Hello,

Is anyone aware why Deathchant (USA) is blacklisted? This is the LA metal band with their 2019 debut. It may be that another band with the same name was blacklisted, but as far as I understand, I can't understand why this band would be blacklisted.

Please let me know. Thank you.

It's the same band. Blacklist note states "Heavy Psych Rock with Classic/stoner/doom bits". I agree with that, blacklisting stays.

I'm wondering if Deathchant can be reevaluated for their second album, Waste. Although still sludgy and rocking, there seems to be more pronounced, fast, metallic riffing in the vein of Thin Lizzy and the NWOBHM scattered abound (i.e. "Black Dirt", "Waste", "Maker").

Sure - it seems worth getting a few opinions on. Blacklisting removed.

The band just released a new album, Thrones. Easily their most metallic to date.

Still seems to be primarily based more on rock than metal.
