I am not sure why this band is blacklisted. Yes they have some acoustic instrumentation and some post-metal experimentation but it's plenty heavy.

Noise Magazine called it "a psychotic mixture of drone / doom metal, post-rock, radiant black metal mutation and the music of projects Stephen O ' Malley founded and even he forgot about." I don't understand how this isn't metal... I think it's brilliant whether you feel it belongs or not but I also think it belongs.

I agree - just listened to the full album - it's really "Experimental atmospheric sludge metal/post-metal" - yes, it have some instrumental interludes and ritual ambient parts, but it's definitely metal - it includes black metal parts as well.
