Going off my research the band was previously on MA but had been removed after a 2nd reevaluation. This goes back to 2010 so I think maybe a look into the band's more current material could be worthwhile.

Still plenty of non-metal post-rock/post-hardcore and hard alternative vibes but I'm also picking up a decent amount of sludge/post-metalness in the music that could have them accepted.

As a fan of their work, and as someone who even mentally lumps them in with the rest of the post-metal scene...nah. They've always been rooted in post-hardcore first and foremost, and their later stuff actually sees them integrate more post-rock, etc. influences into their sound. Sampling some of the albums you've mentioned above as a refresher is only strengthening my convictions on the matter. I'm strongly in favor of keeping them blacklisted.

That's a fair call man. I also lump them in with the post-metal crowd but they're definitely different. Sorta like if you put Deftones' shoegaze elements with ISIS or Cult of Luna but that's only scratching the surface I guess.
