I've lost a few grand helping out people who then disappeared from the face of the earth. Part of being human I think is being let down. Not the end of the world though, win some lose some, I'm not exactly going to stop trusting humanity because a few people flaked/made poor life choices etc.

So Mike IX Williams did a three hour live interview last night. Eyehategod are NOT breaking UP!!! :D I will be able to see them this year, hopefully. They have 15 new songs recorded and are just waiting to get them mixed/mastered and find a label. I am so excited! A new album AND an EP. I wonder why they don't just use Housecore Records to release it? Oh well. I'm just very happy they aren't breaking up. A huge influence/inspiration for me!!

However, I did seriously think you could've been seriously thinking that I seriously thought that. :| Seriously.

Anyway, that kind of stuff is indeed very unfortunate. Not only because of having lost money, but also because that money now benefits some unscrupulous asshole. I hope you can figure out a way to get in contact with the guy somehow.

Yeah, charity seems to go wrong sometimes. Along with the rest of the immediate family, I sunk a large chunk of money into helping my little cousin get a decent lawyer after she got high on some synthetic drug and assaulted a friend, the two cops that responded to the 911 call, and the EMS worker that tried to treat her. She claims to not remember the entire night, and is convinced it's not her fault. But that lawyer worked fucking miracles; got the felonies dropped, got her out of the county jail, and talked the sentences down to 18 months of severe probation. Less than 2 months in, she is pulled over at 1am (violating her court-mandated curfew) in a car outside county lines (violating her probation), carrying a baggy of pot (violating her probation) and an open container (breaking two laws, as she's under 21), three days late for her latest contact with her probation officer. Now the fucking idiot is sitting in jail facing 5-8 years of federal time, and I'm out a few grand.

Thanks, guys. Luckily it's not enough to put me in any financial troubles. And while in hindsight there are some things that could have tipped me off about his dishonesty, I realize that it would still have taken a good measure of cynicism, which is just not in my nature. And he put quite some effort into it, too. What makes me uneasy is that you try to help these people on their feet only to get kicked in the nuts so to speak. Makes you hope they end up just like before so they gonna ask themselves if they made the right decision, burning bridges and all.

Unlikely. I don't know anyone that could possibly know where to find him and he'll probably steer clear of these parts from now on.

DSBM is so silly. I guess:
Do: Emotional metal.
Don't: Metal about emotions.

Edit: Or maybe just black metal. I think there are some Black Sabbath songs that disprove the above.

So I 'acquired' Carcass - Surgical Steel last month and remember thinking "Ahh it's ok, some decent riffs here and there, I'll buy it to have the collection; plus it's not bad or anything I certainly own worse CD's" well I bought it on Play.com and it was delivered to my workplace on the 16th of September. Opened it and looked at the cover, nice shiny high quality digipak. Left it at work, wasn't that excited to get it but brought it home today as I was leaving work I saw it. Well put it in there about 30 mins ago and I was completely wrong, this album is fucking classic! Wow some excellent riffing, melody, drumming, lyrics and vocals. Jesus I was so wrong, it has it's few cheesy moments but it is excellent. They were right when they said it was a mix of Necro, Heartwork and Swansong.

That DSBM thing was hilariously bad, but knowing Wikihow I wouldn't be surprised if it was dead serious. They've also produced this gem on how to review an album:

Others, apart from the already mentioned gems are just as ridiculous, I mean "How to be a metalhead", or "how to be in a cool band"? Seriously?

Those are some of the lamest articles ever. But I bet some people in the world really do find them helpful somehow...

My copy of Bruce Dickinson's The Chemical Wedding came today - one of the more beautiful and well packaged albums I've seen in a while. Doesn't hurt that it's basically a modern classic too.
