I have submitted a band called Consider The Ravens several, several times. I provide discography and a Myspace link. However, I am accused of having no proof of real existence. Now unless I have some really fucked up schizophrenia, these musicians are very real. As well as the discography and Myspace link I've included.

You need to prove that they have a physical release. So hard to read?

Just saw the e-mail that said the submission I did for the band Efecto Droste (Chl) was rejected, the reason was:

Either there is a lack of information, or this band has no apparent discography. Please see rule #7. If this band has indeed released anything and you can show us proof, you can resubmit it again.

I did add their first release to their discography, is available for download at their myspace, I wrote it on the info... EP, Persona Non Grata... just check.

http://www.myspace.com/efectodroste

it says, in spanish, "Haz click aqui para descargar el EP de Efecto Droste", which means "click here to download the Efecto Droste's EP", chilean band, they have spanish as their native language, check before rejecting the submission.

Proof of physical release? In English or present here a direct link to a review stating that.

yet you can download, at their homepage, the EP with loseless quality, so you can burn the original cd, like the guitar player did with his other band's latest album, Psicosis (Chl)... I guess is ok then... oh well, thanks anyways.

My music project got rejected because I don't have a physical element. The songs are available upon request. This bullshit is outdated. I'm not gonna charge anyone for my fucking music if they want it, which they prolly won't. Why should I drop cash on physical product if I'm not receiving a payment?
I've fucking upload the files to a server that are ready for download.

I'm so glad that this website wants to play clubhouse.<-----------sarcasm

Malarkey I say!!!!!!!

Why would you want to add a band without physical releases to an archive of metal bands with physical releases? That doesn't even make any sense. You're probably the kind of guy who wants to add tulips to an archive of animals and cries "elitism" when it's being rejected for not being an animal.

you're so clever.

i wish i could be cool like you Entil.

and what doesn't make sense is an organization that requires a band to have a physical release, yet doesn't keep or maintain any sort of real material based archive, especially when it uses archive in its name.

it's not an archive.

it's a link site.

the best part is that this is a web based "archive" that doesn't accept web based music.

i can't think of anything that's as retarded as judging a band's worthiness based on the money they spend. sounds real metal to me.<-----sarcasm
thanks for supporting capitalism and forcing others to do it when all they want is to get their music heard.

i'd also like to point out that in the "rules" there aren't supposed to be any crust bands on this site, yet amebix is on here.

you've got your heads so far up your asses, i'm surprised you can even see your computer screens.

have fun with your bullshit rules, that you don't even follow.

Rules are fun.

Well I just think, the bands that I submit (Aneurisma and Misery) really exist, and I guess that exist bands that don't deserve exist in the data base of Metal Archives.

I can give data to show the existence of that two bands.

Sorry for my English.

Hello,

I hope someone could help me a little, because I don't know how to proof that I have a physical release out there.
I have released a demo with my band called ''On Dying Grounds...'', but the problem is there were 25 copies of it, and they are sold out, and there is nothing left so I can't make a scan of the CD.

How can I proof the CD exists?

Sincerely,

M.Förtvivlan

If you cannot make a scan, you can link to an established fanzine that reviewed it and mentioned the physical type of release or, in your case very unlikely, to a distro that sells it.

Otherwise, you will have to contact a fan that owns it, make more copies or wait for your next release. There is no other help.

I would like to ask a question about Helix. They are not here apparently and I've read the posts about their rejection but I couldn't establish on what grounds they got rejected. Are they considered a hair metal band? To my ears they sound more in the vein of Twisted sister or even W.a.s.p. and they are clearly more metal than Motley Crue for example or Quiet Riot which are all in the archives. Eluminate me plz.

They were deemed to be predominantly hard rock.

See here:

All of the albums are web downloads EXCEPT for one album. That is "The Awakening of the Sleeping King" which I provided all the details for.
If you need more proof check this link: http://www.metalunderground.com/bands/d ... andid=7158

I've tried submitting my band Kraaker 2 times.

The first time it was rejected due to no evidence of a physical release.

Second time I got the evidence, in form of photos of the debut album fresh from the press. Though it is not in distribution yet, it ougth to be enough "proof", or?
Here are links to to photos:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff30 ... all001.jpg

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff30 ... erA5cd.jpg

And for the music itself, I dare to say that it is "metal" enough.
Link to myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/kraakermusic

I got a bit frustrated getting rejected this second time, because I've seen other bands getting approved on a fairly thin basis.

If you have anything to add on this matter, thanks=)

It is not in distribution yet, so it is not released yet. Read rule 7 again, this time more attentively.

You can only blame yourself for the rejections, since you did not follow what rule 7 says.

But, bare with me here.

In theory, I got a box full of them cd's, so if i write on a forum or some otherplace "buy this article for ONLY 5.99$ NOW!!" it would be in distribution?

I am just a fucking impatient soul.
It could all change if my lazy label did some effing promotional work.

3rd submission's the charm right?

See u in here again if Kraaker is still considered to be in the twilightzone

I just gone through some of the recently submitted bands here.

For example the band Bressack http://www.bressack.de/News.htm
has no evidence of a release as far as I can see.

They refer to a email address for further info on their demo.

Well, I can refer to a mail address regarding Kraaker's release for ordering and info.
It is infoassistance@elegymusic.it.

Is that proof enough? since bressack got approved?

They have a physical release for ordering, the info is in German. Really, cut it off.
We are speaking about your band and not other bands. Your band has not realesed the demo yet, so you will have to wait for the release.

The rules are clear and we do not care if you are impatient or not. You have to obey them like everybody else.
Besides that, you have told us THAT YOUR DEMO IS NOT DISTRIBUTED YET!!

OK I have resubmitted Autumns Eyes.
Just want to say thank you for all the hard work. As I can see there are some people that do not take having their band rejected too well. This obviously means you have to wade through a lot of crap people dish out for you just because you have to enforce rules.
Thank you for all your hard work and I hope I brought a tiny bit a hapiness into your life.

I know i come out as a annoying person.
I'm not an anarcist, and I will obey the rules from now on!!

And I'm happy for you Shan. I mean it=)
I will be happy when my submission goes through too.

Good luck everyone.

Thank you. That post was not completely directed at you though.
What I suggest you do is get your record company to start distrubuting your albums, otherwise consider finding different label or just producing the albums yourself (if you have the money). Until then good luck.

Hehe, I kind of knew that you aimed a little at me with that post.

My label claim to have sent of 150+ cd's to various mailorders. I can't say I have seen ANY evidence of that yet.
I have a box cd's they sent me, selling to friends and other people.

Yeye, thanks anyways.

Cheers
