I just tried to submit the black metal band Weeping Nimbus from the United States, but it's blacklisted. Can you please tell me why it was blacklisted?

Blacklisted in May for being more ambient than metal.
Any objections?

Considering there's entirely dark ambient bands listed in the archives I think that's not the best reasoning. Weeping Nimbus' sole release has black metal songs, which is more than can be said about some bands listed such as LLN projects like Moëvöt and Vzaéurvbtre, or Fenriz's Neptune Towers project, as a few examples. Perhaps they can be listed as Black Metal/Dark Ambient.

The bands you named are selected exceptions, not something we compare to regular submissions.

Okay, but if I search "Dark Ambient" with the genre search function there must be at least over 200 bands that are listed as "Black Metal/Dark Ambient", "Black Metal, Dark Ambient" or vice versa. What separates all of those submissions from this one?

Also I think the fact that this band's two members are some of the most prolific and celebrated musicians of the current raw black metal underground, one of who recently passed, must give some leeway to them being an exception to be submitted.

The difference is, those bands all have at least one album that are more metal than ambient while this one is more ambient than metal.

Sanguine Eagle might be a good band from what I heard from other mods, but that doesn't make his non-metal or barely-metal projects worth adding to this site. Sorry.
