himself if he kept posting dumb threads, etc. Then one of his impersonators made a thread pleading with me to stop being such a tyrant, and I made a joking apology post, then anton himself posted and said it was ok and that I'm a good mod. Dude didn't even unmod me.

Then, a shitload more people joined and I just kind of felt bad that this kid (who, with every passing minute, seems to come off as...well, not altogether in control of his wits) was getting constantly trolled by so many people, so I locked everything again, including all of the fourms themselves. Had a bit of fun with that. As I'm still a mod, I plan on keeping it up until people get bored with trolling the poor kid and he finds some other way to spend his time on the internet (or better yet, off it).

Writing those lock posts sure is fun, though!

I haven't been over there since the day he started it, it was just getting way to clustered with like five different notfailsafemans and three antons all running around. I still can't believe he modded you though, he had to know every one was just fucking with him which makes it all the more perplexing.

Sounds like Amazon was just trying to keep their responsibility low-key (count). Because there was less keys on the computer than there should have been. Also, Amazon shifted the blame to someone else. That's the joke.

eh.

My boss claimed that there's a new sexual harassment law in the works here. According to some law professor, it would essentially ban naked swimming at private summer cottages.

This is exactly why having a bulldozingly crazy extreme christian nutjob hag as the minister of home affairs pays off to everybody's benefit. I hope there's a rapture and we get rid of these people. Why did she have to choose my planet?

How the hell does being naked on your own property translate to sexual harassment?? Not even here in 'murica land of the right wing uber conservative nut job would that fly. Sure you can get slapped with indecent exposure if your neighbors feel like being ass holes but that's about it. Things over here aren't looking so bleak after all...
