Why isn't Europe here? The first two albums are really NWOBHMy (and yes, i looked up the search results and the last ones were from 2015)-

Because these albums are mostly 80's AOR/Hard Rock with a "metal" edge.

While some songs are heavy metal (and a shitload of riffs aswell) the AOR/HR side prevails on both releases.

I'm trying to re-submit Sands in Darkness, who were blacklisted for being more ambient than black metal. Their new EP is pure black metal: https://soundcloud.com/sango-escoc-s/se ... t-goes-out

As is the newly re-released Rehearsal Outtake: https://soundcloud.com/sango-escoc-s/se ... ttake-demo

All their material was just released on cassette:

https://depressiveillusions.com/search/ ... 20Darkness

Night Verses and Native'Blood are more ambient than black metal, but the new EP, the demo, and the Burning Earth Single are all 100% bm.

This has also been released on cassette.

Bumping this again. Could this be whitelisted so that it may be debated upon again in the queue, regardless of the outcome? It certainly merits the elements to be debated greater to be on this site.

I'm sure Green Lung used to be on here, any reason why they've been removed? Apologies if they weren't here (I may be being an idiot). If not, are they fine to submit? Debut album out today, already had previous physical releases etc.

They were blacklisted last February by Azmodes for being more stoner rock than metal. Since this stuff isn't my area of expertise I'll let another mod decide what to do with the new album being out.

What Erosion said. They were never listed to my knowledge, the blacklisting is based on a band queue rejection. TSIR and I were on the fence back then, but decided that the EP out at the time was too borderline rock.

Whitelisted for re-evaluation.

Hello people, I bet that Slaughterfarm Gangbang (Another project of Clay Lamanske of Cemetery Rapist -United States-) was blacklisted because someone kept submitting it without physycal proof, wasn't it..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVK4Ohayy9k (I think that there are not much more releases)

EDIT: I have confused the band, forget about Slaughterfarm Gangbang, is more noise that everything else... Sorry

Also, I'm bumping this:

ᴎostalgiʞK wrote:
Hi there folks, I didn't find a thread about this band, so I wonder why Necrosodomistical Slaughter is blacklisted, what do you think? Too borderline, riffless? Give it a shot :)

https://necrosodomisticalslaughter.band ... -stupidity

https://thehillsaredead.bandcamp.com/al ... s-split-ep

(the other release VHS Terror is not worth a shot to be evaluated)

PD: Subhuman Hordes seems to be most punky riffless grindnoise, isn't it?

Cheers

Saw this was blacklisted, still seems pretty borderline, but figured it might be worth a look.

I submitted the band Nocturne (Japan) last year, based on some live YouTube links and it was rejected as being more Hard Rock than Metal, which was fair enough as they are a fairly borderline case. However, I've now obtained a copy of their four song demo tape and wondered if you'd be willing to give it a listen? If you still think they're more Rock then fine, but I know you prefer recorded to live stuff anyway so I thought it might be worth another try?

So just a question: It appears the black metal band Ix (from Idaho, USA) was removed from the site at some point. I'm not entirely sure when that was done, but I'm wondering what the reason was.

Yes, there is a band called Ix Zealot from Utah, but as far as I can tell this is a completely different band, and the demo release from the Idaho band which I own (and I submitted a review for it on the site) is not listed under the Utah band. As far as music, it was legitimately black metal (not some nebulous spin-off genre) so I can't imagine that was the issue. So what is the story with Ix from Idaho, and what was the reason for the band being removed? Does anyone recall how or why?

It turned out to actually be a demo by the Idaho band Tempestarii.

I have a genuine question:

Why are Bring Me The Horizon blacklisted? like yeah, i get it, they're lame scene metal but Count Your Blessings has to pass the "is it metal-enough" test---they rip off AtG more than probably any other band has on that album.

Not trying to incite a fight or anything, regardless of opinion on the album, but I do think they should be on here based on that album. If not, I think there are a lot of metal/deathcore bands on here that should be removed if BMTH is deemed not metal enough.

Thanks for the update, Krister J. I was not aware of that. That band is pretty obscure, even by local standards- very little is actually known about them- and I live in the same town as the band!

Hello,
Im behind two avantgarde black metal bands : Dreams of the Drowned and Stagnant Waters
Both relates to very metal bands (listed here) such as Dodheimsgard, Fleurety, Ved Buens Ende, Smohalla, Urarv.
Id love to know why it's been blacklisted.
Thank you

Well Dreams of the Drowned isn't blacklisted. As for the other one, 2016 for being too far on the not metal side of things.

Alinfierno from Chile. This new album sounds like it is acceptable groove metal to me.

I was wondering if Crystavox can be reevaluated. While their first album is borderline, their second album, The Bottom Line, sounds heavier and darker in the vein of Skid Row's Slave to the Grind.

We are well aware of what they sound like. The problem here isn't that they aren't metal, cause the metal parts for sure are. The issue is that the album is more ambient than metal on the whole. There's a fucking 18 minute ambient outro.... combine that with the rest of the album which, iirc, was at least half ambient as well, and you have a release that is indeed more ambient than metal. You may not like or agree with it, we gotta draw the line somewhere.

If we’re going with that logic, ‘Filosofem’ or a fair chunk of Burzum shouldn’t be on here. It’s clearly a metal release. But you have the final say, I guess.

It may very well be that Filosofem would be unacceptable by those standards, but the point is moot because Burzum already has multiple albums that are unambiguously more metal than ambient.

That example is a completely different story.
Burzum has at least one metal album, so they are included and once accepted we include all albums that band released because a) we can't check every single album that gets added to the site and b) because why wouldn't we? We are a database for bands, once deemed acceptable we should track all data that is publicly and officially available.

Your band has one release, and that one is not pre-dominantly metal simply because there's more ambient on it. Big deal. Keep on doing what you love doing instead of beefing against a website.

A couple of us listened to the album. One slight yes, one no. Seems borderline enough to remain on the blacklist.
