Hello all! I think most people here probably own CDs rom Relapse records but I was wondering if they are reliable to buy from. Their shipping prices seem very cheap and CD prices seem normal. Has anyone ever ordered from them? Is their stuff packaged well? Anyone know the approx shipping time to Canada? and was the stuff you got damaged (jewel case doesnt matter to me)

Thank you!

They have a good store. My first order went great. Second time i ordered, they asked me for some reason to scan my Mastercard and send them a photo of it ! which seemed kind of stupid. But that was like two years ago, so I doubt that they're still asking Canadian/non-US customers to do that.

My order was shipped to Ottawa in like two weeks I think, so they're very reliable and fast.

Thanks man, I'm about 6hrs North of you (up by Sudbury) aha! That's weird that they would ask for a scan. How did they notify you about the scan? Email?

Yeah they did that by email. I think they were having some troubles with stolen Mastercard numbers or something like that, I think they just wanted to verify my real name on the Mastercard itself.

EDIT: They finally have a very good service and I was to fast to conclude they were not professional. I can be a bitch sometime. Packaging is awesome and delivery is fast. Prices are good especially if you order from within Canada.

The packaging is über important as I order mainly vinyl records and trust me they don't skim on tape!

I recommend them and if you like Black Metal and especially the French-Canadian scene... this is the place to go.

Never ordered from them, but don't worry, I know for a fact they're a reliable distro, I've seen a handful of people here order from them and get their stuff in no time.

Has anyone dealt with Blackened Moon Productions lately?

I order 4 patches last Sunday and they haven't arrived yet. I sent an email to see how my order was going and I got no response.

I ordered two cd's from evilmusic.com in mid june. They never replied to my email, so I filed a claim with paypal. I ordered one of the cd's somewhere else. They finally sent them a MONTH after I ordered. No communication whatsoever. I wasted $10 on the other order. Their website says 'orders ship within 24 hours'. Yeah, bullshit.

Id try Razorback Records.
My other recommendations:
comatosemusic
sevared records.
The End Records
Im probably missing some.
I would say avoid buying directly from Earache and Metal Blade. I had preordered The Stench of Redemption at least a month before the street date and they didnt even send it until the date after. Metal Blade was like that with the Centuries of Torment dvd. Took nearly a week to receive it(thats with the $6 shipping, which was a ripoff).
When you preorder something, you should get it the day before or the day its released.

I think the whole label/distro is a one man kind of operation, but I'm pretty sure he could have replied to your email or messages.

I just got these today in a plain white envelope. So BMP is reliable, but you won't get much luck in communication.

EDIT: Their packaging is very good. The trick to use a pen to snap the tape/plastic did not worked and I needed real a knife. As I order mainly vinyl I am quite bitchy about it. Delivery time is good and the answer to my email when he was back in town was clear and satisfactory.

I removed/edited my prior complain as I did not had all the information needed. My bad.

Will re-order there for sure.

I ordered from him. He actually responded to my email and only put "Yes". Not very professional, but atleast its something.

I ordered from this site as a last resort.

Asphyxiate has a bad reputation in Australia.

Some good black metal labels/distros in Australia:

I also would avoid this one. Bought 8 CDs from him via Ebay and as they didn't arrive 40 days after I made they payment I opened a claim and then he sent my stuff.
Communication was almost =0 as he didn't reply to my questions and the answers were short without any information.

In addition to what went wrong for the guy above, these guys ripped me off -- took the money, then put up a notice saying the web site was defunct, and vanished. Would not refund through paypal.

I have had good experiences with:

http://www.redstream.org/

Professional packaging, arrived four days later

http://www.deathgasm.com/

Order arrived within three days and was expertly packaged. Good prices too.

http://www.cursedproductions.com/

Order arrived in four days, really securely packaged.

http://www.evilmusic.com/

Web site isn't updated, but order arrived in 3 days, well-packaged.

Greetinx to all, there is a huge ripoff on egay right now by the name of Andreas Teriete in Caen, France.

This bastard sent me EMPTY TAPE BOXES instead of tapes I bid on.

Here's a link to his egay account, I left the appropriate feedback:

http://myworld.ebay.com/bero879/

Avoid this scum at all costs.

Unique Leader (whom I did many deals with in the past and all went well) has actually been giving me trouble.

About a month and a half ago I made a large order (about 250$ worth) and received my confirmation email, was charged for it and all. Since then I emailed them several times. They replied once saying they needed me to list more alternatives (listed 6 CD's but all the Cd's I ordered were 'in stock'). So I sent them 6 more CD's as alternatives to what they had 'in stock'. They have not replied to my last 3 emails. I just emailed them again. I'm not saying this is a bad response yet because as stated, I have done alot of business with them in the past and all went well. but it's getting to the point where I figured I'd mention it here.

I remember I used to order from Unique Leader, it took them a hell of a long time to mail out orders. I don't know if the service has changed any over the recent years.

Probably order from him once a month, at least. Absolutely recommended, unless you're just looking for one or two discs which are easy to find anywhere (in that case, the flat-rate shipping makes it a bit pricier than it might be elsewhere).

Maybe things have changed, but they used to be pretty spotty. They list a ton of stuff in their catalog, but it's anyone's guess as to what's actually in stock. Order ten things and about four weeks later you'll get maybe five of them. They only charge for what ships, obviously, but still disappointing.

I think my last order with them, about a year and a half ago, was what finally turned me off completely - order four shirts, a month later I got one. To order a single shirt from Germany to the US is pretty retarded, so yeah, wasn't too thrilled. If you can find the stuff elsewhere, I'd recommend that.

Do a quick search and you'll find that they have several rare Running Wild albums in stock for only $15 each. These have been out of print for ages, so how could an online distro be selling them in presumably new condition for such a low price? Pretty dubious if you ask me. I emailed them about it and haven't gotten a response yet. I doubt I ever will; an inquiry about whether they sell bootlegs or cheap presses is not one that they likely want to answer.

Man, I'd love to know if this distro is reliable, too, lots of killer older stuff!!
