My submission of Rust Belt Gothic was summarily rejected and then blacklisted for not being "metal". I'm not sure how this is a valid critique, i.e. I'm not sure how anyone could argue RBG is not metal but somehow Haken seems to have been accepted, which has a comparable if not mellower sound with a lot more prog rock elements, not to mention Dream Theater whose every other song is some kind of ballad.

Or Ayreon, which is a big inspiration for Rust Belt Gothic and is almost describable as pure prog rock.

If the band was rejected for being notable due to just releasing a debut album, that's understandable, but it feels silly to reject it on non-metal grounds given these precedents. I would argue most of this material easily qualifies as prog or even power metal. I don't think this level of purity and gatekeeping is useful to our community as it stops people from discovering new bands that experiment with new and varied influences.
