I've added "A Secret Revealed" today.
Here's their new song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W4p6O2VT0s
IMO it's post-metal/progressive in the vein of "The Ocean", "Isis" or "Cult Of Luna", but maybe after their new album is out, it might get re-evaluated.

I know those guys for years now, they are not predominantly metal, more like a bit blackened sludgy Hardcore or some sort.

I just listened to this. I don't know which album the 2016 blacklisting was based on, but this is firmly in hard rock territory.

Thanks AZ. Also, any word on this?

Sounds more hard rock than metal.

Hi Mods,

When (and why) was Noise Trail Immersion (Italy) blacklisted? Was their latest release Symbology of Shelter taken into consideration?

2015. No it wasn't. SoS is Converge-inspired dissonant blackened math-core moving towards Deathspell Omega aesthetics.
But still, it's primarily a (blackened) mathcore album.

I know Bonfire was reevaluated for their album Byte the Bullet (2017) which was deemed more hard/melodic rock than metal. Their latest album, Temple of Lies (2018), sounds like melodic heavy metal/hard rock which could go either way. Here's the full album for the mods consideration...

In Autumnus has been blacklisted due to, i asume, its post-rock sound in early releases. The project now has a more atmospheric black metal approach.

Would you guys re-evaluate this band, please?

Hello.

Just came across Body Count' 2017 album Bloodlust, and as an old fan was really pleasantly surprised! Checked on here and it seems they are blacklisted (pun intended?). Anyways! The metalness of the album is more than sufficient in my opinion. Any reason not to include them in the archives?

Cheers

Staar's [Ned] new demo "Maanschaduwen" sounds more metal than ambient to me (the length of metal material is also longer than the ambient one); and it was released on tape, which is available for ordering from "New Era":

https://new-era-productions.nl/shop/cas ... -tape.html

https://www.discogs.com/Staar-Maanschad ... e/12460741

Possible re-evaluation?

One song that is slightly more metal than ambient won't be enough since the rest is mainly ambient + this release was already taken into consideration before blacklisting it. ;)

They were actually blacklisted for submission-spam without a valid release. Very posty, might have enough substance though. Whitelisted for musical evalutation.

That album was internally discussed in 2017. I didn't think it was acceptable, more rap rock/hardcore/etc. than metal. Some mods disagreed, but I think the consensus was no.

That Bonfire album might be it. Mix of Europower, Scorpions and AOR. Maybe. TSIR and I gave it a listen and we're not entirely sure, but looks like this can at least get whitelisted to gather some more opinions in the queue. Feel free to submit (but be aware that it might get rejected in the end).

If I may add something, their album The Räuber might be also worth reviewing. The German magazine Heavy, oder was has called it "a return to the Cacumen style in regard of its heavines, though it has a ballad ortwo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BlA2tW_DfY

Hi, guys. A band named Kosmus, wich I have submitted was blacklisted. Can you reconsidering by listening to their second album named Eudaimonia? I'll leave the link here below. Thank you very much.

Another much discussed band I'm curious about is Jaded Heart. While originally an AOR act, their most recent work sounds melodic heavy metal/hard rock. I know it has been a few years since they've been bought up. Here is their latest album, Devil's Gift, for the mods consideration...

My entry for Beshenitar was rejected, my understanding is their debut was released the 1st of January, the other duplicate was submitted December 29th. Is there another release I am missing, or is it too ambient, like Keyvanoth, its former name?

The other submission was made by the person behind the label and he confirmed in the notes that it was available already.

According to this policy change:

I don't understand why my submission was rejected.
First release was in 2017.

So my recent submission, “The Eye of Jupiter”, has been rejected. I mean, knowing this site, I was expecting it, but I just wanted some more clarification. I bet it’s because the submission can be classified as djent, hmmm?

Yes? I mean, djent is even explicitly mentioned in the rules as unacceptable. I'm not sure why you'd even bother submitting it if you expected it to get rejected (and are allegedly familiar with the site's "band acceptance rules", going by your post about Alestorm in the other thread).

You should change the word order there. Now it reads as if rough demos and rough singles aren't allowed, but produced singles are.

*Note that singles and rough demos are still (generally) not sufficient

I see I already have a bad reputation here. Perhaps I thought I could get around it by calling it “technical deathcore” a la Rings of Saturn... ah well.

You could tag it as speed metal and it wouldn't make a difference. We go by the music, not what's in the genre field.

Since Nostalgic Agony (Italy) now has a full-length out (since December 2017) and there are several pages of Google results, can this band be un-blacklisted? I'd like to state that I am not affiliated with this band. My relation is only as a friend of the record label that released their full-length.

Full length can be streamed here:

Also listed here:

And these many, many Google search results:
