Just ordered this from the US:

Black Witchery - Inferno of Sacred Destruction
Profanatica - Profanatitas De Domonatia
INQUISITION - Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical...
Goatcraft - All For Naught
Old Wainds - Where the Snows Are Never Gone
Maniac Butcher - Masakr
Vomitor - Devil's Poison

I am new to most of these bands and chose them based on Youtube listens in order to reduce the shipping percentage. Thoughts/ compliments on my superior taste?

This Black Witchery album is quite cool, got it when I saw them back in November along with a patch and a pin and Old Wainds is pretty good Russian Immortal worship.

And now for a band most of the board actually cares about, this is a cool poster:
Spoiler: show
Image

How many people will see them in 2013?

The only place anywhere near here in those dates is Baltimore, but I'm not going to MDF this year. Maybe next year.

Hmm, Old Wainds sounded more Darkthrone-y to me, no Immortal vibes... but it's a 1997 album, didn't check their more recent stuff.

Ludwigsburg is all the way down near Stuttgart. My uni-ticket won't take me there :(

The fact that the typo for VR's name doesn't spell "Viscous Rumors" makes me sad.

See Inquisition live if you get the chance, even if you don't like them on record much, they're very impressive in a live setting, all the contrasts between hooky poppy BM and violent blasting and atmospherics go down a treat, and they sound huge for a two piece.

Agreed. Very tight live performance between the two.

I'll never forget Dagon randomly running off stage in the middle of a song like Abbath in the "Blashyrk" music video running along the cliff.

Whoa, whoa, that's not what I meant at all. I quoted the entire sentence to provide context without making a huge post. I'm sorry, I really should have quoted just the "thoughts/compliments" part. I meant no ill, inhumanist asked for comments on his stuff and I said I didn't like Profanatica, that's all really. I guess I didn't word it properly, so I apologize. No hard feelings for/from anyone I hope?

Goatfangs, I just saved a praying mantis who'd wondered on to my door. I scooped it up in an empty bin and put it into the garden, where it was heard rustling away, that or a bigger predator preparing to eat it up.

Awesome! I can't help but wonder what species it was, since you live down in Australia and all.

Three of my flower mantises molted in the past couple days. The most notable being my Orchid female, who is now sub-adult and quite large now. The others are the two Creobroter pictipennis I have. It seems the Orchid males are approaching their next molt, which I think is likely to adulthood. They've been at their current stage for a month now, though that's partly because I haven't fed them as much at a time to throttle down their growth.

It was just you're regular skinny green type, I haven't encountered much variety around here. I think it had a slightly yellow head if that means anything. I hope it eats up the thousands of spiders around my property, that would be swell. Orchid mantises look pretty cool.

It could be this Orthodera ministralis:
http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/showimage/1251/

Or this Hierudola majuscula (The green one):
http://www.mantispets.com/uploads/1/5/5 ... 57.jpg?435

I think it's likely that it's Orthodera ministralis, since they do have the yellowing on top of the head like you said:
http://www.ozanimals.com/image/albums/a ... 4-edit.jpg

That, and the angular head and rectangular pronotum (shield-like thing on their back right behind the head - shield mantises have this extended out to the sides) are really distinctive among mantises.

I got three Oxyopsis gracilis, a South American mantis that also has a distinctly shaped head. Otherwise they are "ordinary" green mantises.

:ugh: Man this mantis talk, dudes, it's an insect. A pretty unexciting one at that. If you're going to get all wet about an insect at least make it a rhino beetle or a bird eating tarantula or something. These things are fucken boring. I'd take a 20 page xlxlx/shouvince conversation over the mantis talk

I'm fairly certain it was the middle one, Hierudola majuscula.

Mantises eat spiders, that makes them cool by default.

I do sort of get Erosion Of Humanity's apathetic reaction. This kind of news should shock the world, but it doesn't. It seems like most people don't care about these kind of things at all. Consumerism, folks. Give the people what they want and they won't care what you do.

Nope, I'm not surprised. In fact, I keep myself informed about the issue. It's far worse (and important) than most people realize.

Even if the only thing our personal information is getting used for is more advertisment etc etc etc, the possiblity of that information falling into the wrong hands in substantial. Not to mention it's just horribly wrong to steal private information. So yeah, it's important to keep an eye on this issue.

Sure, I love apathy, but that's not proper (I'm an apathy elitist) apathy. That's acting superior and blaming 'this day and age' while personifying the exact problem.

Don't get me wrong here I'm not ok with this but I don't see it changing unless you count getting worse as a change. In this day and age money and fear are the only things that talk. And I don't know about you guys but I don't have a billion dollars under my mattress to go lobying congress with. And I'm not a very scary guy maybe you should talk to SLK and some other of the more intimidating people here for that.

On another note I want to shout out to the guys from Bound By Entrails and Rune Fire Records for being fucking awesome in helping me get their stuff with super ease.

You use facebook, owned by a company, that company is going to collect information you give it. You use any of google's products, google is also a company. One whose revenue comes from data collection. You should not be surprised if they collect the data you give them. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone expected privacy from such companies. The only reason phone companies weren't recording calls pre-9/11 is because they didn't stand to gain anything from them; it's not like calls are interrupted every few minutes to play a commercial, so targeted advertising isn't a thing.

Just remember: they can only collect what data you voluntarily give them. If you wouldn't do something outside in public, don't do it online.

@EOH: That's defeatism. One can at least try to raise awareness. The thing is that the more information corporations and the government gather about the population, the harder it becomes to offer resistance "when" they go too far. Information is the most effective weapon and the key to complete control.

Ribos wrote:

That's factually incorrect :ugh: The data they can collect far exceeds what you're consciously giving away. Carrying a mobile phone means revealing your whereabouts, biometric data is collected by "security cameras", there's a chance your doctor is selling your DNA to shady companies. And don't even get me started about the internet. Knowledge of your IP address and a call to your internet provider is all that is needed to track you completely. The only thing you can hope for is that nobody is interested in you beyond sending you personalized ads.
