Guess I should update....

I got my Pest Productions order in, everything was perfect and fine. Not sure that I will order very much through here as it does take quite a bit of time for shipment, but they have some solid releases!

Good distro as long as you don't mind paying a bit more and waiting long for shipments! Can't find the Vallendusk album anywhere but there :)

I was just placing an order online with Osmose, I decided to use my credit card instead of paying the Paypal fee, my phone rings... it's the FRAUD SQUAD! ha ha ha ha I was not expecting that.
Turns out Osmose charge 1$ [Euro symbol] to 'test' the card out first?! has this happened to you guys?

Also who is http://www.cdandlp.com/en/ they are also French, when I emailed Osmose about this weirdness the email they sent me had "dreadmeat vient de vous envoyer un message sur CDandLP.com." in it.

Also the sky is falling so you may want to watch out... :oh shit:

"vient de vous envoyer un message sur" [apparently means] "just sent you a message on" I feel like such a swine, not speaking French, who do I think I am!

Something similar just happened to me. It was by far the most annoying experience I've ever had trying to complete an order. To put a long story short, I had TWO credit card payments declined by them, and both times the credit card companies' fraud squad thought there was "suspicious activity" going on. Finally I was able to send them the money using a method that I normally prefer not to use, but it seemed like the only way of actually submitting the payment without any roadblocks. :grr:

From what I could tell in Osmose's e-mail, it seems that the little Euro pre-charge is caused by their credit card company or bank and not Osmose themselves. Still, it's weird that all these issues with declined payments and "suspicious activity" are happening just now, as every other time I've ordered from distros, including Osmose, the payments have gone smoothly. So that makes me wonder... is there some weird issue going on with Osmose specifically, or their bank, that's making it harder to pay them???

All this aside, I'd still consider them a "good distro," because they have a great selection and I've gotten some great t-shirts, LP's, etc. from them.

What country are you in?

If I order from them again I'll just use Paypal, way less drama.

Really like the Season of Mist distro, a lot in stock so despite the delay in money transfer and shipping time it was only about a week before having the stuff.

I'll second what several others have said about Ominous Domain... great distro, great selection.

Does anyone know if Best Rock Tshirts are legit or at least reliable? I'm looking at their stuff and they carry a lot of shirts from bands I've never really seen anywhere else. It would be a shame if they're shady.

Invictus Productions distro (Ireland), sadly have to give them negative feedback.

One of the CDs from the latest order (10 total) came badly scratched and looked abused (about half of them looked used and there was a severily creased backcover but I can live with that). Four messages where sent the last couple of weeks to try to get things straight with zero replies so far. Wouldn't advise and won't buy again.

Edit: an update on this: Invictus sent a replacement CD. It took a while but ok...

Very pleasant and professional service from Forgotten Steel, plus a very unique and extensive catalog specializing in all 80's metal. Highly, highly recommended.

Just bought my first purchase through Sevared Records. It's been four weeks since my package has arrived. Tried sending them an e-mail and still no damn notification.

Awful label, best to avoid.

Try using a different email address, which one are you using? possibly sales @ sevared.com or similar
http://www.sevared.com/id13.htm
http://www.sevared.com/id71.htm [new contact address]

Are you saying an order arrived a month ago and you have something wrong with it but they aren't responding or...?

My package simply haven't arrived, apologies for not clarifying that. Guess I'll send them another message and wait. Has anyone else had negative experiences with this label?

I recently (02/22/15) bought two box sets from Twilight Negro on Storenvy, but as of today the items are still marked as "awaiting shipment." I visited facebook, and Volahn answered to a guy who asked when the items would have been be shipped, saying that he would have done it last week (03/11/15). I wrote to the distro through storenvy for information about it but got no answer. Has someone already dealt with the distro? Is this situation normal?

I strongly suggest you to check out the Propaganda 666 shop (Lucifugum own label). They have a pretty good catalog if you are looking for Black Metal, coupled with great discounts and cds for free if you order a certain amount. Each CD is delivered in a new case with a protective sleeve. Also until April 7 have additional discounts for registered users. Finally, the products of the label itself are excellent and so is the promotional material.

Thanks. I emailed them a couple days ago but still haven't heard back, I'll update if/when I get my CD or a response.

Update: They finally responded to my email, saying they have been "busy" and they will ship it "soon".
Update 2: Two weeks after they said they would ship it "soon" I still haven't gotten my CD. Fuck these guys.
Update 3: It's now been 6 weeks since I ordered. No CD, no refund. Filed an official complaint with Store Envy in the hopes I get my $20 back.
Update 4: After filing a complaint with Store Envy and threatening to get Paypal involved they finally sent the CD. 8 fucking weeks later.

In the meantime, has anyone ever used Metaldevastation.com? They have the best selection of patches I've ever seen but the site seems sketchy as shit.

I recently placed an order for a bunch of CDs from the Dark Horizon distro. I have mixed feelings about the transaction.

The positives: Good selection of older underground CDs, everything was cheap (they were having a sale) and I got a whole bunch of semi-rare (but not really valuable) CDs for a great price. Shipping was very cheap and it was all packaged fairly well and came quickly.

The negatives: One (opened) digipak was missing its booklet, and everything... even sealed CDs, smelled heavily of smoke. Whoever is running the distro must smoke a pack or more a day around his inventory, because even after trying to air out the booklets for a couple days they still smell vaguely of smoke. As a non-smoker it's kind of gross to get an order smelling this bad.

Good: CDUniverse.com is very reliable and have great customer service.

Also, a couple of the sites I ordered shirts from were pretty quick as well.

Bad: I dealt with Earache.com recently, ordering two copies of Entombed - Left Hand Path. One was for me, and the other one was a gift for a friend who likes them. However, they only sent me one copy, and there was no receipt that came with it (like what usually happens if you are sent the wrong order or a defective order). I was basically sent one for the price of two. I was ripped off here. :(

You should have an online receipt/confirmation e-mail. Have you tried contacting Earache? Seems like an honest mistake.
